There was another knock on the door, and Griffin wove his way through the crowd
to get to it. A tall Chokato Chia smiled merrily with a purple gift-wrapped
present in her hands.
"Ally!! Come on in!! You're just in time for the gift exchange." She smiled
and walked into the house. It was then that Griffin saw the light hit it in
the snow, so he cocked his head and padded up to it. Okay, so what was this
'it'? Derek and Claire's set of binoculars. Griffin picked up the binoculars
and slipped them into his shirt. This was unusual. The foolish Derek and Claire
left it behind by accident, and now Griffin was starting to become just that
bit more suspicious that something was up...
Meanwhile...
Claire slapped Derek harshly in the face. "YOU FOOL!" she said fitfully. "Do
you have ANY idea what that was?? We should've barged in and stolen it, right
then and there. But you left the binoculars behind, and now they have our fingerprints
all over it! HOW COULD YOU?"
Derek desperately tried to calm his mate down. "Claire, Claire!! It's okay!
We'll find it, then grab a few Chias to eat and take the equipment back on the
way out."
"It'll never work...oh, why did I marry such a clumsy geek in the first place?"
She moaned pitifully and slapped a pair of black rubber gloves in Derek's face.
"If you only wore those, LIKE I TOLD YOU A BILLION TIMES, then it would have
no affect, except for the fact that those binoculars cost me a FORTUNE!" She
screamed angrily and punched a fist through the table.
"Wait, look..." Derek said, his brows knotting. "We can go there tonight. That
Lupe is crazy about Chias, so we take a few hostage and the ransom is the binoculars,
plus that necklace thing, we get our demands, then never give back the Chias
and eat them for lunch."
Claire nodded smiling, then licked her lips as she sat down. "I see where you're
getting at..." She paused. "But the best idea in my thoughts is to just go in
there like we always do and wing it."
***
Screams and shouts were sounded off the two notorious Lupes, dressed head to
toe in black, crashed through a window and landed neatly onto the carpeted floor
of dragonshark173's NeoHome. Claire, with an Improved Lightning Beam gun in
one hand and a web claw on the other, gently caught several NeoPets in one foul
swoop. The web-like substance hardened all around the pets like a cage, as Claire
shot off several more rounds of webbing around the room like a cage. Indiana
and Celestial were just two of the pets caught in the turmoil of the netting.
Meanwhile, Derek fitfully shot off blasts of his Fire Sceptre to the ceiling,
making pets flee in every which-way, screaming frightfully while covering their
heads with their hands. Griffin and Arctic stood amidst all of the nonsense
boldly. Arctic went to it and started to charge at full speed towards Derek,
but suddenly hit something on her head, making her stop suddenly and recoil
pitifully.
Griffin slowly approached Derek and put a paw on the spot that Arctic hit her
head, but there was seemingly nothing there but air. The evil Lupe started laughing.
"I'd like to state that my Bubble Shield ability works quite nicely, does it
not?" He laughed again and Griffin snarled.
"Let go of the Chias and my daughters." He squinted and glared at Derek. It
was truly a demanding statement.
"No," Derek said simply and surely. "You give us our binoculars back, plus
your pretty friend's necklace back and we'll let your punks go."
Griffin snarled fiercely. "So be it!"
"Griffin, wait..." Arctic said, looking down at her necklace. Griffin turned
around to see her. "My necklace...it's doing something..." She put a paw on
her necklace and licked her lips. "Flustering, isn't it?"
The bright necklace started to shimmer and glow, then started to violently
shake. "Huh?" Griffin said. That was all he could make out before the necklace
raised itself up, glowing brightly, then let out an enormous beam of light.
The room was illuminated for several seconds with the bright-as-the-sun light,
then there was an earsplitting noise. In the blink of an eye, Derek, Claire,
and everything they brought, was gone.
Everything. Just gone. Not a trace of webbing, not a drop of fighting. The
binoculars were gone, too. It was like it had never happened. Griffin smirked
as he looked up at Arctic, amazed, who was just as amazed as he was, if not
more. Indiana and Celestial bounded up to their parents and hugged them both
tightly. Griffin smiled and patted his family's backs.
"Whoa..." he said, then laughed a little. "Well?" He looked at his family proudly.
"We've got a party to continue!"
There were yips and shouts of joy, and within moments, the party was up and
rolling again--this time, the people were chattering about the newest adventure
of Griffin and Arctic they had just witnessed before their very eyes.
