How to draw The Words of Antiquity Shopkeeper : Printable Version

Start by drawing a circle for the Nimmo's head. Then, make a long, slightly bent line, which will serve as a guide when drawing her body.

Next, draw a short line across the guide line you made in the first step. This line will become the Nimmo's shoulders. Then, draw two bent lines coming from either side of the shoulder line. These will be the Nimmo's arms.

Lightly sketch a pair of crossed lines on the head circle. These lines will serve as a guide when you draw the Nimmo's face later. Then, make a triangle on the end of the shopkeeper's left arm (which is on your right) and a rectangular shape at the end of her right arm (on your left) for her hands.

Using the guide lines you made in the last step, begin to draw the Nimmo's face. Give her a pair of rounded triangular eyes, and be sure to include some curved lines in them for her irises (the coloured part of the eye). Then, make her wide, smiling mouth. Finally, draw her hands.

Now, give the Nimmo's head a bit more shape and definition. Next, draw the shopkeeper's long robes. Include some oval shapes around her hands for her sleeves.

Add some more detail to the shopkeeper's clothing by drawing her long tunic and making its cowl neck and patterned edge. Also, include some trim along the ends of her sleeves and the hem of her skirt.

Erase any extra lines you might have on your drawing. Then, draw the large rucksack in which the shopkeeper carries her precious scrolls.

Since this shopkeeper is a dealer of scrolls, add a few of her wares to her rucksack. Remember to include the one she's holding in her left hand (which is on your right) as well.

Now, give the shopkeeper's clothing a bit of Lost Desert flair by adding her decorated headdress and some designs on the hem of her tunic and skirt. Then, draw the bandages that are wrapped around her right hand (the one on your left). Finally, make the shopkeeper's feet, which peek out from beneath her skirt.

Erase all of the unneeded lines on your drawing. Your picture should now look like this.

Now, give your portrait of the Words of Antiquity shopkeeper some colour using anything you'd like.

To make your drawing look extra-special and realistic, include lots of shading and highlights.
