Chias Shouldn't Have to Wear Leashes by turkeypen | |

"This is third time this year! Why do you keep doing this,
Kaekae?" Jen angrily questioned her Chia, pointing her finger at it in accusation.
"I can't help it," the tiny yellow blob replied
innocently, looking up at her owner with big, sad eyes and sticking out her
bottom lip, "Besides, you never get mad when Coma eats Chias!"
Jen sighed, she losing her temper with Kaekae.
"Coma is a Lupe. Lupes are supposed to eat Chias. What you're doing is just
wrong! Also, -"
"Hey, Jen?" Kaekae interrupted slyly, glancing
at the clock, "Aren't you going to be late for work?"
"AAAAHHH!" screamed Jen as she glanced at the
clock, "I'm going to be late!" She then rushed to grab her briefcase, which
was packed and ready on the floor by the door, as usual. "By the way, just to
remind you," Jen called back to her Chia, her attitude suddenly exceptionally
cheerful, "Please don't eat anymore Lupes! Soon our neighbors will want me to
keep you on a leash! See you tonight!" With that said, she zoomed out the door
and set off running to her job at the National Neopian Bank.
As she turned and headed up the stairs to her
room, Kaekae crossed her stubby arms and murmured to herself, "It's not my fault
I have a Lupe craving and unusually sharp teeth!" As she got to her room, she
angrily slammed the door and then headed to her closet for her secret stash
of Chocolate Lupes. "It's just not normal," the yellow Chia mocked her owner
as she plopped onto her bed with some of her stash, ripping off the head of
a Chocolate Lupe. "It's just not fair! If a Lupe can eat a Chia, a Chia should
be able to eat a Lupe! Besides, it's not like I want to eat them! I just have
to, I'll go crazy if I don't!"
"Hiaya, Kaekae!" a blue fuzz ball shrieked as
it bust through the door, flinging it wide open.
"Aaah! Coma!!" Kaekae shrieked, hiding what
was left of the Chocolate Lupes behind her back, "Don't you know how to knock?"
"Yup," the Lupe replied, giggling, "I just don't
like to. It's more fun to see you shriek." She then leapt up on the bed and
lay down on the bed next to Kaekae. "So, what are you going to do today?"
Absentmindedly reaching over to briefly scratch
her younger sibling's ears, Kaekae replied, "I don't know. Hang around the house,
and maybe I'll go to the marketplace to buy some more Chocolate Lup-… err, Chocolate
Lollipops."
Coma, sitting upright perkily at the mention
of chocolate, piped, "Chocolate Lollipops? When did they come out with those?
I wanna get one!"
"Coma, they came out with them, umm, last week,
and we'll see if the shops have any in stock when we go later today. If they
do, I'll buy you some," Kaekae replied, shifting on her bed, considering she
starting to sink down into its ever fluffiness, and also a little because she
didn't really enjoy lying to her younger, ignorantly bliss sibling.
"Awww, but I don't wanna go later!" Coma whined,
"I wanna go now! Please?" She then looked up at Kaekae with big, puppy-dog eyes
on the brim of fake tears.
Kaekae stared into her watery eyes harshly,
but soon her harshness turned into pity. "Oh, all right! You win!" Kaekae grumble
throwing her arms up in defeat, "Let's go!"
"Yay!" Coma yipped happily as the two got off
the fluffy bed, Kaekae having a bit of difficulty.
The two them then ran downstairs in a silent
race. They then put on their coats and got on their shoes, Kaekae having to
help Coma due to the fact she kept putting her jacket on either backwards or
inside out and getting her shoelaces tied in giant knots. Kaekae then raced
to the kitchen, and with the aid of a stool, she grabbed a hefty amount of Neopoints
and shoved them in her jacket pocket. Ready to go, the two sisters headed out
the door and towards the marketplace, Coma prancing happily along the sidewalk
and Kaekae trudging behind her.
Soon they had arrived at Neopia Central, even
Kaekae slightly eager, for the chocolate factory just might have a full stock
of Chocolate Lupes waiting for her. Her mouth watered at the thought of Lupe…
"Lookie Kaekae!" Coma interrupted Kaekae's drool
worthy daydream, "The toy shop! I wanna go inside! Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty,
pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty-"
With a roll of her eyes Kaekae grumbled, "Alright,
go inside, but make it snappy!" With that said Kaekae handed Coma a paw full
(Or whatever Chias have for hands) of Neopoints. Coma then bounded happily inside
the shop. Kaekae, grumbling to herself, leaned then against a nearby brick wall
casually. Then, suddenly, a feeling came over her. At first it was just a tiny
tickle at the back of her brain, but then it started to grow. The tingling spread
over her hands, body, and even over her tiny Chia feet inside her sneakers.
And within this tingle was a notion. Do you know what that notion was? Eat a
Lupe. Then that notion spread all around Kaekae, until all that her mind and
body were thinking, was Eat a Lupe
Just then, Coma came happily out of the store,
a rubber duck tucked underneath her arm.
"Hi Kaekae!" Coma said cheerfully, "Look what
I got. A rubber duck! Isn't it cool! It's so yellow and smooth, and sparkly,
and-"
"Muuust eeaaat Luuupe," Kaekae said turning
to Coma with a vicious glint in her eyes, "Muuust eeaat Luuupe!"
"Kaekae," Coma whimpered, "Are you alright?
Is everything okay with you? Your eyes, they look so scary, and you're saying
funny things… oh no! Lupe craving!" With this realized, Coma bounded away as
fast as her Lupe legs would carry her, Kaekae close on her heels. "Rabid Chia!"
Coma called out, "Lupes, run for your lives!"
Of course, by now, almost the entire marketplace
had noticed the commotion, due to the commotion and the strange sight of a Lupe
running in fright from a rather strangely evil-looking Chia. That day, many
people were confused for life. Many, many people. Some, in fact, were mentally
scarred. Most of these were Coma's fellow Lupes.
A Lupe running from a Chia, imagine that! It's
not supposed to be that way at all! Well, anyway, back to the story and our
main characters, one in great peril.
As she raced along the street, Coma thought
to herself, This is it! The end for me! I never thought it'd end this way! Of
course, not many Lupes would, but that doesn't matter! I just don't wanna die!
Of course, all that was going through Kaekae's thoughts was the phrase, Must
eat Lupe!
Then, suddenly, something very, very strange
happened. As she saw the tall, brick wall in front of her, Coma had an idea!
Now, this may not seem significant to some, but for Coma, this was a life-changing
happening. Obviously, she decided to carry out this idea of hers.
"Alright!" she called to Kaekae, skidding to
a stop in front of the wall, "Come and get me!"
Of course, Kaekae, in her hypnotized state,
ran straight at the Lupe, wanting to eat her all up on a silver platter. Just
as Kaekae was about to run headfirst into her stomach, Coma gathered all her
energy and leapt atop the brick wall, safe and sound. Kaekae, on the other hand,
ran straight into the wall.
A few hours later…
Kaekae awoke in the comfort of her own home,
in her own bed, Coma and her owner huddling over her. She had an ice pack on
her swollen head.
"What happened?" she asked meekly.
"You had one of your Lupe cravings. You tried
to eat Coma, but ended up running into a brick wall head first," Jen explained.
"That why my head hurts so bad," Kaekae decided.
"This means I'm going to be in bed for a while, huh?"
"Yup," Coma chirped, "And guess what else this
means?" She then lifted up a long, skinny object made of cloth.
One month later…
"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Jen remarked to Kaekae
as they, as well, as Coma, strolled through the marketplace, ignoring the snickers
and stares from people and Neopets who passed by.
"Yeah, whatever," Kaekae grumbled, tugging at
the leash around her neck.
The End
Author's Note: I have absolutely no opinion on the Lupe/ Chia debate. Just
to make every one happy, Lupes should eat Chias, Chias shouldn't be eaten by
Lupes, and, just for Kaekae, Chias shouldn't have to wear leashes!
