Neopedia : Tweak - Splat a Sloth

Splat a Sloth

The Grundos all stood perfectly still. They didn't even breathe. Two of them stood behind the coilshot cannon... smiles on their faces. The third stood at the side of the cannon's mouth, standing in front of a table, a rolled up paper in his hands, held up high above his head. Still as a statue, still as a soldier.

The fourth Grundo was on the other side of the table, his eyes fixed on the mouth of the cannon.

Nobody moved. Nobody breathed.

A sudden rush of wind! The Grundo with the paper moves as fast as...

The little green sock rushes out of the cannon. Faster.

"Missed!" the fourth Grundo calls out and everybody cheers, except for the third Grundo holding the paper.

"I can't believe I missed!" he shouts, hitting the paper against his leg in frustration.

The first and second Grundo laugh. "Believe it or not, you did!" The second Grundo takes the rolled up Neopian Times out of the third Grundo's hand. "And now, it's my turn!"

One of the most popular games on the Space Station is a growing fad called "Splat a Sloth." Grundos make up a sock puppet Sloth, stick a magnet inside, and shove it into one of Sloth's old coilshot magnetic drive cannons. The rules are simple: hit the Sloth as he fires from the cannon with a copy of the Neopian Times!

The Grundo behind the cannon is called the feeder and the Grundo trying to splat Sloth is called the hitter. If the feeder can get three Sloths by the hitter, the feeder wins. If the hitter can hit even one Sloth, the hitter wins.

It's a mindless little game, but it helps pass the time between long, boring repairs needed to maintain the Space Station.
