Neopets - How to Draw Kanrik

How to draw Kanrik : Printable Version

Start by drawing a circle for Kanrik's head. Lightly sketch a pair of crossed lines on it to help you draw his face later on. Then, make two large shapes for his upper and lower body. Draw a line on the shape you made for his lower body to form his legs, and then connect his head and body shapes with short lines.

Next, begin drawing Kanrik's arms. Start with two circles on the upper body shape for his shoulders. Then, make two smaller circles for his elbows. Finally, add a circle for his right hand (which is on your left) and an oval for his left hand, and then connect his shoulders, elbows, and hands with short lines. As you're doing this, keep in mind that Kanrik's right arm (on your left) is bent and his hand is raised.

It's now time to add Kanrik's long Gelert ears and tail to your drawing.

Begin to make Kanrik's clothing by adding his belt to his waist and across his chest.

A good thief needs plenty of places to hide his loot, so add some pouches to the Gelert's belt.

Continue working on Kanrik's clothing by drawing the left shoulder (on your right) of his tunic.

Next, add some more tools and supplies to Kanrik's belt, such as a pouch for his Neopoints, some coiled rope, and the hilt of his dagger.

Include plenty of detail on Kanrik's tunic, such as trim, buttons, and folds. These make the fabric look more realistic.

It's now time to start drawing Kanrik's face. Using the guide lines you made in the first step, place his eyes, snout, nose, and mouth. Don't forget to include Kanrik's distinctive scar. Finally, add some hair peeking out from beneath his hood (which you'll make in the next step).

Thieves need to be able to sneak around unrecognised, so give Kanrik a hood to conceal his identity.

Erase any extra lines you might have on your drawing. Then, draw the top of Kanrik's cloak, which covers his neck and shoulders.

Draw the right side of Kanrik's cloak (which is on your left) flowing over his shoulder.

Next, make the tops of Kanrik's high boots.

Begin filling out the arms of this Gelert thief by drawing the upper part of his sleeves.

To complete Kanrik's arms, add his fur-trimmed gloves and divide his paws into separate fingers. He will be holding his dagger in his right hand (on your left side), so make sure that this hand looks like it's gripping something.

Erase any leftover lines you might still have on your drawing and then add Kanrik's dagger to his right hand.

Your drawing is almost complete! Add some finishing touches, such as a pattern on his tunic, a buckle on his belt, and a patch on his belt-pouch, to give your drawing extra character. Finally, fill in Kanrik's nose and pupils, along with making a few shadows around his hood.

It's now time to give your drawing some colour. You can use anything you'd like, from crayons to paints!

Give your picture a bit of added depth by including plenty of shading and texture. You should now have your very own portrait of Kanrik, leader of the Thieves Guild!
