Defenders vs. Juhne the Liberator

by monarchistknight

Author's note: In Week 126 of the Storytelling Competition, you find a character named Sebastian who joins the D.O.N. His power is to communicate with Fuzzles, and, while it's not mentioned, fly. He is a Shoyru. Hey, not every Defender flies! Can Stretchy fly? Noooo! Anyway, that's who Sebastian the Super Shoyru is. In the last section, it refers to a theft in Kauvara's Shop, which is the mission I am talking about. Liberator Juhne is made up, though. Now, on with the story.

A Shoyru and a Buzz were majestically flying across the Neopian sky. The Buzz was strong and muscular, while the Shoyru was young, but nonetheless strong. His strength relied in a little toy Fuzzle he carried everywhere. Meanwhile, on the ground, an electric Kougra, a squirmy Chia, and a powerful Moehog were following the Buzz and Shoyru. They passed the Hotdog stand, the Chocolate Factory, the Toy Shop, and the Auction House. They then turned right, and continued until they reached Kauvara's Magic Shop. A sad, beat up Kau, sat outside crying.

"What happened to this place?" asked Zeirn, the Electric Kougra. It was as if it was demolished. The building had big holes all over it, parts were on fire, and the whole thing looked ready to fall apart.

"I was robbed while I was having a short break for lunch. When I came back, the intruder knocked me down so hard I fell over unconscious," told Kauvara. "I woke up, looked inside my shop, and every single bottled Faerie in the shop was stolen. That's two months worth of Faerie collecting! Two months is about 50,000 Faeries! The robber also stole a dozen nanka bottles and some pressurized water. That's about all." Kauvara continued to cry.

"It's okay, Kauvara," comforted Sergeant Brexis. He put his Buzz hand around the poor Kau. "We'll find the robber, and return the faeries to you." He walked over to his teammates who were inspecting the area. "Did you find anything?" he asked.

"This," said Sebastian holding up a note. The note read:

I can't believe you people think you can trap Faeries, release them only to be trapped again, and get away with it! Well, no more! I'm going to capture every bottled Faerie and protect them from you, evildoers! ~ Juhne, Faerie Liberator

"Juhne. I know that guy!" exclaimed Brexis. "He used to be a Fuzzle liberator. Apparently, he thought it was cruel that Zygorax was zapping Fuzzles because all they wanted to do was eat his robot. Trust me, this guys whack."

Sebastian's Fuzzle seemed to twitch a little. "What's that Fuzzy? You remember being captured by him? You say you know where his hideout is? On the island right beside the one the secret lab is on, huh? Thanks Fuzzy!" Sebastian said, talking with his Orange Fuzzle. "Fuzzy says," Sebastian began, but he didn't need to. The other defenders had already left for the hideout. Sebastian shrugged and followed them.

     Meanwhile, in Juhne's underground hideout.

"My beautiful Faeries, are you not glad I saved you?" asked the maniac Zafara, Juhne. He was replied with thousands of muffled screams and pounding on glass. "No one understands the hero at first, but soon you'll be glad I rescued you. If I didn't, cruel Neopets would force you to bless them, let you go into the wild, and you'd be captured by Balthazar and be put back in jars. I, on the other hand, will keep you in your jars, forever! Doesn't that make you overjoyed?" Even louder screaming was heard.

"Let us free!" shouted an Earth Faerie.

"We don't deserve this!" exclaimed a Water Faerie.

"Oh, quiet. Someday you may enjoy living in those jars. Now I have more important things to attend to, like making sure no one tries to release you. Bye bye, my faeries." Juhne merrily walked to his large viewing screen. He could monitor all activity on his island with the contraption. He was about to leave, when he saw a Buzz and Shoyru flying near his island. Underwater, he noticed some bubbles that seemed to be coming from something underwater. He immediately pressed a button. All the doors to the room he was in sealed shut with a thud. "I didn't think the Defenders also supported Balthazar. Some Defenders they are. I guess I'll have to show them a thing or two," Juhne said to himself. He pulled out his nanka bottles and pressurized water.

     On the island's beach.

Stretchy panted hard. "We finally made it," he said exhausted and soaking wet. Zeirn, Strecthy, and Judge Hog had to swim all the way to the island. Sebastian and Brexis landed on the island.

"Fuzzy says Juhne's secret hideout is underground, and the entrance is under a large rock," Sebastian said. He started to look around for a large rock. He finally spotted a rock, and pointed at it with his wing. "Fuzzy says that's the right rock. Let's go and move the rock." The five Defenders ran as fast as they could to the rock. When they go there, Judge Hog and Brexis worked together to lift the rock, and with great effort and grunting, it finally was raised and dropped next to the opening to a hole. Each Defender jumped into the hole, and heard a voice.

"Well, it looks you found my hideout, and want to send the faeries to their doom, huh? It won't be that easy, evildoers! You must first get to me, I will not give up so easily. Look around you. See the six tunnels? Each tunnel represents a Faerie type, and one tunnel will eventually lead to my place, only one. You must brave the traps I've cunningly placed and get to me. Only one will reach me though, you evildoers, Balthazar supporters!"

     "Juhne, you're mad!" exclaimed Zeirn.

"Not as mad as you!" replied the maniac Zafara.

"It looks like we have no choice, but to play Juhne's little game," said Judge Hog. He and the others decided which tunnel to go through. One of the defenders would go through each tunnel. Judge Hog would take fire, Brexis air, Zeirn light, and Sebastian earth.

"Okay Strecthy, water or dark?" asked Zeirn, pointing to the tunnels.

"Not dark, but not water, I'm already soaking wet, and dreadfully afraid of water!" shivered Stretchy.

"So you'd rather have dark?" asked Brexis.

"Water!" said a frightened Stretchy. He rushed for the water tunnel entrance.

"So who gets the dark tunnel?" asked Sebastian. All the Defenders thought for a moment before Sebastian piped up. "Fuzzy can do it!" He put Fuzzy in front of the tunnel. "Fuzzy I want you to go through the tunnel and get to the end. If you get to a door, open it. Okay?" The Fuzzle began to go through the tunnel, while the others stood in astonishment, mouths agape. "See, that wasn't too hard. I put a wrist communicator around his foot, so if the door is in the dark tunnel, I can talk to him. Why are you all staring at me like that? Start going through the tunnels!"

Each Defender entered their appointed tunnel, and suddenly the entrances sealed shut. Sebastian pulled out his communicator, "Judge Hog, if only one door opens, then we're all trapped in here!" Judge Hog thought for a moment.

"Yes, Sebastian, but whoever gets inside can open the door. We can go back through the door, and pass through the tunnel." Sebastian turned off his communicator. He had chosen the earth tunnel. Everything was calm and serene. He started walking through the lush meadow, when suddenly, a giant tree sprouted out of the ground. Its roots grabbed him by the leg, trapping him. Sebastian screamed for help. He tried to hit the tree with his wing but to no avail. Now thorns were sprouting right underneath his head.

In the air tunnel, Brexis was flying towards the end. He had no problem so far. That was, until a huge gust of wind starting pushing him towards the beginning of the tunnel. It had such force that Brexis couldn't even move, was pinned against the closed door, and was being crushed.

Zeirn had trouble with his tunnel from the start. As soon as he entered, the light was far too bright, and he was being blinded. He covered his eyes with his paws, and couldn't move at all.

In the fire tunnel, Judge Hog was braving the flames, running towards the end of the tunnel. However the door wasn't there. He was stuck in an inferno with no way out.

Stretchy at first didn't have much trouble with the water, until the water started rising above his head. As quickly as he could, he stretched through the water to the end, but there was no door. He was drowning, and rapidly losing air.

Fuzzy walked through the evil of the dark tunnel without any problems at all. Being a Fuzzle he couldn't be affected. He just walked right through it, until he saw a big door in front of him. He remembered what his Shoyru friend said about opening the door so he pushed it and it moved, allowing him in. Fuzzy stopped. He hadn't been told what to do after this. Juhne, noticing the door had been opened, walked cautiously towards him.

"Oh, I was scared out of my wits by a harmless little Fuzzle. I guess I'll just put him over on the Control Panel, so I can play with him after I stop those Balthazar enforcers. Now back to stopping those Faerie rebellions," Juhne said placing the toy next to six buttons. They were red, blue, cyan, yellow, green, and dark purple.

Back in the earth tunnel, the thorns had started to wrap themselves around Sebastian's arm, and were cutting through his yellow spandex suit. As they did so, Sebastian remembered his wrist communicator. "Fuzzy must have the tunnel door, as no one has contacted me yet," he reasoned, struggling to turn it on. He pressed a button, and was shocked to see six buttons in front of him. "Fuzzy, press all the colorful buttons now!" he ordered. Fuzzy pressed the red, and the fire stopped. Judge Hog ran towards the entrance, glad to be out and alive. Blue lowered the water, and Stretchy lay on the ground, unconscious but alive. Cyan stopped the wind that was crushing Brexis, but also opened the door. Brexis went sailing into the wall behind him. Yellow turned off the blinding lights and Zeirn, who was dazed, confused, and blinded, started to turn around and feel his way back. Green shut down the earth tunnel. The tree that was ensnaring Sebastian and the thorns that were impaling him shriveled up into dust. He fell with a thud, and quickly ran back out. Finally, the dark purple button made the dark tunnel not dangerous anymore.

"Okay, is everyone here?" asked Judge Hog checking to see if anyone was missing.

"I'm here, as well as my cracked spinal cord," groaned Brexis. He slid off the wall.

"Stretchy's missing. He's still in the tunnel," said Zeirn. He turned around and saw that Stretchy was slowly making his way out. "Okay, we're all here."

"Good, then we're assaulting Juhne now," Judge Hog stated. The five ran through the tunnel, and opened the door. They saw Juhne standing before tens of thousands of faeries lined up on shelves. Juhne heard them and whirled around.

"The evildoers! How did you get through? Oh never mind it, you'll all perish for jeopardizing the safety of the faeries!" Juhne released a nanka bottle at Zeirn. The evil dark beam whirled around him and he fell to the ground. Suddenly, he twitched a little and then his claws showed, his fangs dripped, and he jumped and lunged for Brexis.

"Not again," sighed Sebastian, "This is exactly like that mission in the Haunted Woods. Brexis move four inches left." Brexis did so, and Zeirn banged his head into the ground. "Fierce, but stupid. Now, lets get Juhne!" The four ran towards Juhne. Juhne was prepared, but he was a terrible fighter. In fact, he was a downright coward. He grabbed his pressurized water uncorked them, and sent Brexis sailing back into the wall. He was getting used to it by now.

"Two down, three to go," he said running away. He ran to his control panel, and was about to push a button.

"Fuzzy, power kick!" shouted Sebastian. Fuzzy kicked Juhne unconscious, as Juhne was weak.

As the three picked him up, Judge Hog said," That was a little easier than I thought it was."

Stretchy looked at the faeries, wrapped himself all around each one, and then walked over to them. "Faeries secure!"

"Yes, but how will you get off the island?" asked Judge Hog, looking at the stretched Chia, who had somehow managed to wrap himself around 50,000 faeries.

"Brexis and Sebastian can carry me, hopefully Brexis's spinal cord will be 'unbroken' by that time," Stretchy said looking at Brexis who was continuing to gripe about his 'broken' spinal cord. After waking up Zeirn and Sebastian grabbed Fuzzy, the five Defenders made their way back to Neopia with the faeries, who were cheering inside their bottles, and Juhne, who was concocting another master scheme, all the way back to Kauvara's shop.
