In Response to "How the poor get poorer: An Opinion"

I think that all of the classes in Neopia should try their best to get along. If we don't then Neopia will end up like an oppressive society- not unlike feudal times. The poor will be either begging or having their money taken away by the rich, who want more money, although they already have some. People work hard to earn their money. If you classify yourself as a poor person or even a bit better off than that, there are still ways to get many NP. It doesn't take a lot of time- I play once or twice a week for 1-2 hours on a 56K modem, and I have a happy existence in Neopia. Take it from me- I joined near the start of NeoPets, and I've fought my way into the higher class. Here are 7 good tips for getting a bit more wealthy:

1. Play the flash games and get good at them; some of them REALLY pay off when you get good.

2. Open up a shop - a small one is fine - make connections with other people- you advertise their things, they'll do likewise for you.

3. Keep some rare items, but not all - if you have a rare item you want to use, then use it or store it, but put one or two rare items in your shop, and you'll really get good publicity.

4. When you've made some money off of free games, go for others, such as the slots, Gormball, and Dice-A-Roo. In these games, along with all of the fantastic stuff you can get just by playing. You can also get many NP or some items from random events, which will occur frequently in a game like the slots. You switch screens every time you play, and you can also get small sums of money from your position on the map.

5. Save some money in the bank. Every time you get some NP, set aside 1/2 or 1/4 of them, and you will slowly but surely build up some money. I've often thought myself broke only to go into the bank and find I still have some of my savings left.

6. Play the stock market. Invest in 4 or 5 NP stocks. They can grow very well and they're low-risk because they're so cheap.

7. Make peace, not war- even though you might be frustrated that there are people more fortunate than you, there's no reason to bug them. You might get kicked off even and be forced to start again. If you make friends with people, they will be very willing to help you out in times of need. Anyway, these should help you get up on your feet and start making money.

Most important of all - NeoPets IS A GAME - you're supposed to have fun, so don't go around flaming people for being rich, there's no reason to get frustrated over being poor in the game, you can recover. I leave you with these words: "Don't get mad, get even!" It counts for a lot more if you accomplish something rather than bringing someone else down.
