"DeepMirage… come…" Dae looked around scared, that voice
sounded all too familiar. The light ahead of his grew stronger and he could feel
a breeze blowing as he advanced down the corridor.
"Fang, stay close, it could be dangerous down
there!" Dae sped up a bit to catch up with his deformed friend, he had his suspicions
about what was ahead, and if it was what he thought he knew to be cautious.

"Here we are!" Fyora stopped in front of a large grey cloud, she flew into
in leaving Mikey, Merlina, Toby and a still rather sleepy Kaweo waiting.
"What now?" Toby asked looking at Mikey.
"I guess we follow her!" Mikey placed his hand
in the cloud and then brought it back out, "Seems safe," Mikey said as he flew
in. Toby, Merlina and Kaweo looked at each other and then proceeded to follow.
"Finally, come on, the Faerie is just up here!"

"Come… come… DeepMirage… come!" The voice grew louder and it made Dae shudder,
he hid his fears, he couldn't have his apprentice seeing his fear, what kind
of master would he be if he was afraid of a voice.
"Dae, I hear a voice it is telling me to come!"
Fang said as she looked around, Dae may have been good at hiding his fears but
he was bigger than her, she was petrified.
"I hear it too, Fang, and I know who it is,
the shadow Usul!"
"But you all defeated her!"
"Yes you did!" Fang and Dae stopped and looked
at feet in front of them, the feet had purple sandals on them, Dae proceeded
to look up and see what the feet belonged too, it had a purple dress with black
on it, wings, arms and a head. It was a Faerie, "DeepMirage, my child, you have
come home!" The Faerie clicked her fingers and Dae and Fang were taken to a
room, it was painted in purple and hung on the walls were banners of shadow
pets, the same banners that the shadow Usul had in her castle.
"This isn't my home, my home is on Faerieland
with Mikey!" Dae protested, he didn't like the looks of this place, it reminded
him all too much of two years ago.
"But you see dear child it is, you know how
you were created to be a shadow Kougra, I created you, here! I am the shadow
Faerie DeepMirage!"

"Baelia, we need your help, Jenifyuri has DeepMirage, the young pet that defeated
the shadow Usul, we need you to help us find her!" Fyora signalled the others
to be quiet. Mikey looked, there was a Faerie dressed in raggy clothes on a
chair in front of them, next to her sat a red Kyrii.
"I cannot help, but someone he knows can!" Baelia
pointed to Mikey, he looked shocked and scared all at once.
"Someone I know?"
"Yes, the young girl who was with you when the
Usul was defeated, the shadow was never defeated, it went into her!"
Mikey thought, there were two girls there, Sari
and Fran, "Which one?"
"The one you call Sara, all this time she has
been helping Jenifyuri build back an army of shadow pets ready to strike again,
I have known this for some time but I am too weak to do something, you must,
you must find Sara and use the shadow to take you to the shadow realm, you are
the only hope for Neopia!"
"Here we go again!" Mikey sighed, this all seemed
too familiar, saving Dae and finding out he had to save Neopia, still he did
finally know why Sari had 4 pets one week and 3 the next, she was sending them
to Jenifyuri.

"There is no such thing as the shadow Faerie!" Dae looked at her again, this
couldn't be real!
"Oh I assure you dear child there is, I'm quite
real, I worked for Jennumara an evil Faerie, I was responsible for helping to
cage the grey Faerie, when I was captured I was sent here, the shadow realm,
I learned how to control the shadows and I am now the shadow Faerie."
"That may be but I'm not staying here, let me
go!"
"That is not possible DeepMirage, you freely
entered my realm, once evil enters it can never leave." Jenifyuri smiled, everything
was going according to plan.
"I'm not evil, I'm good!" Dae looked shocked,
he couldn't be evil, he defeated the shadow Usul, he defended Neopia, if he
was evil he would have ruled himself.
"I'm sorry you are, why do you think we try
and rule Neopia so often, it's the evil in you. You were created that way, to
be evil, to try and rule and now you've come home my child, you hold the key
to helping he escape, you can free me and help me rule!" Jenifyuri laughed.
"I may be evil and can't leave but Fang isn't!
Fang run!" Dae turned around and shouted at the Puppyblew, she ran into the
wall with no luck, she was trapped.
"Foolish boy, you've made her evil, there is
no way you can leave, you must embrace your destiny, the shadow Usul may have
come close to ruling but she could never have let me free. Don't you see? You
defeated her, you are the only one strong enough to free me!"
"I didn't defeat her! The faeries did!"
"Exactly, and only the faeries can free me,
you will bring them here and just as they try and destroy me I will move out
of the way, causing their power to tear an opening from this realm to Neopia
and then I can be free!"
"I'll never do that!" Dae protested.
"Oh but you will, you will!" Jenifyuri clicked
her fingers and a shadow appeared above Dae, it entered him and his eyes glowed
purple. "Do you understand what you must do?"
"Yes your highness!" Dae disappeared in a puff
of smoke leaving Fang alone in the room.
"Come here little Puppyblew!" Jenifyuri smiled,
she had a pet as well as her child.

"Sara! SARA!" Mikey hammered on Sari's door, he couldn't believe it, all this
time she'd been evil!
"Cool it!" Sari opened the door.
"Take me to the Shadow Faerie now!" Mikey pounced
on Sari sending her to the floor, her blonde hair covered her eyes but Mikey
could see them glow purple, she was evil!

"NO!" Jenifyuri fumed, she ran her hand through the image of Sari's house,
this wasn't going to happen, she wasn't going to let it. She picked up her wand
and threw it into the air, a shadow appeared and entered it. She was safe; she
would be free.

Sari looked around, she was confused, disoriented. "Did we do it? Did we defeat
the shadow Usul?" Sari looked at the expression on everyone's faces. "How did
I get home? Mikey? Fyora? What's going on?"
"Sari, we defeated the shadow Usul two years
ago!"
"She's taken the evil back!" Fyora exclaimed
as she looked around as a shadow fell through the ground. "She's taken the shadow
back to her realm, no wonder Sari doesn't know what's happening!" "Shadow, what?!"
Sari looked puzzled.
"It will all be explained soon!" Mikey, Fyora,
Merlina, Kaweo, Toby and Sari turned to look at…
