THE WISHING WELL - Whenever you win a contest, make the high score list for a
game, get something into the Art Gallery, or actually get something from the Wishing
Well, you get your username posted. When you get your username posted, you almost
instantly become popular or mildly famous (whatever you want to call it). Who
wouldn't want to become famous in Neopia, right?
You start to get piles of fan letters and requests to become Neofriends… What's
the downside of this, you may ask? I'll tell you (and get rid of my anger towards
it…).
The Basics
First, lets start with the Neofriend requests. It's great that people want
to become your Neofriend, but why? If you ask them why, most of them respond
with, "I don't have any Neofriends :( ," or, "Just because." Neither of those
are good reasons. Furthermore, users who request to become your Neofriend right
after you get your username posted… Well… They just want to become your Neofriend
because they think you're rich, famous, or have a successful account. People
should be your friends not because you're famous, they should be your friends
because they like who you are. I suggest you just block your Neofriend requests
altogether.
Let's take a look at your new events… What!? A guild invitation!? This is a
rare thing to get when you become "famous." It's quite annoying if you already
have one or more guilds that you love. Basically just block your guild invitations
by clicking here.
Speaking of guilds, let's talk about guild members. Okay, so here's the deal.
Some diddly bobble goes to the chat boards and mysteriously find's out a movie
star's username. Let's just say that this movie star is the leader in their
guild. Well, the diddly bobble joins the guild just because the guild leader
is a movie star in real life. You should join a guild because you like the topic
it supports, not because the guild leader is a real life movie star.
Common Questions
So… you've finally sorted out that jumble of 'New Events' and come across the
questions in your Neomail, huh? Just to clear things up, the questions will
vary… Confused? Let's clear it up even more by giving an example! *squeals with
joy*
Example:
If you win a certain trophy (and whatnot), you often get questions related
to that trophies topic.
Cleared up? That's great, 'cause now I can move on, you diddly bobble!
Basically, I'm just going to list the questions by their topics… If that makes
any sense… Yeah.. I'm confused too. I'll get going before I confuse myself even
more. Heh heh…
Your Main Little Questions (or Comments)
These questions/comments are little blips that diddly bobbles usually send
you… Diddly bobbles can send you mostly praise for your good work (and Neopoints),
asking for their pets to be your pets' boyfriend/girlfriend, and the occasional
"hate" mail… P34r Th3m! They also ask for Neopoints/items/whatnot, so watch
out (and delete those Neomails!)!
Art Gallery/ Beauty Contest
For all those artists out there that actually win the BCs and get into the
Art Gallery! These questions include such things as art requests/trades, but
most of the time, it is just praise. If you do or do not want any art requests/trades,
please post so on your userlookup. Unless you want to be annoyed the fuzzles
out of by answering the same questions over and over and over again… Yeah… I
thought so…
Game Scores
It's most likely you'll get some "jealously" Neomails that claim you have cheated
or created a program to get your hard-worked-for high score. Just ignore these,
as the Almighty Team (aka The Neopets Team) have made it so that the high score
tables are cleared every month or so. If you become "famous" with your game
score, then I doubt you'll get much Neomail about it.
Neo Times
Basically, when you get into The Neopian Times, you usually have many questions.
These questions include questions that can often be answered in the Chat Rooms,
or in the 'Help' section of Neopets. I suggest you help these people out by
either answering these simple questions, or directing them to a place that will
help them.
The Wishing Well
Wishing Well, Wishing Well, give me what I want! Sure, it's pretty random and
rare when you get something from the well. When you do get something,
though, you're usually bombarded with questions about the item. Such questions
include:
- What is/are [ insert item name ]?
- How much did you put in the well?
- When did you put your "donation" in the well?
(Just a little blip: When you get something from the well, it's completely
random…To my knowledge anyway)
So… Finishing up…
No matter what, just stay calm when going through your famous pile of 'New
Events' jumble! If all else fails, blame the Almighty for placing you in your
fame-stricken pose. If that fails, then go ahead and rant about it to
passing Starberry plants. Even if that fails, go and be a diddly bobble and
post endless posts on forums or chat boards…or just make a website about it…
Author's Note: A diddly bobble is my own unique word for a
silly person… I hope you found this article remotely enjoyable, because half
of it is humorous (to me anyway)… Go ahead an Neomail me with your comments,
fan/"hate" mail, and the occasional question if you want. You never know! I
may actually respond! Oh yeah, I'd like to thank an anonymous person in the
forums for a suggestion/add on! Thanks!
