How to draw the Library Faerie : Printable Version

Start off with a basic curved shape for the Library Faerie's head. Divide her face into quarters, like the red lines show.

Add a pair of curved eyes just slightly above the horizontal line that divides the Library Faerie's face. The one that is furthest from view (her left eye) should be slightly smaller.

Draw a guide for her torso, like so.

Using your guide, draw the shape of her upper body. Don't forget to connect the head and shoulders with a neck!

Add in her upper arms, which begin at her shoulders and end at her elbows. They should be slim and slightly curved.

In this picture of the Library Faerie, her left arm will be across her chest and her right arm will be raised. Draw this now, like so.

Erase any extra lines you may have that are no longer needed (such as the guide for her torso). Now add in her close-fisted hand.

It's now time to draw in her hair. The Library Faerie generally has long hair, but occasionally she likes a change of style.

Add some basic features to your Library Faerie's face, such as eyelids, pupils, a nose, and a mouth. Also, give her pointy ears that stick through her hair - a trademark of all faeries!

Draw in her fingers on both hands. Those on her left hand should be resting against her chest, while the fingers of her right hand are positioned for her to say "SHHH!" to anyone talking in her library.

Give your Library Faerie wings, which can be any style you like. This faerie's are curved at the top, like so.

Erase any extra lines you have, and add a pair of glasses and sleeves for her shirt.

Add some texture to your Library Faerie drawing. This includes a collar on her shirt, an inner ear, a fringe, and other texture for her hair.

Get rid of all unwanted lines, then add in some colour and shading to complete your Library Faerie!
