“What were you doing there?” Chia_Blu00 protested.
“I came there to get fresh water for my stew and I must have dropped my wand,”
answered the Jubjub Wizard. “When I left I spotted a Lupe roaming among the
bushes,” he added.
“Thanks for the information. Um, by the way, what is your name?” asked taytees1520.
“My full name is Wizley Wesley Wonder, but everyone calls me Wiz,” answered
the Jubjub. “You might want to check the dark cave for the Lupe I saw.”
“Thanks! Bye!” said Diva87 as the set off for the cave. When they reached the
entrance, Diva87 used her Torch ability to guide them through the darkness.
They slowly traveled through the eerie cave, unknowing what they might find.
The cave was quiet except for the dripping of water and some scuffling noises
every now and then.
“I’m scared!” Kacheek_Red00 said.
“Just stay close to me and you’ll be all right. Be careful, we don’t want
any Lupes getting you,” answered taytees1520. Chia_Blu00 scurried close to taytees1520
and held her hand tight. Diva 87 began to hear noises and alerted the others
to be very quiet. Taytees1520 approached the Lupe’s den and from a safe distance,
threw a small rock it. The Lupe opened its gleaming eyes and yawned. Chia_Blu00
saw all of the sharp teeth that filled the Lupe’s mouth and whimpered with fear.
“Excuse me?” taytees1520 interrupted.
“What are you doing in my den? How dare you wake me from my slumber!” the Lupe
growled.
“I think the question is what are you doing lurking around in the bushes of
Poogle Palace. Who are you and why have you come to Poogle Palace?” persecuted
taytees1520.
“My name is Voncello Viepe. I have lived in this cave all my life. My mother
was addicted to Deckball
when I was a pup so I never learned all of the skills a Lupe needs to know.
I knew that if I ever harmed a Poogle on this island I would be severely punished
so I was forced to develop a taste for other foods. I was foraging for food
in the bushes, but I try to stay out of sight because I don’t want to alarm
anyone,” answered Voncello.
“Do you know anything about the fading rainbow?”
“Well, I don’t know why it’s fading, but I did see a white creature lurking
around that area,” answered the Lupe.
“Does anyone else live in this cave?”
“I have seen a couple of Chombys, but they rarely leave the cave because they
grow their own food right here in the cave. I have never seen it because I have
not fully explored the cave for fear I might get lost, but I have seen them
caring loads of vegetation through the caves and also seen them carrying gardening
tools,” answered Voncello.
“Thanks for the information. I think that we’ll search the mountains for the
white creature that the Lupe saw,” said taytees1520 as they made there way out
of the cave. Diva87 suggested that they stop at a shop to buy some supplies
for their journey. They began to climb the treacherous mountain. Diva87 climbed
with great ease followed by the others. Chia_Blu00’s blubber kept him extra
warm while Kacheek_Red00 had to have four layers just to keep her from freezing.
When they finally reached the top of the mountain, they stopped to regain their
strength. After thirty minutes had passed, they gathered up their supplies and
continued their voyage. They came across a small village and knocked on a small
cottage door. The door opened slowly and out popped a Nimmo head through the
small opening.
“Yes?” the Nimmo cocked her head.
“We were wondering if you could help us,” Kacheek_Red00 began. “You see, we
have been sent by the Pink Faerie to find out who has been draining the rainbow
of its power.”
“It’d be an honour to help out the fair Pink Faerie. Come out from the cold
and warm yourselves. There’s hot cocoa on the stove and I’d be happy to answer
any questions you might have.”
“Mmmmmm I love hot cocoa,” Diva87 stated as they entered the cozy home. After
taytees1520 and her pets settled, they started to chat with the friendly red
Nimmo
“My name is Scarlet. We are all just so upset about the rainbow. Though most
of the population is made up of Poogles, there are other NeoPets who live on
the island.”
“Yes, we’ve met a couple of them. A Lupe told us that he spotted a white creature
lurking around the rainbow. Do you know anyone like that?” Chia_Blu00 asked.
“Oh I’m afraid you’ll have to be more specific than that, my dear. I know so
many white NeoPets In face, it’s quite common up here in the mountains.” Scarlet
spoke with a kind voice and seemed to be older than she had appeared at first.
“Do you think any of the white NeoPets you know could of down such an awful
thing?”
“Well, I guess that some of them would be quite capable of doing such a thing,
but I wouldn’t think that they’d do such a horrible act,” the Nimmo said.
“Would you mind giving the names of those capable and directions to where we
might find them?” Diva87 asked sweetly.
“If it will help you solve this mystery, then I’d be happy to help. Let’s see,
there’s Izzy, the white Meerca, Babs7989 the white Wocky, and possibly Snax54,
the white Skeith, but I’m not sure if he would commit such a crime. Those are
the only NeoPets I can imagine doing such a thing. Well, you better get back
to work. The rainbow could disappear any minute,” Scarlet said hurriedly.
“Yes, I suppose you’re right. Come on everyone,” taytees1520 said as she began
to put her coat and gloves on. After they thanked the kind Nimmo, they journeyed
to the frozen pond, where Scarlet told them that they would find Izzy. Izzy
was skating as she did often. Diva87 stared at her in wonder.
“I wish that I could do tricks like that. I wish I could skate, too,” Diva87
said to herself. When Izzy came to the side to rest and drink some warm cocoa
that she had brought, Diva87 ran up to her.
“You’re an excellent skater!” Diva87 commented. The others joined them and
started to chat.
“You better believe it,” answered Izzy. “What do you want?”
“Scarlet told us where to find you. We have a few questions for you if you
don’t mind,” Chia_Blu00 began.
“Well, I do mind. What was Scarlet doing telling you about me? I don’t like
nosy NeoPets, especially their nosy owners.”
“We’re just trying to figure out what happened to the rainbow,” Kacheek_Red00
protested. “Do you have any information?”
“I don’t know nothing about nothing and even if I did, I wouldn’t tell you
for all the Neggs in the world,” the Meerca sneered.
She skated away in a huff and left the Neopians at the side of the pond.
