Raising Your Stats - How? What? Huh?

by ultralord

Congratulations! Your pet now knows how to increase stats the easy way! The Guide to Stat Raising Shrooms, Codestones, Dubloons, and Neggs!

Hynfaerie, Antorcha, K0jir0, How'd they get so strong? Training School, quests, and random events!

There are many ways to train your pet's stats. Your pet's stats not only help it to look good, but affect how you battle in the Battledome also. I have listed some of many ways to train your pet:

Training School
"The Normal and Inexpensive Way"

Speaks for itself! This was the first place where you could train your pet's stats. You have to pay for the classes with mystical codestones, which only cost about 3000 NP (avg.)

This is my favourite way to train right now, because it is cheap and fast. Since Neopets took down all of the Dubloon making games, this is the cheapest way to go right now for pets over level 30. An added advantage is the time it takes. While at the Dubloon school it takes up to 8 hours for a pet over level 30, at the training school its only 3 hours.

Pros
· Affordable
· Not Time Consuming
· You can find codestones in random events, which you use to pay for school

Cons
· Gets expensive when you get to high levels (but is the only ways to raise high level pets without going through quests)

Faerie Quests
"Inexpensive, Yet Random"

This is arguably the cheapest and efficient way to train your pets. There are two different ways to raise your pets through Quests

This is arguably the cheapest way to raise your pet's stats. Getting a Faerie Quest is a random event, and the different faeries ask for items. In exchange for the items, they can raise one of your pet's stats This is what the faeries raise (note: if you have more than 2 pet, the stats are granted to a random pet)

Fire Faerie: Strength

Water Faerie: Defence

Light Faerie: Level

Dark Faerie: HP

Earth Faerie: The only faerie that doesn't raise stats. Instead she refills your pets hp and takes all of its hunger away

Faerie Queen: the rarest of them all! I have been on Neopets for over a year, and only gotten two of these quests my entire time. There is much debate of what the Faerie Queen raises, but through my experiences she has raised 1 or more of each stat.

Pros
· Generally Cheap
· Good stat raise (by 1 or more)

Cons
· Events are rare
· Faerie Queen quests can be very expensive
· You cannot use the Shop Wizard till you either finish the quest or cancel it

Kitchen Quests
"Inexpensive Chance"

This is the other way to raise your pet's stats. The Kitchen chef usually asks for items that cost between 50-10000 NP Rarely she raises any of your stats. I wouldn't recommend doing any of these quests if the items combined costs more than 6000 NP (She also gives out NP, rare books, and assorted items)

Pros
· Good Cheap way to raise stats

Cons
· Rare when stats are changed
· Sometimes can be very expensive

Lab Ray
"Quick, Inexpensive, Chancy"

This is the way most of the strong pets you see raise their stats quickly. You can use the lab ray once each day on one of your pets. The only way to get it is to find all of the pieces of the Lost Secret Laboratory Maps. The Lab ray is a very powerful thing, so now all of the nine pieces sell for about 100,000 NP

Strength: The rarest of raised stats. Can subtract up to 5 stats, and raise up to 5 stats (rare)

Level: Second rarest of all stat changes. Can subtract up to 5 stats, and raise up to 5 stats (rare)

Defence: Third rarest of the stat raises. Again can subtract up to 5 stats, and raise up to 5 stats (rare)

Hit Points: Generally common, can subtract up to 5 stats, and raise up to 5 stats (rare)

Agility: the most common of stats raised, although it affects nothing in the Battledome. Can subtract up to 5 stats, and raise up to 5 stats (rare)

Pros
· Fast and cheap way to raise your pets stats (once you have the ray)
· Can raise by as much as 5 stats, which can be over 10k in training schools

Cons
· Can lower stats by as much as 5
· Expensive to get the lab map
· Can also change pets colour, species, and sex

Note: You can usually tell if a pet is a lab rat (the common term for a pet used by the Lab Ray each day) if their agility is high or very high compared to their other stats. Since it affects nothing In the Battledome, most Neopians are smart enough not to waste their money by training their pets on it.

Krawk Island School
"Cheap for weaker Pets"

Pros
· Used to be a cheap way to train your pet

Cons
· Not Cheap anymore
· Takes a long time
· Only takes pets up to level 40

This used to be the cheapest way to raise your pet's stats. Dubloons used to be cheap and easy to get, but since Neopets took down all games where you can make Dubloons (or took the function of winning a Dubloon from the games), they have become more expensive. I don't use this anymore because codestones are cheaper and it takes much less time to finish a course.

Neggs
"Fastest, Most expensive"

This is THE way to train according to Neopia's Richest. Not only is this By far the fastest method of training your pet, it is also the most expensive. These special Neggs can cost from only 12,000 NP up to over 250,000!

Basic Power Negg: This Negg has a chance of raising your pet's strength by one stat, but it can also do nothing

Spiked Negg: This great Negg can raise your pets by 2-6 hp!!

Snegg Negg: This raises your pet's hp by 2-4 and their movement by 2-4 stats also Power Negg: This raises your pet's strength by 1 stat

Silver Knight Negg: This raises your pet's defence by one stat

Super Negg: This is exactly like the cool Negg without the strength! It raises 1 level, 2-3 hp and 2-3 movement points!

Cool Negg: This can be called "the King Negg" by all of the people who use it. If you feed your pets this Negg, you are a Neo-aristocrat. This yummy Negg raises your pet by one level, raises 2-3 hp, 2-3 strength, and 2-3 movement points!

Pros
· Very, very fast!!
· Raises a good amount of stats

Cons
· Can get very, very expensive (compared to raising the same amount of stats using another method

Magical Shrooms
"Expensive, Most Useless"

There are only a few magical stat-raising mushrooms, and their price is rising fast, mostly because the Mushroom Shop is now removed. Even though they can be expensive as stat raising Neggs, they only raise a little bit of your stats so I don't recommend using them.

Mega Power Plus Shroom - This shroom can raise 0-2 of defence, level, and hp

Strength Shroom - Like it says! Raises one strength point!

Level-up Shroom - Like it says! Raises one level!

Pros
· None that I can think of!

Cons
· Expensive and retired

Treasure Trove Scratchcards
"Cheapest way to gain levels"

This is the riskiest yet one of the faster ways to raise your pets levels. If you get three "arrows" when you scratch this card, your pet will go up one level!! These can be found in Neopian shops for around 850, however after vigorous testing from my friends, we have found your odds of getting a level up are only about 1/25 tries! (25 * 900 : 22,500 NP!!)

Pros
· Cheap
· You can also win other prizes while trying to get levels
· Random
· Luck

Muntando Fruit
"Fun random thing to feed your pet"

"Congratulations! You have uncovered the secret of the Muntando Fruit!" This can raise your pets health by 1 hp, although its odds are found to be about 1/10 times. Since the Muntando fruit has now gone retired, you can find them in the shops for an avg. of 5000 NP I do not recommend using this to train your pet.

Pros
· Cool to find the secret!

Cons
· Expensive and retired
· Random

Random Events
"Random! Duh!"

There is only one that I know of, and it randomly raises one of your pet's levels.

So how are you going to raise your pet's stats? The fast way? Slow Way? Risky Way? Whatever way you do it, just do it! Your pet will love you!
