Wanted: Bronze, Silver, and Gold by fanfickime | |
GAMES ROOM - Trophies trophies trophies! How many of us know of people who
are always wishing for a trophy? How many of us have heard (or said) "oh my
gosh, check out this person - they have SO. MANY. TROPHIES!" and looked like
stunned Kois gaping at the long columns? And when you click on the link to somebody's
user lookup, what do you see first? Okay, disregarding their Neopets, house,
and hi-game scores, then what? Trophies!
Now if you've been playing for at least a month, chances are, you have at
least one trophy, right?
*silence*
Erm, right. But how many of you would like more? Hmmm? C'mon, don't be shy,
we're all shallow material people here...kidding, kidding! But material or no,
I know of no less than SIX trophies anybody can get (too many no's!). Any takers?
The Six
Six trophies anybody can get are Cheat!, GoGoGo, Pyramids, Sakhmet Solitaire,
Snow Wars, and Punchbag Bob. And I know anybody can get them, because I have
them, and if I have them, anybody can. In fact, now that all of you know where
they are, you can probably get them without reading the rest of this article.
But you WON'T! Why? Because I spent 20 minutes writing this, so you're going
to read! *raises Dung Cream Sandwich threateningly*
Ahem. Anyway, Cheat! is a card game that I'm sure everybody's heard of, and
it's where I received my first trophy. *ahh, Memory Lane* If anybody has played
the game BS (butterscotch...) then you'll already know the rules. There are
7 levels, and after you beat the 3rd round, you get a bronze, the 5th, a silver,
and the 7th, a gold! (Wow, who saw that one coming?) Plus, you can also make
a nice little batch of Neopoints while playing.
Next one, GoGoGo. Still a card game, very different rules, but fun. (Sometimes
I play it outside of Neopets with my friends...but back to the topic!) There
are eight rounds, and you win trophies on the 3rd, 5th, and 8th. Again, you
get a good amount of Neopoints. (Actually, after getting my trophy I like to
lose deliberately around the 6th round, so that I win more NP...but I'm OT again.)
Third trophy - Pyramids! This is a long and arduous process. It will take
the concentration of many days, and the frustration of many nights.
...just kidding. But it does take a while. You'll get a bronze trophy when
you clear the Pyramid twice, a silver when you clear it 5 times, and a gold
when you clear it twice in a row. I've played it 364 times and only won 9 of
those times, so yeah, you probably won't be getting gold in one day (I've yet
to get it...grrr...) And yeah, Pyramids does give a tidy little profit, usually
around 60 to 200 NP per game (without winning).
Same for Sakhmet Solitaire, only somehow on that game I lucked out and won
two in a row in only 29 games. (I seriously just stared at the screen in shock
for five minutes. And then I started trying to figure out how I won in 29 games
of Sakhmet Solitaire, but couldn't after 364 games of Pyramids...) You get bronze
for finishing the game twice, I assume you get silver for clearing it 5 times,
and gold for two times in a row. As for the NP...you probably won't gain any
until you win a game. But look on the bright side, you won't lose any either!
Snow Wars... *eyes flame* That Evil Elf is the absolute bane of my existence...I
hope they turn him into a Battledome challenger so Shirix can rip him apart...I'll
show him evil! *laughs wickedly*
*cough* Moving on...Snow Wars. Now that they're giving out trophies, go play
and get one! I've only got a bronze because of the afore mentioned nuisance
*grumble*, but some of my friends have gotten silver. I think I received the
bronze trophy after beating the 4th opponent, but that was a pretty long time
ago, so sorry if I'm mistaken! I'd assume you win gold after beating all 10
opponents, but I have no idea at what level you get silver - probably 6 or 7.
(My friends all forgot too! Pfff...) However, it is a little pricey - 100 NP
per game. (But hey, you can get that much playing one game of Pyramids or Cliffhanger,
so don't let that stop you!)
And now, finally...Punchbag Bob! This will probably take you a good hour or
two (depending on your pets' skills in the Battledome) to get, but just hang
in there and keep pummeling...he'll go down eventually!
Those six I can assure winning to all inhabitants of Neopia. Now, on to the
other types...
Art Trophies
What I'm trying to gain now. (And if you're reading this, then I've accomplished
my goal! Woohoo!) Go ahead, write, draw, sketch, rhyme, whichever. Examine,
criticise, and revise what you've created, then send it in (yes, it is required
that you send it in - it won't magically appear on the page by mental prowess.
Trust me, I've tried). However, be prepared for disappointments - I've yet to
win any of these, despite multiple attempts. *sigh* Tip for artists - make sure
to check out the upcoming themes!
Flash-Game Trophies
You have my never-ending admiration if you manage to win one of these. Myself,
as a mere Neopian mortal, can never hope to obtain such a lofty goal...
Mystery Pic Trophy
"Search every nook and cranny! Did you check that page? Oh no! What about
the trading card pictures? Ahhhh!"
If you want to go through all that, go ahead (but go early). I give it a try
myself every now and then, hehe. Good luck!
Lenny Conundrum
Talk about headaches! I don't have much to say here, except try to get
there as early as possible. Have fun!
Beauty Contest Trophies
Ooh, the one type of trophy that actually belongs to your pet! Now that's
a plus. Try to make your picture as eye-catching as possible (colour is good),
and your caption short and sweet. Humour never hurts!
Better Than You Trophies
Same advice as Mystery Pic and Lenny Conundrum - go early. Get there as
soon as possible. Get a nice trophy (or medal) and brag that you were on a real-live
game show.
There! I hope you enjoyed this article, and feel free to Neomail
me if you have any questions, comments, or criticism. Now go fill your trophy
cabinet! |
