The Noodles And The Great Faerie War

by yaboofernoodle

About three months (and 14 dartboards with Black Pete as the bulls-eye) after the incident from our Krawk Island Catastrophe, we began to schedule more concerts. Our first booking was our greatest ever… Faerieland! We were going to play music for the Faerie Queen herself, and they were sending a cloud ship over now so we could stay at Faerieland for two weeks until our concert! I ran upstairs to tell Neopia's greatest band, only to find that they weren't anywhere in the house at all.

I hurried into our backyard. My pets were all entering a cloud to take us to Faerieland. I didn't even bother to ask how they found out. I already knew how they did! KoochieNoobus has a mental link with me, but she uses it at the worst possible time. Entering the cloud, I gazed around in wonder at every gadget and gizmo there, none of which to be touched without proper instruction.

"Hey, what does THIS button do?" I heard Number Nimmo say.

With a mighty rumble, our cloud began to spin in circles rapidly. For the first time ever, my Nimmo had made a really bad mistake.

2 WEEKS LATER…

I woke up and rolled off of my cloud bed. The concert was today, but I had to prepare! I got dressed in the fancy clothes provided for us and shuffled sleepily into the main hall. To my great surprise, nobody was there except for KN.

"Mum… what's going on?" KoochieNoobus inquired. "We aren't in any danger, are we?"

I answered, "I don't know, sweetie… I'm going to do my best to find out."

The hall was very creepy and haunting when nobody was there except the two of us. We heard a creak at the far end of the hall and spun around. It was only Firey_Sac, Number Nimmo, and Bhuhbuh were hauling something into the main lobby, so we were safe… at least I thought we were. What they dragged all this way was a Fire Faerie, who was almost completely limp.

"Evil… sp… spell…." she stammered. "D… Dark… Fae… rie. Prophecy… of… war."

I groaned and knew instantly that our concert would be cancelled.

All of us walked slowly outside. There were no faeries there, either. All we saw was a tower… the Hidden Tower! It wasn't the same… somehow I knew there were no more items there, and all could see that it was encased in a dark, foul-smelling fog. Even worse, we knew that the real tower could never be seen by the naked eye. My pets and I began to run towards it, when all of a sudden…the entire tower collapsed! We soon saw a complete army of Dark Faeries, facing off against the remaining Light Faeries, and the Faerie Queen being guarded.

KN spoke up immediately. "I know it! I know what's happening now! I read it in my Faerie Tales book. This is the Prophecy of the Great Faerie War, the time when the Dark Faeries would arise to destroy the Faerie Queen, and it would lead to an entire uprising of evil creatures. The Evil Army, or so it is called, was to enslave the other Faeries and overthrow all of Neopia! The Prophecy was created after an attempted war by the Dark Faeries, which lead to the last remaining soldier pronouncing a curse upon the Neopia."

Firey_Sac dashed towards the battle yelling, "Well then, let's KICK SOME WING!"

Moments later, I found myself caught in the heat of battle, armed with nothing but my replacement Neopian Knight's gem, destroyed on our last adventure. I put it on, and not only did I change… my pets did as well! I stared at them all with their armour and weapons.

"Didn't see that coming," Number Nimmo chimed in.

We all rushed in different directions. After defeating at least 4 Dark Faeries each, we all regrouped.

"Now what?" I heard.

I didn't have time to see who asked me that, as in the back of my mind I felt a sting, and some other voice in my brain kept repeating some strange, evil incantation. I slowly turned, and saw a black beam shooting straight at my face.

"No, mum! No! Get down!" I heard bhuhbuh shout. It was no use. I had no time to dodge it, but I faced it bravely knowing that at least I would go out protecting Neopia, as I should have. I prepared for my demise, which would hit me in milliseconds, when I saw bhuhbuh leap in front of me. I only heard a faint scream and then I only saw a bright light.

The dust settled seconds after the event. It left just as soon as it came. Everything around me stopped, every fight of Faerie against Faerie ceased at that moment.

"Bhuhbuh?" I whispered. "Bhuhbuh…where are you? Are you… okay?" I fell to the ground and cried silently. "Bhuhbuh… I love you."

Suddenly, I heard a strange *MEEP* and a Pikis floated right above my head. "Don't fear, little Pikis. I won't hurt you," I said.

It flew right next to me and gave me a hug. I reached out for him just as he finished hugging me and I heard a soft jingle. I grasped for its neck and, strangely, it cooperated. "You have a collar, little fella?"

Everyone was staring intensely at the Pikis and myself by now. I read the tag on the collar.

"144089 Market Street of Neopia Central, owner yaboofernoodle, 555-5646. No… it can't be…" I gulped and flipped the tag over and continued to read aloud. "Hello… my name is Bhuhbuh the Pteri." I dropped the collar and drew my hand back quickly as if a Cobrall bit me.

"Meep," the Pikis said.

The PetPet/Neopet (I'm not even sure WHAT it is now) flew way up above the crowd. The heart on his chest began to glow… and glow… and glow… until it shone bright as a star. "Meep!" it cried, and a bright ray exploded across the battlefield. When the ray had disappeared totally, there were no Dark Faeries. I stood and felt something tug on my belt.

"Meep… I mean, hi mum."

I felt a soft wing and a Lost Desert vest… this just was getting weirder and weirder! I glanced down and saw Bhuhbuh, in original form and full glory. It felt like my heart was about to burst out of my body! My other pets ran over to us, and we were about to congratulate Bhuhbuh when we were summoned to a large tent. We went inside, and the Faerie Queen was waiting with five medals in her hand.

"You have done well. We Faeries didn't see this coming, and what amazed even more was that a Neopian and her four pets were skillful enough to take down a full militia of Dark Faeries. She placed each medal around our necks, and paused at bhuhbuh.

"You especially deserve this. Only a pet with such a grand heart could withstand a destruction beam for their owner and live to tell the tale. In fact, you only survived because of your selflessness, which made the attack so minor it merely morphed you." She placed the medal around bhuhbuh's neck with even greater honour. "I now proclaim you official heroes of Faerieland… no… Neopia!"

And that's how we won the Great Faerie War.

The End
