The Lonely Peophin

by leiblitz

All NeoPets from Shoyrus to Lennys to mutant pets, all should be treated equally. But this is a story that turns the tides with this Peophin being treated the same.

Once upon a time there were three travelers, Mike a boy Neotrainer, and KiKi a girl Neotrainer, along with their NeoPet Namp the male blue Flotsam. One day they decided to take a trip into the sea, to see what mysteries lays in its watery depths. They got into a submarine, and set off into the sea. It was amazing, Kois happily swimming about, Flotsams playing, and the Jetsams were taking a nap after having a heavy snack.

As the travelers were lost in daydream at all the things a young blue Peophin was resting on the edge of a cliff. Her mother and father were destroyed by a group of Jetsam when they tried to protect her, she had managed to get away before the Jetsams could finish her off too. She was only a month old, she had gotten a little used to living alone. Yet she still wanted to have a owner, just to experience having someone caring and loving to take care of her.

The submarine then parked about 3 miles away from her. Her head shot up.

"Come on! Let's go exploring!" said Mike, "Okay!" KiKi replied, as they got their wet suits, masks, and air tanks and set out, Namp went with them too.

"Hey, look! coloured pebbles, hundreds of them!" KiKi gasped as she picked up a handful of coloured pebbles.

"Wow! neat-o!" said Mike.

They kept swimming when they suddenly came to a halt. There, they saw the little Peophin looking straight at them. They gasped to surprised to scream, they had never seen or heard about a Peophin before. The Peophin smiled and started to swim over to them. KiKi, Mike, and Namp screamed, "Ahhh!!!!" they swam away from the creature. The Peophin stopped, her smile coming to a frown, she slowly swam back over to the cliff. Mike turned around looking back at her, he swam over to her and slowly reached out and patted her on the head.

"Hey... You're not so bad..." KiKi and Namp swam over to Mike, KiKi started to pet the Peophin too.

Namp growled angrily, "They had just laid eyes on that...THING and they were already attached to it. Why won't they give me any attention?!" he said.

"Come on, you must need a good home, come with us," KiKi said,

"Okay," said the Peophin.

"By the way, what's your name?" Mike asked.

"Sio," the Peophin replied.

"Cool! I'm KiKi, this is Mike, and the Flotsam here is Namp," KiKi introduced everyone.

Sio looked at Namp who was mumbling darkly to himself. Sio blinked a little confused, "What's eating him?" she thought.

When they got to their NeoHome Sio gasped. "It's HUGE!!!!!" she said.

Mike laughed, "Well, thank you! We're travelers, we make a lot of new discoveries on Neopia and get a lot of money."

Sio immediately began to start exploring around the house.

At first, it seemed like this was a dream come true for Sio. But as the months went by, the tide started to turn.

"It's MINE!" screamed Namp.

"No, it's MINE!" yelled Sio.

The two NeoPets tugged on a Chia Plushie in the living room. Then suddenly Namp tugged harder then Sio and RRRRIIIIIIPPPP the Chia Plushie suddenly ripped in two.

"That was all YOUR fault!" Namp growled.

"No, it was YOUR fault!" Sio snapped.

They're heads pressed against one another as they eyed each other down while growling. Then KiKi came in and saw the ripped Chia Plushie, along with the floor being covered with stuffing and plastic beans.

"Who did this!?" she said.

"He-She did!" Sio and Namp said at the same time, pointing at each other.

KiKi thought Sio had done it, "Sio, go to your room! You're grounded for a week!"

"But...But...But--" Sio said.

"No buts, GO!" KiKi said firmly.

Sio slowly went to her room and slammed the door, tears in her eyes. Namp went into his own room a huge grin on his face. Then Sio was blamed for the Roller Blades when Namp had stuck his foot out in front of her making her trip and the wheels fell off. She was blamed for ripping out a Fuzzle's hair when Namp had did it when she wasn't looking. And the broken vase when Namp pushed her into the table making the vase fall and break. And the broken plates, and the table snapping in two, and the pillow feathers all over the living room, and the broken fish tank...

That night Sio lay awake in bed, "I'm too mistreated here, I'm the one being blamed and grounded when Namp is doing all the bad things. I am going to find a home that will respect me for who I am." She got up and snuck out of her window and snuck away back to the sea. She dove in and swam about relieved to get away from her old house. As swam somebody shouted, "Watch out!" She slowly looked up and smashed into a huge boulder... she blacked out. About a half hour later she awoke to a bed. Was she rescued by her old owner? No, it wasn't her old house. She had a warm rag on her head, she sat up to see a Koi who was preparing another hot rag.

"Excuse me," Sio said.

"Ah good, your awake" the Koi said, "My name is Genki. What's yours?"

"I'm Sio. Umm, where am I?" Sio wonder.

"At my home. I found you on the ground. Are you hungry?" Genki asked.

"Yes. Thank you very much for rescuing me," Sio said.

"Think nothing of it," Genki said, he threw a pear into the air and swam up and cut it, but with his fins! He held out a plate and pieces of pear landed on it. "Eat up!" he said.

Sio was amazed at how skilled the Koi was. "Thank you!"

Genki smiled at her.

Meanwhile...

"Sio! Sio, where are you?" KiKi, Mike, and Namp searched and searched for Sio.

"I have been a bit to strict with her..." KiKi sighed, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I'll bet she went back to the sea!" Namp said.

"Let's go then!" Mike said.

They ran out and started getting ready to search for Sio.

At Genki's House...

"A young NeoPet like you should know some self defence," Genki said.

"Huh? Selfdewhat?" Sio asked.

"Self defence. It will help you in battles. Do you want to learn it?" Genki said.

"Okay, sure," Sio replied.

"Great! Come into the training room," Genki said. He entered a code into a water proof machine and a large door opened revealing a big area with all sorts of gadgets. Sio's mouth hung open as she starred at it like it was a room full of Neopoints.

"Well, don't just look at it. Come in come in!" Genki said.

They swam in the door closing behind them. "In battle you can't dodge every attack sometimes it's best to use your defence. Here, you'll need these." Genki put large arm pads with huge padding, "I'll throw apples at you and you have to block them. Are you ready?" "Yeah, I'm ready!" Sio said. Genki swam over to a pile of mangos and started throwing mangos as fast and hard as he could. Sio was doing fine at blocking them, after a while all the mangos were gone. "That wasn't too hard was it?" Genki said, "Not......really....." Sio panted, "Think your ready for the next round?" Genki said. "Yeah!" Sio said. "In most battles, when you have nothing to help you block you simply need to dodge. This time instead of blocking mangos you'll have to dodge them." Genki said. After that Sio had to punch mangos away from her as her strength test.

Sorry for interrupting the story but in case you were wondering why all the tests include mangos is:

1. Genki doesn't like mangos so he wants to beat some up.
2. Because I couldn't think of anything else... *sweat drop* Now back to our story.

Sio laid on the floor panting. "You've worked very hard, why don't you rest for a while?" Genki said.

"T-thank you for the training," Sio said.

"You're very welcome," said Genki.

Sio rested for quite a while and when she was done she felt like a new Peophin! "Thank you thank you THANK YOU for everything Genki!!" Sio said.

"It was my pleasure, Sio," Genki said.

"Bye!" Sio said.

"Bye, Sio. Come and see me soon!" Genki said.

Sio swam out of Genki's house and decided to take a swim around. Now that Genki taught her self defence she could beat anyone who tried to pick a fight with her.

Meanwhile...

"There's no sign of her anywhere!" Mike said.

"I should've been nicer to her... instead of grounding her constantly...." KiKi said.

Suddenly a hungry Jetsam swam up to KiKi, Mike, and Namp. He licked his jaws, a hungry look in his eyes. "Hi-yah!!!" Namp said as he charged at the Jetsam pointing his horn at him, but it was no use, the Jetsam easily smacked Namp with his fin sending him flying into a wall.

"It looks like this is the end..." Mike said.

"Unless somebody hears us. HELLLLLLLP!!!" KiKi screamed.

"HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPP!!" they both screamed.

Luckily Sio heard their cries. "I know those voices, KiKi and Mike!" Sio followed the cries for help and she gasped. She saw the Jetsam about to eat her old trainers. "No... I will allow you do eat my old owners like you did my parents... Kale!" She stood up on a high rock and glared at the Jetsam.

"You....." Kale said, "You're that girl with the parents... Ha! My partner and I easily did quick work of them, and you know we're still a bit hungry for dessert!"

Another Jetsam swam up to him. "You called? ...Sio! Long time no see, ready to be eaten?"

"Be quiet, Ian, you don't know what you're in for," Sio growled at the other Jetsam.

"Sio!" KiKi and Mike said. "Be careful, Sio!"

"Don't worry," Sio replied.

"Enough! Get her!" Kale and Ian charged at Sio, pointing their jaws at her. Sio grabbed two large rocks and held them up like shields, Ian and Kale took a bunch of big chomps out of the rocks. Then suddenly the rocks shattered, but Kale and Ian swam up high then dove down straight at Sio. Sio dodged and the two Jetsam dived into the sand.

"Quit running and fight like a NeoPet!!" Kale and Ian ordered angrily.

Sio began to glow, Kale and Ian charged at her. Sio smacked Kale away with her tail fin, and pounded Ian into a rock with her hooves. Sio stopped glowing, the Jetsam slowly got up. "I can't believe we lost..." Ian said. Kale and Ian glared at each other. "This is all YOUR fault!" they yelled at each other, they were about to destroy each other by taking a huge chomp out of each other when a familiar voice called, "Kale, Ian, stop this nonsense this instant!"

"Master Genki?" they said.

"You two never seemed to get along, come home right now!" Genki ordered.

"Yes Genki....." they said.

"Sio, you saved our lives, how can we ever thank you?" Mike said.

"It was nothing," Sio said.

"Sio, I'm so sorry for all the grounding and stuff with you," KiKi said.

"That's okay," said Sio.

"Hey, I have to admit, you did good Sio," Namp said.

"Thank you!" Sio said.

So once upon a time, there were four travelers, who lived happily ever after in Neopia.
