Hello, my name is Tina, and I live with my sisters Baby
Blue and Usulia. I'm an Aisha, Baby Blue is a Flotsam, and Usulia is,
well, an Usul. We live happily in a Neopian paradise with our owner. She
adopted us from the Neopian pound. Our stay there was very painful, but
I am not here to tell you about that because you're probably thinking,
Oh boy, another sad story about the Neopian pound. I am here to tell you
about my life with my new owner, Kit. She adopted my sisters and me when
we were all beginning to lose hope. When she came in and we saw that she
was going to adopt us, a bunch of level 1, low stat, average Neopets,
we were thrilled and dreamed of a life with a rich Neopian. We were in
for a big surprise. Obviously she didn't have much. She had even less
after getting us because it costs money to get animals from the pound.
We entered our new home enthusiastically and looked around the small home.
Baby and Usulia didn't say anything, but I (and I am ashamed to tell you
this) looked at Kit and said, "The pound was nicer."
Kit just looked at me, then took us into the kitchen
to give us some food. It smelled much nicer than what we had been getting
at the pound, but I sat stubbornly and did not eat a bite while Baby and
Usulia talked, laughed, and stuffed themselves with food. Later we were
taken to our new bedrooms. They are comfortable but not at all luxurious.
I sat down on the bed and looked at my companions.
"Wow," we all said at the same time. I said to my best
friends, "I think we have to get out of here! We need to find someone
who can afford to get us nice things! And if we do stay here then we definitely
have to let her know that we expect the best." Baby and Usulia looked
at each other, and looked at me. "What is the matter with you two?" I
demanded.
"Well, it's just that..." Baby began.
"We are perfectly happy living here, we don't want to
live anywhere else. At least we're not at the pound, and Kit could have
created a new pet and received Neopoints for doing it. Instead she decided
to adopt from the pound, and pay extra to help us," Usulia finished for
Baby Blue.
I was stunned. While we were in the pound, we had all
spent our days discussing how much we would love to be adopted by a wealthy
Neopian and taken to the most luxurious of homes to spend the rest of
our days living in pure bliss.
"Well then," I said, "if you two aren't going to help
me then I guess I'll have to do it myself." With that I left the room.
I didn't know what I was going to do, so I simply explored the house.
I snuck down to the kitchen because I was hungry from not eating any dinner.
I found Kit sitting at the kitchen table with her back to me, talking
on the phone. I stayed in the shadows and listened to what she was saying.
"Yes, Dr, I completely understand... no, not at all!
I had no intention whatsoever of returning her or the other two! It's
just that... she doesn't seem happy here. I have done all that I can,
but it isn't enough. Baby and Usulia are perfectly fine, they ate as much
as they wanted, and talked, laughed, and shared stories from their lives
with me, while Tina sat at the table and scowled at all of us.... No!
I won't do that! I'm not going to return them to the pound, I just wanted
to... of course I don't want my money back! I just want to know what kind
of food Tina enjoys, and what she likes to do so I can make her happy.
I was planning on taking the three of them to an amusement park tomorrow,
then to the Poogle Races and the Faerie Library. I'll see how it goes,
then I will figure it our from there.... Yes, of course. Thank you for
your help, Dr_Death."
With that, Kit hung up the phone. She leaned on her elbows,
which were resting on the kitchen table, and sighed heavily. Silently,
I turned around and went up to bed. I was awake for a long time thinking
about what I had seen. So she really planned on keeping us, even after
I had treated her so horribly... well, I would see about that. I was going
back to the adoption agency to be adopted by a rich Neopian, and there
was nothing that pauper of a Neopian could do about it!
To be continued...
