NeoPets for the Working Person

by littlelysshu

Ah ha, you thought you were rid of me didn’t you? After My Guide to Cheat and my other prolific writings you thought, “Now surely she doesn’t have anything else to say...maybe NOW we’ll have some peace.” In your dreams! Because I'm a working person, and the friends I have gotten addicted to NeoPets are ALSO working people I’ve had to develop a few time-management techniques to assure that a working person can work, have a life, and keep their NeoPets happy and healthy! Sounds impossible?

General Tips:
1) Only get one or two NeoPets! I’ve got four, and believe me it’s hard to take care of all four of them, especially since it’s hard to make any NP in the limited time I have online at night!

2) Adopt, don’t create pets! For one thing it takes less time, for another it decreases the number of unwanted pets out there. And just look at them! They’re so sad!

3) Shop in large quantities for everything. Spend all your in-hand cash when you have time; so when you don’t you don’t have to hunt all over Neopia via the Shop Wizard to find what you need!

4) If you get a Faerie Quest, ask one of your online friends who plays NeoPets to use the Shop Wizard and find them for you. Or, reject the quest. The Shop Wizard is the ULTIMATE time-saver.

NeoPet Care Tips:
1) Get your pet either to Bloated or Very Bloated ASAP. It means more days between feedings, and less worry about your pets. And don’t worry, this does NOT mean they have or will get the sickness Bloat. I’ve been doing this with all four of my pets for months and the only time they’ve EVER gotten sick is from the darned Wheel of Excitement.

2) Get your pets up to Delighted by playing with them, reading them stories, playing games with them, taking them to theme parks, whatever it takes. Then get them a PetPet. These little critters keep your pet at Delighted FOREVER.

3) Don’t take ‘em to the Battledome! It takes up too much time, there are no real rewards, and it can damage your pet, costing heartache, expensive healing potions, or trips to the Healing Springs.

4) When you DO have time, read to your pet as much as it will let you! Go shopping and stock up on books; build up its’ intelligence. After all, who knows when you’ll have time later?

5) Grooming your pet isn’t REALLY necessary once you get them up to “delighted”…they don’t actually get dirty or get sick if you don’t groom them. But it is fun...if you have time.

6) Don’t bother with the Training School. This is only good if your pet is going into the Battledome. It is SO hard to find those cursed codestones, and that is time I know you don’t have to waste.

7) If you DO have time, go on a Treasure Hunt Quest, a Snow Faerie Quest or a Witch quest. The things you get are great to trade or auction!

8) Don’t make your pets get jobs when the Faerieland Employment Agency opens. The fatigue and decrease in their mood isn’t worth the extra NP

Earning Neopoints FAST:
1) Open a shop, and get it as big as you can as fast as you can! It doesn’t even have to have anything IN it, but on NeoPets SIZE does MATTER.

2) AUCTION STUFF! If your pet doesn’t like something, has read a book already or gets bored with a toy, auction it! You can also put it in your shop; but for some INSTANT cash, use the auction.

3) The Trading Post is wonderful to get things you really want and don’t have time to look for. If you find things like Codestones, Map Pieces, spooky food, Faeries and so forth, put them all together in a lot and put what you want in your Wish list. Have patience…your wish shall eventually be granted!

4) Wish at the Wishing Well on a daily basis. Sometimes a multi-times a day basis.

5) Start a Bank Account! Put a little at a time in there when you can.

Neogames on a Time Limit:
1)Play Neogames that are fast and have a good consistent earning for you. Examples might be Kacheek Seek, Techo Says, Kiko Match or Poogle Solitaire.

2) Avoid like the PLAGUE games that you aren’t good at, don’t pay consistently or take too much time. My choices for this one are the Space Faerie Puzzle, any of the Cave games, Scorchio’s Quest, and Dice-A-Roo.

3) When you have TIME, play the more time-consuming games like Cheat or Gormball. They can give you a good kick in the Neopoints department.

4) Do NOT try for the Scratchcard Game. The odds are so against you, and if you lose there’s 500 hard-won NP (and the time you took to win them) down the toilet.

5) Also avoid the Wheel of Excitement. The payoffs aren’t that great and if your pet gets Neopox the pizza runs on an average 2000 NP…NP it can take a LONG time to earn if you’re short on online time! This is doubly so for the new Wheel of Mediocrity!

There you go--some helpful hints on how to make the most of your limited schedule. Above all, spend a little time with your pets every day; even if it’s only to peek in for five minutes and brush or feed or play with them once. It will help keep them happy, and will let them know you care. Now that you’ve read this article, what are you doing still sitting here? Get a move on...and give your pet a hug for me!
