The big day has finally arrived!
Does Angel get her dream of owning dark Faerie powers, or will she be arrested
for kidnapping by Hrobi and her Police Guild?
Angel is still waiting for Jhudora's answer.
"You want me to do you a favour?
What sort of favour? I’m not the type that gives favours, especially to would
be kidnappers," Jhudora winked and took another sip of her glass of complimentary
rose wine from the studio catering table.
Angel stood up straight and looked
Jhudora hard in the eye. "Don’t laugh at what I’m going to say. The truth
is I would love it if you would give me some of your dark magic or even taught
me dark magic. And of course I need you to show me how to use it efficiently.
I want to rule the world! I kidnapped you so I could get the chance to ask you.
And I needed the ransom money to buy spell ingredients."
Jhudora burst out laughing, spitting
out most of her drink over Illusen , who shook herself in an indignant way.
"Ha! I thought you kidnapped me just for the NPs! World domination - why
didn’t I guess? I should have known. Angel, Neopia’s sneakiest con artist. Second
to me, of course."
"No, money isn’t everything,
even though it would be good to pay off my student loans. And yes, I really
want to own dark Faerie magical powers. I have always admired how powerful and
cool you are. You rock!"
"Stop with the flattery. Maybe
we..." Jhudora started to speak again.
"Can’t butter up Jhudora.
She wasn’t born yesterday, you know?" Illusen interrupted.
Jhudora glared at Illusen. "As
I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, maybe we can make a deal of
some sort. We are both as stubborn as each other."
"You got that right, girlfriend!"
Angel smiled cheekily.
"I can’t give you my full
powers in any way as much as I would love too. You remind me of when I was your
age. I had plans for world domination, too. Ah, the good old days!" Jhudora
sighed, going into dreamy flashback mode.
"But let’s get real here.
Wake up and smell the Black Roses! It’s never going to happen. How much money
do you want to let me go, instead? I know you want to buy one of those new Jhudora
bewitched rings!! All the rage at the moment. Every Neopian and his pet wants
one." Jhudora pulled out her wallet from her dress pocket.
"Put your wallet away! I don’t
need your NPs. All I want is the priceless gift of the dark arts," Angel
cried.
"If it can’t happen overnight
then it won’t happen, that's my motto." Jhudora gave a cheeky but friendly
smirk.
Then she looked sad and said, "When
my world domination plans fell through I decided to try being a goody two shoes
like my sister for a change. So I helped out in soup kitchens with the Soup
Faerie, rescued pets in the pound, helped old ladies across the road and other
nice gestures like a good Samaritan. But no-one believed that I did those things
and thinks that I can change. I’m the evil one and that’s that. It’s not fair!
No-one even tries to understand me."
Angel wasn’t sure, but she thought
she could actually see a glimmer of a shiny tear in the corner of one of Jhudora’s
bloodshot eyes.
Maybe I’ve been going about this the
wrong way all along thought Angel. Maybe being a Dark Faerie isn’t all
it is cracked up to be.
Is this the real Jhudora? Maybe
there is a nice side of her that the media doesn’t portray?
OH! Wait a minute!! Reality check
here! The purple pest helping people? That doesn’t sound right?
POOF!! Choking, purple, poisonous
smoke filled the room...
Not again!!! "Everyone search
the block!!!" Angel shouted at the people standing around, gasping for
breath. Illusen stood next to her as still as a snow statue. She was shocked
at Jhudora’s dramatic departure.
"Cut! You’re not the boss
around here! I need quiet on the set!" the director who was on the nearby
film set yelled at Angel. He interrupted the two people in the scene he was
directing.
It was too late of course. Jhudora
was off, nowhere to be seen. Sirens started sounding near the building. The
Police Guild must be on their way.
"All my plans up in smoke!"
thought Angel. "What a waste of time. Come to think of it, instead of going
to all this trouble to find her, why didn’t I just pretend to go on a Jhudora’s
quest?" Angel started running for her life, leaving Illusen and Carina
behind. All she could think about now was the sirens getting nearer and nearer.
"Angel has left the building!"
"No! There she is!" Shouts and cries came from all around. Angel ran
wildly and tripped on a loose camera cable.
"Ouch!" Angel felt like
she was free falling towards the floor, while her vision went fuzzy and dark,
as dark as a black battle duck.
As she slowly opened her eyes Angel
looked up at a crowd of people surrounding her including a little kid playing
with a toy police car with flashing lights and a realistic siren.
Angel slowly came to. "Where’s
my million NP ransom?" she croaked.
"Locked up, just as YOU should
be. Angel, really! You should have learned by now that crime doesn’t pay. We
have been trying to catch you for a while." It was a police officer in
plain clothes. "Why is she dressed like a stage manager?" Angel thought
dimly to herself.
"Its not fair! Jhudora set
me up!" Angel moaned.
"Sure, tell it to the judge
in court tomorrow!" the police officer laughed. Just then, Illusen and
Carina both rushed out the building together, just in time to see Angel being
hauled away in a police van.
After all she had been through,
Angel had found out the hard way "to never trust a Dark Faerie - never
- ever - ever.."
The End
