A Very Aisha Surprise

by squieshie

Untitled Document "Why do I have to go to the 'Secret Lab' with you and rayneboery today?" I complained to my owner, squieshie.

"Relax, Taitl. It'll only take a few minutes, then we can come back home," replied squieshie. She was getting ready to go get my sister, rayneboery zapped.

"The Lab ray is dumb. You can only get zapped once a day, and sometimes nothing even happens. I think you wasted 120,000 Neopoints for nothing."

"But-" squieshie started, but I cut her off.

"And why is it even called the 'SECRET' Lab Ray?! Almost everybody in Neopia knows of it. It should have a better name."

"Maybe I'll just leave you and Waffle-Ducky here to play," my owner suggested, pointing to the baby Gelert. She smiled evily at me.

"NO! She'll do her karate moves on me. Every time you leave my with her, I get beaten up! I'm coming with you!" I hid behind squieshie's leg.

"That's better. Now lets go. Xraie has probably been waiting forever down there." squieshie opened the door, and we all piled out of the house. We were supposed to meet Xraie, my sister (who is a purple Draik) at the secret lab, because she was out doing some shopping near the entrance to the secret lab.

"I wonder what it will do today," rayneboery, the pink Kacheek asked, thoughtfully, as we were running down Soup Alley.

"HA! Probably something horrible. Yesterday you went down to level one, and you were already at level one!" I told her, flashing an evil grin towards her.

     She rolled her eyes.

When we got to the entrance to the secret lab, sure enough, Xraie was standing there with a bag of groceries in her hands.

"What took yo guys so long?" she questioned, handing the groceries over to squieshie.

"We had a little stubbornness that kept us a while." She coughed, "Taitl."

I grinned. "Lets just get this over with, okay?" I opened the door leading to the gigantic line of pets ready to use the Lab Ray

"There are a lot of pets ready to use the Lab Ray," rayneboery said, getting her place in line.

"We'll be waiting right here," squieshie assured her, sitting down on a bench.

"Okay. I'll be back soon... hopefully." rayneboery moved up one place in the line, then another, then another, and soon a whole sea of pets got in line behind her, and we lost track of the little pink Kacheek.

"This is getting boring," I said, minutes later. "And plus, you said it would only be a few minutes until she got zapped, then we could all go home and live the rest of our lives by not sitting here and being bored."

"She'll be done in a few minutes! AAH!" squieshie yelled.

"Fine, fine. Whatever you say." I turned my back to my owner, and she turned her back to mine.

Ten minutes later, rayneboery still hadn't come.

"I'm getting impatient," I said. "And bored. I'm bored! Are you listening? I'm Bored!"

Squieshie didn't say anything. All I saw was a smile she was trying to hide.

"When the heck is she gonna come back out?" I questioned, now getting really annoyed.

"Hi, guys," said a voice. It sounded like rayneboery's voice, but I didn't see her anywhere.

"W-What?" squieshie stammered. "Rayneboery? Where are you?"

"Uh... right here," A light pink Aisha replied with extremely long ear stalks, and white swirls on her body. Her ears, legs, and tail all ended with a streak of silver.

     "Rayneboery?!" asked Xraie, shocked.

     "Is that you?" questioned Waffle-Ducky.

"Whoa!" squieshie said. "You sure changed! What happened?"

"Well," rayneboery started, swinging her extremely long ear stalks around. "When I got to the front of the line, I found a stone on the ground. It had the exact same markings as my coat, but it had little Aisha ears on top of it. It was kind of weird. Then when I went to get zapped, I turned into this, and the crazy scientist dude said that as long as this stone was my very own, I would remain in this shape and color forever, and the lab ray couldn't change me into anything different." The Aisha held out the stone. It looked just how she described it.

"That's weird. Well, if you like how you are right now, I suggest you keep the stone!" squieshie said, cheerfully.

"Don't worry- I will," rayneboery replied, grinning, happily.

And so, just that morning, she want from being a simple Pink Kacheek to a very special Aisha with very special markings.
