The Guide to Eating Wisely by glowing_dreamz | |
WORLD - Having problems trying to find food to feed your pets? Don't have enough
Neopoints to purchase the food you need? Well, no need to worry… because in this
article, I will be focusing on one main thing: learning how to eat wisely. I have
noticed that some of the Neopians that I've come across have had problems trying
to feed his/her pets… usually because of the lack of Neopoints he/she may have.
For my guide to eating wisely, it will introduce various ways to save yourself
a lot of money and time from feeding your pets, hopefully… helping any Neopians
who have encountered such starvation problems in the past. Hope it helps!
Free Sources of Food:
Coltzan's Shrine: One of the free sources of food in Neopia is Coltzan's Shrine.
Coltzan's Shrine can be found in the Lost Desert, which is a shrine that is
dedicated to the late King Coltzan III. Neopians regularly visit this special
and enormous shrine every single day, to see if the spirit of the great king
will grant passers precious gifts that include strengthening a pet's stats or
giving out free Battledome items or food. Though Coltzan's Shrine is a game
of luck, it does offer its wonderful gifts occasionally. Try your luck there…
you never know, you may be gifted with a piece of food from this ancient shrine!
Fruit Machine: Another free source of food that I know is the Fruit Machine.
The Fruit Machine is also another game of chance and luck, never guaranteeing
any sort of prizes whatsoever. One day… you may win glorious riches from this
machine, while other days… your luck may run out, and you may gain nothing from
one spin of the Fruit Machine. Though you are not guaranteed a 100% chance at
a profitable spin, it does offer its occasional wins… which may give you wondrous
gifts, such as: food, Neopoints, and paint brushes. But whatever the case may
be, the Fruit Machine can be used for free once a day. Take a spin at this machine,
and hope that you may come upon useful gifts for yourself and your pets.
Giant Jelly: The Giant Jelly is another free and common source of food. Unlike
Coltzan's Shrine and the Fruit Machine, the Giant Jelly offers any Neopian that
passes by… a 100% chance of getting a scrumptious jelly, if there is any jelly
left. This Giant Jelly is probably the 2nd best free source of food on Neopia,
next to the Giant Omelette, which I will be explaining later on. Each jelly
that is taken from the Giant Jelly lasts for two bites each, unlike many of
the other foods in Neopia. But, remember… you must be quick! The delicious jelly
runs out fast… so get your free daily portion of jelly while it's still available!
Giant Omelette: The Giant Omelette is a definite free source of food, closely
resembling the Giant Jelly that is found in Jelly World. Unlike the Giant Jelly,
the Giant Omelette offers free omelettes, which cannot only be eaten twice…
but three times! A free source of food that you can receive each day, and can
last three bites… a marvelous food source indeed! But… same goes for the Giant
Omelette, you must also be quick… for it usually runs of free food at the end
of the day!
Healing Springs: The Healing Springs is a special and magical place owned
by the beloved Water Faerie, which is located in Faerieland. The Healing Springs
is a home of relaxation and healing for all pets who venture there, as the kind
Water Faerie offers those pets many things, such as: free potions and snowballs,
curing pets from horrible diseases, healing pets' hit points, and feeding pets
for free. Though you are not guaranteed a 100% chance of getting your pet fed
from the Healing Springs… using the springs are for free. As they always say…
it wouldn't hurt to try!
Meridell Rubbish Dump: The Meridell Rubbish Dump is one of the newest things
that have been added to Neopia. The Meridell Rubbish Dump is basically a Meridell
version of the Money Tree, which I will be discussing about next. In this dump,
many sorts of Meridell items can be found for free. Anyone can go to this dump,
regardless of how much NP you have. Since there are no limitations of any sort
in this dump, this makes it an ideal place to get free food, since about one-third
of the donated items in the Meridell Rubbish Dump are some sort of food.
Money Tree: The Money Tree is one of the best and most common places in Neopia
to get free items of all sorts… from codestones to Neopoints. Unlike the Meridell
Rubbish Dump, the Money Tree does have some limitations. For example, the Money
Tree only allows people with a total of less than 20000 NP to get anything from
this generous place. The Money Tree is located in one of the most visited places
in Neopia… Neopia Central. This is also another wonderful alternative to get
free foods for your pets, as long as you have less than 20000 NP in total!
Soup Faerie Kitchen: The Soup Faerie Kitchen is a wonderful and helpful place
where free soup is offered to pets with financially-struggling owners. In my
opinion, I believe that this is probably the 3rd best place in Neopia to get
free food. Unfortunately, there is a strict limitation for the free food, since
only really poor people with 2000 NP or less can get handouts from this kitchen.
But… aside from that, the Soup Faerie Kitchen is a wonderful place to feed pets…
since there are an unlimited number of soup handouts that can be given to pets
whose owners don't have enough NP to support feeding them.
Tombola: The Tiki Tack Tombola is basically a daily raffle that is found at
Mystery Island. Every single day, millions of Neopians can take their chances
and try their luck at winning wonderful prizes from the Tiki Tack Tombola, which
includes prizes… such as: NP, gross food items, faeries, and codestones. Even
if you don't win at the Tiki Tack Tombola, you still get a booby prize for trying.
Often, these booby prizes are gross food, which are given for free. Overall,
the Tiki Tack Tombola is a wonderful place to get free food… if your pets don't
mind the gross foods' bad tastes.
Small NP-Costing Sources of Food:
Dice-A-Roo: Dice-A-Roo is a low-costing game of 5 NP, where luck is all that
matters. By throwing the dice and being lucky, poor Neopians can earn lots of
Neopoints and unique food from this inexpensive game. Only 5 NP per game, and
yet… the prizes are worth so much more. Overall, this is one of the very few
games where plenty of food is offered; definitely a food source that should
be considered.
Earth Faerie Quests: The Earth Faerie quests can be a low-costing food source
if the item that is asked by the Earth Faerie is relatively cheap. In many cases,
I do know that the Earth Faerie's food feast, which is the prize for completing
the quest, is often not worth the item that needs to be bought to complete the
quest. But, there are rare cases that the Earth Faerie asks for very cheap items…
which makes her quests, a last resort source of food for your pets.
Having a Grarrl/Skeith: Grarrls and Skeiths are known to be the only two pets
in Neopia that can eat any kind of item, which gives the owners of these pets
an advantage when feeding them. Instead of having to feed them like other pets,
owners of these two pets can feed them cheap 1 NP items, as a substitute for
food, saving these people a lot of NP.
Neolodge: The Neolodge is basically Neopia's most popular hotel, where Neopets
can go and have a vacation there. At the Neolodge, for a certain price, Neopets
are taken care of for the duration of their stay and are fed as well. For as
little as 5 NP per pet, your Neopet can be fed and taken care of. Out of all
of these different food sources, this one is my personal favorite… since it
saves much time and money, especially since I'm not allowed to go to the Soup
Faerie Kitchen or the Money Tree.
Well, that's it for my guide to eating wisely! I do hope that these different
food suggestions help any struggling Neopian greatly with their pets' feeding
problems. Of course, if you are trying to reach a high-score for the Gourmet
Club, this certainly isn't a good guide to follow. Only follow this guide if
you are strictly feeding your Neopets with regular food, or if you are short
of NP. Until next time, good bye fellow Neopians!
