The Truth About Mutants by gryphonsong | ![](http://images.neopets.com/pets/happy/lupe_mutant_baby.gif) |
I'm LoveChargoun, the perfectly happy Mutant Lupe. "Happy?" you
think to yourself, "How can a mutant be happy about their looks? They're
ugly and disgusting!"
"Ugly?" My embarrasing owner, GryphonSong, asks. "Chargoun's the
cutest Lupe I've ever seen! I happen to think that Mutant Lupes are probably
even better than Faerie Lupes. After all, Faerie Lupes are just blue Lupes with
wings. Mutants are interesting, and rather attractive, in my opinion. It's not
like he drools all over the carpet, he doesn't go to the bathroom all over the
floor. Also, he doesn't leave his parts of himself in the garden, like a certain
Eyrie I know does…"
She's right about everything, in my opinion, except for the cute and attractive
part. But she sees the good sides. It's not like it changes me in any way; it
doesn't do that to any pet. Does a Faerie Paint Brush make your pet more vain?
Does a Desert Paint Brush make your pet more dignified? Does a Tyrannian Paint
Brush make your pet dim witted? No. They only change the way your pet looks,
like the transmogrification potions.
Some of them are rather good-looking. The mutant Chias, for example. Even
I have to admit that they look pretty good. If I were a Chia hunter, I'd go
for a Mutant Chia.
Why a mutant? They're full of bacteria! No… that's not exactly true. In fact,
my studies have shown that the Mutant Chia is even more clean than even, say,
the Desert Chia. Have you noticed the Mutant Chia's slicked hair? This is due
to careful and excessive grooming and washing. They clean by washing their tongue
in soapy water (which they can't taste, as they have no nose) and lick themselves
clean. This may sound and look disgusting, but it is indeed very sanitary.
I myself keep my fur in good order, shining the metal helmet and bands around
my legs, back and neck. I shine and clean under my long claws and am sure to
clean out the grooves between the toes. If I didn't, I would give people good
reason to jeer at me for being a disgusting mutant thing.
Mutants are mean, evil Neopets that shouldn't be living! Mean? Who ever said
I was mean?
"A mean Chargoun? Ah, well, he can get pretty nasty, but he doesn't change
for long. Evil? Naw, save the evil for me." FlameKeeta, the fire Lupe, said.
"As for the living part, I guess that's true." (I said edit that out, Gryphon!
Hehhehheh…)
Not all Mutant Neopets are mean and evil. Some are, but it's the same as any
other pet. Mutant and Halloween pets both have that bad reputation, but what
about Faerie Neopets?
"If it were a contest between who was the meanest (for us pets in GryphonSong's
account) then I, the Faerie Uni, would probably take first, then Griffiane,
then FireCannon (the friendly book-throwing dragon) and then Chargoun. Chargoun
is probably the most laid-back of us all. The Lupe transmogrification potion
hasn't changed him in the least. It changed our bank account quite a bit, though…"
stated the Faerie Uni, MissingMoonstruk.
So then all pets are mean, evil, ugly, disgusting and covered with bacteria,
except for Mutant and Halloween? If you think that, you're missing the point.
The point is to say that we Mutant pets (and Halloween) are not as we appear
to be. People get the impression that we are, as stated, mean, ugly, disgusting
and full of bacteria and disease. This is definitely not true about all Mutant
Neopets, even thought some may be, and it's the exact same way with all other
pets. Mutant Neopets are just the same as the others. It's a change in color,
not a change in personality.
LoveChargoun was "painted" mutant on May 10, 2002 from blue. We over-paid
and lost everything, but it's worth it. ^.^ Even though Chargoun's got female
Lupes flocking him (strangely enough, you should have seen the unnatural calm
in FlameKeeta's eyes ; ) he had other Lupes glaring at him and giving him snide
remarks. This caused both LoveChargoun and myself to write this article. We
want to get the point across that painting a pet is only a change in color,
and not in personality. Always remember that. If someone doesn't like your pet
or insults them because of their color, just tell them that their painted pets
are the same, just a touch different. Color doesn't matter, and that's also
a reflection of the real world. (People are racist enough on Earth. Why even
start on Neopia?) |
