The release of the Eraser of the Dark Faerie (a new and powerful HT item that
has been retired the following day of its creation!) wrecked havoc across
Neopia! Battledomers scrambled to have their fancy Hidden Tower and Cove weapons
unequipped before battle, fearing that it would give their opponent a chance
to demolish their precious weapons.
"With one swipe you can magically erase an opponents item for good... but
beware, the Eraser will vanish also" the tag hanging over the weapon states.
The brand new weapon was once placed on the shelf in the Hidden Tower, where
Fyora the Faerie Queen, sells her well-sought Hidden Tower items. Basically,
it means with an Eraser of the Dark Faerie, you can PERMANENTLY REMOVE one random
item from your Battledome opponent (yes there is no way of getting it back!).
The Eraser is an one-time use item, so it too will disappear after being used.
As the news began to spread, everyone in Neopia panicked, worrying that their
hard earned weapons would be erased! For the first time, the Battledome looked
quiet and deserted, as if the curse of Maraqua has set upon it. Soon anger flared,
raged Neopians blamed Fyora for putting the Eraser for sale in the Hidden Tower.
There were petitions signed by the all time greatest Battledomers and demonstrations
held in front of Neopia City Hall. Everyone was distressed and confused.
Should we Battledomers fear the Eraser of the Dark Faerie? My answer is definitely
no! Why would I say such a ridiculous thing, you ask? Well, here are some reasons
why:
• It makes the Battledome far more competitive and interesting, as
you don't just hold advantage over other pets because you have the most lethal
Hidden Tower or Cove weapons. There is something else to fear!
• You could still enjoy the fun of smashing the Chia Clown into pieces
or stomping over Punchbag Bob in the 1 player Battledome because they aren't
equipped with an Eraser!
• Only people in a two-player Battledome brawl could possibly unleash
an Eraser on you. Your friends or Battledome partners wouldn't think of doing
that. And even if someone did, you'd be rolling on the floor laughing when the
Eraser only manages to delete a cheap snowball.
• 1 million Neopoints isn't a small amount of change. Who in their
right mind would spend that much on an Eraser only to use it once in the Battledome?
It might shatter your opponent's Jade Scorchstone, but you will definitely get
burned as well. It doesn't sound like a good idea, huh?
• Time for some math! You can only equip 1 Eraser at a time, and your
opponent has 8 items in total. If he only has 1 Hidden Tower item which you
want to destroy very desperately, the chance of doing that is 12.5 %. Not the
percentage you'd like to hear!
To those who fear the Eraser:
• You have pets with hundreds or thousands of hp, yet you enjoy hanging
around the Battledome quick fight, targeting weak pets and finishing them off
in one hit with your brand new Sword of the Air Faerie. Aren't you scared now?
You're worried that soon justice would set upon you when your 25 million Monoceraptor's
Claw is wiped out by a weak, defenceless pet.
• Every new Hidden Tower weapon is in your possession. You are truly
wealthy and never had concerns spending Neopoints But you just couldn't accept
the fact that there is now this Eraser, which could destroy one of your luxurious
weapons. Since you're rich, can't you just live with it? You can always get
a new weapon!
• You're confused, scared and worried that the Eraser might do great
harm by destroying one of your hard earned weapons. But the truth is that nobody
would just go around using Erasers on their opponents in the Battledome!
If the section above regarding those who fear the Eraser describes you, congratulations!
You are one of the thousands who jumped onto a bandwagon of people who were
scared of the Eraser just because you didn't know enough about it!
After reading through my article, you should realise that there's actually
no reason to fear the wrath of the Eraser of the Dark Faerie! It's only something
the ever witty NeoPets staff has conjured up to make the Battledome a more outstanding
and competitive landmark in Neopia! |
