Let's face it, furniture is expensive nowdays! It's almost impossible to fully
furnish a NeoHome room without spending at least 6000 neopoints. That's a lot!
Hopefully, this article will help.
The Challenge: Furnish one NeoHome room and don't spend more than 3000 neopoints.
That's not too hard, I think to myself. After all, I'm resourceful,
right? My first step is deciding what kind of room I want to furnish. My NeoHome
already has a living room, playroom, and bedrooms for all four pets. How about
a reading room? Perfect! But what does a reading room usually have?
Bookshelf
A rug
Chairs
Lamps
Extras
My first buy is a curvy book shelf at 1250 NP. Ouch! Already about 42% of
my Neopoints are gone. But what kind of reading room would it be if there was
no place to hold the books?
Next I buy a cream rug at 400 Neopoints. Not too cheap, not too expensive.
It's important to buy a rug or mat for any NeoHome room, because it sort of
brings the room together and makes it look nice.
I decide to use bean bag chairs instead of regular wooden chairs. My pets
would rather relax and read than sit on hard wooden chairs. Somehow I manage
to find a red bean bag chair at a steal of only 50 NP! I then find a green bean
bag chair at a reasonable price of 350 Neopoints. So far, I'm down to 950 Neopoints.
My next buy is a round table lamp at 200 Neopoints. It's beginning to get
tight! I also buy an expensive small table lamp at 400 neopoints. I'm down to
just 350 neopoints.
I figure that all the main items are bought, so I'll use my remaining np to
buy an extra item. My last buy is a stone side table at just 300 NP.
My final total comes to... 2950 Neopoints! I'm under 3000 Neopoints! I beat
the 3000 Neopoint Challenge! And not only did I furnish a room cheaply, but
it's awfully stylish, too! To visit my NeoHome and view the reading room, go
to 74582 Aisha Avenue, Neopia Central and click on "Reading Room."
Here are some important tips to keep in mind when using the Shop Wizard (like
I did) to find furniture for your NeoHome.
1.) Always refresh the Shop Wizard when you get your results. Remember the
Shop Wizard only searches a different part of the market each time, so another
part could have cheaper prices!
2.) Be cheap, but not too cheap. While it is important to not spend an extended
amount of Neopoints on one particular item, it's also important to not buy dung
furniture or other gross stuff. Put yourself in your pet's position—would
you really like to sit on a big, giant piece of poo? I sure wouldn't!
I hope that this article will help you in the future to find furniture at
reasonable prices. Are YOU up to the 3000 NP challenge? |
