Perhaps I hadn't noticed the sign above the cash register. "All Sales
Final: No Refunds!" it read. Terror Mountain was quite cold the afternoon
LiliaLu and I decided to go shopping. It would've been more welcoming
if there wasn't that enormous lodge…
However, once we reached the top, our feet were tired. Although the wind
was extremely powerful, we decided to stay. "LiliaLay," asked LilaLu,
"let's stay up here. I'm too tired to go back down."
I nodded as I rode upon her back. "What's that?" I asked.
"That's the Garage Sale! I've always wanted to go in there… C'mon!"
And so we raced, hoping to beat any other customers to Neopia's greatest
sale. The door was extremely heavy, and the Uni I rode upon couldn't open
it. I, a tiny PetPet, couldn't even grasp the handle.
"Hmm," thought LiliaLu aloud, "Should we knock?"
"No. Ring the bell," I said.
LiliaLu reached up with her silky paw and pulled on the chord, dangling
from the roof. Suddenly, the door opened. We gasped at the sight of all
the magnificent items. To the right were items for NeoPets, to the left
were Faerie items, and to the back were mysterious items. No one knew
what they were or what they did. Curious, I got off of LiliaLu and headed
towards them. LiliaLu headed for the Grooming Section of the NeoPets items.
About an hour later, I shouted, "Come 'ere!"
"What is that thing?" asked LiliaLu.
"I'm not sure… It's only 20 Neopoints. Can I get it? Oh, please," I begged.
LiliaLu nodded. "Maybe it's magic! Imagine if it was worth a lot! 1
million Neopoints, would say the owner of the Neopian Auction House!"
LiliaLu reached for her purse, and handed the cashier 20 Neopoints.
"Thank-you, LiliaLu!" I shouted, playing with the thing. "I'd just like
to know what that thing is," she sighed.
After we left the Garage Sale we visited the Snow Queen… hoping that
perhaps she would know what it was. "You're asking me? Do I look like
the Brain Tree? For Heaven's sake! Let me be… I'm trying out a new spell."
Several hours later, as the sun was setting, we began our journey down
to the valley. However, something told us not to go down there, a mysterious
force was pulling us back up the mountain. By the time we had climbed
back up again, it was dark.
"Why'd we come back up here? Did we lose something?" I asked.
LiliaLu shrugged her shoulders. "Well, we can't climb back down now.
It's too dark. Should we go stay at the lodge for the night?" she asked.
I hesitated. It looked so frightening in the night… it's large towers
pointing towards the sky. "I suppose."
To be continued...
