“Viverna!” Triren cried. He ran down the stairs to his owners’ room. “Mother,
father, Viverna is coming back!” he announced.
Gwen grabbed her kerchief hopefully. “How do you know, dear?”
“I heard her cry, ‘Triren, I’m coming ba-”
His mother cut him off. “Dear, you’re just hearing things again. You were when
she was first destroyed, remember?”
“But this is different, mother! I know it’s her!” Triren argued.
“Dear, we all miss Viverna, she saved the entire Lupe Kingdom, but no matter
how hard we wish, she’ll never come back. I miss her just as much as you do,
she reminded me of Moonlusion. But Triren, honey, she’s never coming back.”
“You’ll see, mom. You’ll see.” Just then, a green Lupe scout knocked on the
door.
“Yes?” Baron asked.
“Your majesty, we have spotted a Lupe we do not know coming up from the area.
She is light coloured; she may be white,” the scout said.
“Great! A mate for you, Triren!” Gwen said, trying to spirit up the moment.
“NO!” Triren said, a little too sharply then he intended. “No mother. I will
marry no one. I will rule the kingdom by myself, if the need be.”
Gwen sighed, but did not say anything.
“Sir, what shall I do about the newcomer?” the scout asked.
“She’ll find her way to the castle. Do not worry about her.”
“Yes sir.”
Didn’the hear me? Moonlusion thought. Why didn’t he hear me? Moonlusion
continued running through the night sky. She should reach the castle in about
an hour. Don’t worry, Triren, I’ll be there soon.
And she was. In an hour, she was staring at the big, crystal doors of the castle.
I shouldn’t let anyone know that I’m me, Moonlusion, She thought suddenly
before she knocked. She rolled around into the snow until it caught and held
onto her fur. Now she looked like a white Lupe. When she knocked on the door,
she noticed that there were little Shoyrus carved into it, and smiled.
Techanmoss opened the door. “Yes?”
“I wish to see Triren,” Moonlusion said.
Moss laughed. “You can’t just see the prince when ever you want! He is busy!
He has no time for commoners!” Moss said as he eyed Moonlusion’s Anklet. He
began to shut the door.
Moonlusion put her paw in the door before it shut. “He has time for this one.
I know what happened to Viverna.”
“Viverna?” Moss questioned. “You know Viverna?”
Moonlusion nodded, trying not to laugh. Know her! She thought. I
was she!
Moss let her in the castle, and led her to a room which was furnished with
a Kauvara furniture. “Sit here, and wait,” he said.
“Tell him . . . tell him it’s a friend.”
Moss nodded.
“Triren, the newcomer is downstairs. She wants to talk to you,” Moss told Triren.
“Tell her I don’t want to marry her. My heart is set on someone else.”
“Sir?”
“What?!” Triren roared. He was not in the mood to talk about these things.
“She does not want to talk about that. She said she is a friend, and she knows
what happened to Viverna.”
“She knows what happened to Vivy?” Triren breathed.
Moss nodded. Triren pushed passed Moss and raced down the stairs.
Triren burst into the door. “You know what happened to Viverna?”
Moonlusion chuckled. “Do I ever!”
“This is no laughing matter!” Triren yelled.
“Well excuse me, Triren,” Moonlusion said.
“You have no permission to call me Triren,” he said heatedly. “You will call
me Prince.”
“OK, whatever,” Moonlusion said.
“Just because you know what happened to Viverna, that does not mean you can
come in here like you know everyone!” Triren growled under his breath.
“What, are you to used to talking to Shoyrus? I heard exactly what you said.”
Triren was about to say something, but decided against it. “And to answer your
question, I do know everyone!”
“W-What?” Triren stuttered. “How could that be? I have heard of no... what
is wrong with your fur?!”
“What?” Moonlusion looked at her fur and groaned. The snow was melting! The
snow was completely gone now.
“You’re a . . . Cloud Lupe?” Triren bowed down rapidly stricken with
panic. “Tikara-lu, I do not know why you have chose to come, but please excuse
my rude-"
“Triren, I’m not Tikara-lu!” Moonlusion laughed. “You know me as Viverna!”
“Viverna? How could that be? She was a Shoyru!” Triren protested.
“A powerful form of magic turned me back to who I really am-Moonlusion,” she
said tenderly. “I’m back, Tie.”
“Viv!” Triren cried, and bounded across the floor.
“Tie!” Moonlusion cried, and galloped over the floor. The hugged each other
tightly, and Moonlusion collapsed in Triren’s arms, and series of nuzzles and
cheek kisses passed between them.
“Triren?”
“Yes, Viv-Moonlusion?”
“I wouldn’t be here, if it weren’t for you.”
Triren smiled sheepishly. “I’m glad for that, ‘cause if you weren’t here-I’m
not sure I would be either.”
Epilogue: Moonlusion now lives in the castle with all her new friends,
and she has been reunited with old ones (Techanmoss was one of them). She still
dreams of going home like she promised, but she has no heart to tell Triren
that she has to leave, for he is her best friend around. Gwen and Baron were
ecstatic to find that their old Moonlusion was alive, and the war generals were
delighted to have her back as well. Well, as for Moonlusion, she has no job,
no duty. She wandered around the halls of the castle, talking to people, making
new friends and enemies. She went to balls, met important people, but that is
all another story, and saved for another time.
The End
Author’s Note - The characters in this story are real, well, at least
most of them are. Triren, Viverna, Moonlusion, Techanmoss, and Gwenderina can
be found if you look them up in the search boxes. Another story will soon come
out about Triren and Moonlusion. I hope you enjoyed this story, because I worked
so hard on it!
I would first like to thank all my friends who let me make the characters on
their accounts. I would also like to thank Triren and Moonlusion for telling
there story to me! |
