I pressed my nose against the window. The city of Maraqua was fantastic, considering
this was my first time. I was a young purple Shoyru named Chibi at the time.
My owner, Liona and my brothers and sister were all excited as I was. Dirio,
my white Lupe brother was smug, Outcast my skunk Scorchio was playing with his
Gruslen Charmont, and my sister Nancy a silver Kougra brushed Ms. Lumpkins her
Angelpuss. My loyal Puppyblew, Mandy was sitting beside me.
"Now kids, we have got to stick together," said Liona.
"No problem mom. We will," said Outcast. Outcast was very mischievous and he
and Charmont always fooled around.
We got of the underwater cab and paid and then explored the shops which were
located through airway buildings. Cool huh. Dirio and Doglefox, Albert were
so mature and they didn't show they're excitement either.
"Okay, each of you can have 200 NP each and go shop on our own. We'll meet
back here in one hour." We all nodded and went our separate ways.
Mandy and I checked out the toys shop first. So many toys and Usukis! But
I hated Usukis, such ugly things they are. I had always hated fads. Mandy and
I looked all around every shop. We had twenty minutes left and nothing to buy.
But then it happened. A baby blue Kiko squealed and pointed out the window.
I looked out too. There coming faster and faster was an underwater twister!!!
"EVACUATE BUILDING IN AN ORDERLY FASHION!" called the loud speaker.
The owner of the little Kiko tried to grab her, but by the mob of the crowd
they were separated. I grabbed the little Kiko, who was too scared to object.
"Come on Mandy! We have to find mom and the others!" I cried. We charged to
the place we were supposed to meet them. Nobody of my family were there.
"I want my mommy," moaned the Kiko.
"I'll take care of you," I assured. We ran to the water cabs, but they were
already all gone! I started to panic. What if we didn't get out.
A skunk flotsam was trying to get to a cab, but she was too slow on the ground.
I ran to her and helped to to the area where cabs were filling up. It was too
late. The twister struck at full force. Water poured into the air chambers.
I was slammed so hard against the glass I was swept into the the storm, Mandy
holding onto my shoulder, and me hugging tightly to the Kiko.
The flotsam went under me and motioned me to hold on. I held the Kiko in one
arm and held onto the flotsam 's top flipper and helped her swim by kicking
my feet and flapping my wings. Mandy held onto my shoulder. We kicked and kicked,
I needed air, so did Mandy and the Kiko. My lungs expanded, I wouldn't make
it...

We reached the surface before my lungs burst. I gulped air and felt dizzy.
"Thank you so much," I croaked.
"I'm Samantha, hold on tight because the twister is coming our way again...
Just then a shadowed Jetsam came along. He was panting, when he saw Samantha
he smiled.
"Sammie!"
"Max!"
The two swimmers embraced. Samantha turned to me.
"This is my bro, but introductions later, come on!" I held on and Max took
the Kiko from me.
It was all a blur and finally we reached an island and waited...
The Kiko 's named was Squirt, and she was just a baby. Mandy was shaking and
I hugged her. Awhile after resting we swam a long way until mystery island,
where they had reached the news. And then in came the list of deaths. Squirt
's owner and sister were still alive, but Max and Sammie 's owner had lived,
but not they're other siblings. My owner was gone, my brother Dirio and Nancy,
Outcast made it. Same with his pet, and Dirio's and Nancy's.
Then a week later we put flowers in the water to honour the people who had been
lost under the surface. I had cried and cried and Outcast and I hugged and sobbed
together. We were adopted by Sammie and Max 's mom. Nancy 's pet was given to
Sammy, Dirio's to Max. We all cried together. Squirt became friend 's with us,
and so we hung out all together. My new owner, Jen was really nice to us. Life
goes on, but the past stays with us, forever...
