Al Returns

by Al_the_chia

Read: "Al the Lupologist"

"There was once a peaceful village located in Neopia, a tiny town where Chias made up the surplus population. It was called Furgleton. In Furgleton, you would find many Chias bustling about the streets. Chias are industrial pets when put together. Nearby Furgleton, a forest existed. It was called Lupe Forest because it was inhabited by Lupes. Lupe packs dwelled in the forest, and most loved to pick on the Chias of Furgleton whenever they wandered into the forest.

There was one Chia who managed to get picked on a lot, an eccentric little blue Chia, with owlish glasses and a high IQ. His name was Alexander T. Chia, or Al, as he preferred. Al had an unusual interest in Lupes. No one knew why. Maybe it was that he loved the danger of working with them. Maybe it was a childhood trauma that warped his mind. Maybe he had nothing better to do. Whatever it was, he spent most of his time reading up on Lupes. He was a famous Lupologist, and you could ask him almost anything about Lupes, and he knew it. He still yearned for knowledge that the books couldn't provide, so he constantly wandered into the forest, trying to observe some of the Lupe packs that went by. Of course, those expeditions never ended well. He kept on trying though, and went to extremes to just watch the Lupes for a good five minutes."

Al peered through his glasses at a bottled concoction, a concentrated look on his face. He carefully picked it up, and taking a spoon, stirred it carefully. "Lets see..." Al began. "The chemical compound of a NeoPet is N=eO2, so I need to add a little bit of..." Al threw in a pinch of a funny green powder. The potion coughed and emitted a small green cloud, and soon started frothing and bubbling. Al laughed in triumph, holding the translucent liquid up to the light. "Aha! Now all I need is a strand of NeoDNA, and I'll be able to finish!" Al picked up something. It was a long, blue Lupe hair. He nervously held the hair over the concoction. "This is it!" Al dropped it. It swirled in the air, falling slowly and daintily, into the weird potion. Suddenly, the whole room started to shake. The potion went into tiny explosions, emitting puffs of brilliant blue smoke. Al gasped and ducked under a table, covering his face. The potion let out a shrill whistle, and emitting a few final sparks, settling down from its tremors as suddenly as they had started. Al blinked, wiping blue mildew off his glasses. He adjusted his askew frames and climbed out from under the table, shaken. "Whew. That was weird." He coughed. He carefully inspected his new experiment. A flashy blue potion with glittery containments sat on the table, slightly glowing. Al inspected it carefully, before letting out a bright Chia smile and a laugh. "I've created Lupe Essence!" Al carefully picked up the precious potion and placed it onto a shelf. It gurgled and groaned, but didn't explode like Al's other attempts. "It's marvelous! It's stupendous!... but what do I do with it?" Al pondered as he stared at the bright, colourful potion. "I'll save it till tomorrow, then I'll decide what I'll do with it!" Al switched the light off and left. The potion glowed eerily in the dark, and soon it began to mutate...

Al smiles in his seat at the Neobel prize awards. Lupologists were gathered around the potion, chattering excitedly. A tall Lenny with a mustache and glasses smiled and shook Al's hand. "As president of the Society of Lupologists, I present you with this Neobel prize for your scientific discoveries!" The crowd cheered as Al waved his trophy in the air. Confetti poured all over him as he wiped a tear from his eye...

Then he woke up. He rubbed sleep out of his eyes as he sighed. "It was so real too." He climbed out of bed, Fluffy still snoring on the floor. "Oh well. After my next experiment, I'm bound to get the Neobel!"

Al picked up his potion and put a sample into a Pteri dish. He mixed it slowly, and set it under a microscope. He took notes, studying the strange potion carefully. Then he weighed it, tested the gooification and ran other bizarre tests until he was satisfied. "Now I can go spread the word to the community!" He left the potion on the lab table, grabbed a hat, and ran outside. Unfortunately for Al, there was a rash of Burglarising Aishas around. And unfortunately for Al, his house fell victim to one of the most famous ones. A strange Aisha called Creeper, who was dressed all in black, crept into Al's Lab. Dodging Al's attack Cobrall named Fluffy, who was taking a nap, he crept up to the lab table.

"What have we here?" he whispered in a hoarse voice. "It appears to be a potion of some sort... hm..." Creeper climbed onto the table (he was pretty short), picked up the bottle with gloved paws, uncorked it, and sniffed it cautiously. "Weird. It smells like Sludge. Oh well. It must be worth something." Creeper carefully placed it into a black suitcase, and prepared to leave. Just then, Fluffy woke up. Hissing angrily, he spit Negg juice into Creeper's eyes. "OW!" Creeper screamed and stumbled blindly, knocking over a rack of potions in progress. He fell off the table, landing with a thud. The suitcase fell with him, and crashed to the ground, opening and throwing the potion out, smashing onto the floor. A huge blue cloud immediately flew out, enveloping the blinded Aisha. "What's going on?!?" Creeper cried, feeling his skin crawl. Fluffy's eyes widened as he stared at the burglar. He was growing!! Fluffy yelped and scrambled away as Creeper let out an ear splitting howl...

Al threw his hat back on the rack, a Green and Purple Chia following behind him. "You see, all I needed was a little Bactorium Flossite with a pinch of Paprika..." He continued, opening the laboratory door. "OH PIFFLE!!" A ten foot monstrosity stared down at him. It had bushy blue Lupe fur, two Lupe ears, and a Lupe tail, but it had the Aisha secondary ears and eyes at the same time. It stared down at the three Chias, snarling. Al's lab was in shambles, and Fluffy was hiding under a table, trembling. The Purple Chia, Mark, passed out, and the green Chia, Milford, screamed and fled the room. Al simply stared at the hideous mutation, in shock, horror, and amazement. "Uh..." Al smiled politely. "Excuse me, but I was just wondering what you are..." The Mutant let out a Grarrl-like roar, shattering the windows. Al blinked, and rubbed his ears. "...Um... okay... I suppose my potion mutated over night... should have expected that..." Al slowly backed away out the door. "I'm sorry, but I have to go..." Al turned and ran, a blast of fire from the Aisha licking at his feet...

All of Furgleton ran screaming from the terrible monster. It roared and snarled, tearing down houses, ripping up trees, and breathing fire all over the residents. After leaving Furgleton in shreds, it headed for Lupe forest. The Lupes were caught in total surprise, and fled with their tails between their legs as their home was burned to the ground. It growled and roared, shredding everything to bits. Soon it was traveling even farther...

Al sat in Neopia Central, stunned and furious. "That's it!! I can't take it anymore!! I created that thing, and I have to destroy it!!" Al grabbed his trusty striped hammer and headed straight for Kiko Lake, where the monster was terrorizing the resident Kikos. He kicked them like footballs, and they were bouncing all over the place, getting caught in trees. Al dodged behind a tree as a red Kiko bounced by him. The poor Kiko was screaming as it plummeted into a dumpster. "Oh piffle, this isn't gonna be easy..." Al muttered, staring at the gigantic monster. He breathed in deeply, shut his eyes, screamed, and charged forward, waving the hammer. The giant monster paused and stared at the pathetic little Chia hammering away at his toe. He breathed in deeply, and was about to let out a blast of fire to fry the annoying little Chia, when suddenly, he began to shrink. Al paused his hammering and watched in amazement as the form of the strange little Aisha once again emerged. The Aisha paused, shook himself, and stared at Al, who was now threateningly big.

"Erm... sorry?"

"SO!! I WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO MY POTION!!" Al snarled angrily. The Aisha yelped and fled, as Al pursued, whacking him over the head continuously with the hammer. BONK!!

"That took YEARS OF RESEARCH!!" WHACK!! "YOU OWE ME BIG TIME!!" THUD!! "YOU LOST ME THE NEOBEL!!" WHAM!

He chased the poor, bewildered Aisha throughout the entire day, screaming like a mad Chia

And that was the end of Creeper's burglarising days. He's now a jewelry store owner. Al is still studying Lupes. He's dedicated to what he does, and he won't stop till he knows everything. On the other hand, his NeoHome was burnt to a crisp. He's currently rebuilding.
