How to draw an Ixi : Printable Version

Begin by drawing one large circle. This will be your Ixi's head. Then draw a smaller circular shape underneath This will be your Ixi's muzzle.

Next draw two more overlapping circles to create the body shape. Join the first circle to the muzzle with two lines. This will create your Ixi's neck.

Now you need to add the forelegs. First draw one circle, that overlaps your two body circles. This will be the right leg. Then draw two curved lines to create the rest of the leg. Then draw a circular shape slightly below your body. Then join it to your body with two curved lines, like so.

The back legs aren't really that visable in this pose. Draw on the right back leg by adding a circular shape just below the body. Then draw a small curved line just below the body circle to make the leg a little more defined. For the other leg, try to copy this image as closely as possible. Finally draw a small tail shape on the top of your Ixi's behind.

In this step you will give your Ixi's face some more shape. Draw two almost triangular shapes, one on either side of the muzzle to create your Ixi's cheeks. Under the muzzle draw a small curved line to form the bottom lip. Then add two ears, one on either side of your Ixi's head.

Erase some of your guidelines so you picture is a little clearer. It should end up looking something similar to this.

Draw an ear shape inside each of your Ixi's ears. Then add two small horns, one on either side of the head. Your Ixi's nose should be a triangular shape. Once you have drawn on the nose, add a small line that joins the nose to the bottom of the muzzle.

Now add a little detail. Each leg needs to have a curved line drawn across it to form a hoof. At the front of each hoof draw a little triangle. Then draw on your Ixi's collar (don't forget the little diamond-shaped jewel).

Now you need to finish off your Ixi's face shape. Begin by drawing an almost almond shaped eye on either side of the head. Then draw a small line on each side of the muzzle to make the muzzle shape a little more angular. Then draw another curved line that arches over each eye. At the upper end of this line draw in another, smaller line to form an eyebrow. Lastly draw a little line on either side of the muzzle to create a little smile.

Draw two circles, one inside the other inside each eye, like so. Behind each horn add a little curved line. On either side of your Ixi's smile draw a small curved line to form a wrinkle. Then draw one more line to divide your Ixi's chest and body.

Make your Ixi seem a little hairier by drawing jagged lines over your smooth edges. Try to copy this picture as closely as possible to get the finished effect.

Now erase all your extra guidelines and you are left with a finished drawing of an Ixi. This is quite a hard Neopet to draw, so don't worry if it didn't turn out perfectly first time. It does get much easier with a little practice though :)

If you want to really make your Ixi complete, why not add a little colour or shading?
