Blue Moon: Part Five by _drake_ | |
It had come two months time. Redden smiled as he came inside, holding several
brown bags full of food items. The Kacheek came, looking up at Redden. "What
did you get?"
"You'll see..." He went into the kitchen and the Kacheek followed, along with
the Aisha. He set the groceries on the counter and looked down at the two.
"...Where's Jekoon?"
"Um, hi... do you...want something?" The Eyrie asked as the door to his room
swung open, and Draco walked in. He growled furiously, glaring at Jekoon. "I
don't want anything from you, but revenge!" He yelled as he leapt at him. Surprised,
Jekoon basically tumbled out of the chair he was perched in, Draco landing on
the chair, his claws splintering the wood. Jekoon yelled and ran out the door
as Redden, kemme201, (the Aisha) and Den79 (the Kacheek) stumbled into the room.
Redden looked at Draco angrily. "What happened here?!" He nearly yelled. But
Redden never yelled. Draco looked at him, confused and frightened. "Look at
what you've done! You ripped up the chair!" Draco's expression changed to that
of surprise. Redden had thought he was playing a game! Draco decided to let
him think that, rather than get in trouble. He edged out of the room and hid
below the stairs. It was hard to find him below the stairs since no one knew
about it. The only way was to get in through the space between the stairs, and
because no light got down there you could not see it. He could never be found
if he went there. Still refusing to do anything with them, he snuck out for
food at night. He became rather unhealthy due to the lack of sleep. Two things
burned in his mind. Getting at that Eyrie, and escape.
"Come on! Get over here!" Shadn yelled, tugging on the leash, which held Drake.
It was the only way to keep him from running away when he took him to the Battledome.
Because of the Shoyru's odd ability of wind, he was immune to many physical
attacks, because he could easily stop them without even trying, and force them
back. Shadn had considered this before even adopting Drake. He was a Battledome
pet, though he completely refused as much as he could to go there. The thousands
of people made him feel so frightened that the first time he went, a tornado
nearly raged, until Anthony threatened him to stop or face being badly hurt.
Drake chewed at the leash whenever he could, hoping in anyway to break it, but
the material was too strong and he soon gave up, being nearly dragged toward
the Battledome. Danro had this time accompanied them. He walked alongside Shadn,
taking pride in his owner's battle history and such. They arrived at the Battledome,
after waiting sometime, Drake still shaking in fear, as he always did since
being near people, Shadn walked into the entrance, shoving Drake into the large
ring. The only thing that kept him from dashing into the air and flying away
was that he had tried it before, and an invisible force, like a shield, formed
like a bubble over the dome, though you couldn't see it, it was there. And still
he glanced up at the sky above. It was the same sky that hung over the forest,
and memories of his old life reached at him, though couldn't truly come rushing
back as the cheering crowd drown out his daze. Across the ring, a young green
Acara entered, clad in dark bronze armor.
A bell rung, echoing over the area as the fight began. The Acara rushed at
Drake, only to be astonished as it stopped, still running against the ground,
held back a few feet by the wind itself. The crowd to was surprised, wondering
how this weaponless Shoyru was doing anything. Shadn yelled from behind the
lines. "Do something! Don't just stand there and restrain it! Attack!" Drake
looked back, and saw Shadn yelling at him, and Danro growling. The wind ceased
as Drake leapt to the side, swiftly avoiding the mad leap the Acara made at
him. It went on for about an hour, Drake dashing from place to place, leaping
out of the way, not once making an attack, but avoiding all. He had no reason
to attack the Acara, and so he didn't. Shadn was turning red in anger; fists
clenched as he yelled ignored orders at the Shoyru that bounded across the sand
ground. Danro paced at his masters feet loyally. And finally, after some matter
of time, though it was never counted, stomped onto the field and drug him off,
forfeiting. Later, back at the house, Drake was yelled out for hours. The three
Lupes stood behind Shadn, obediently. He yelled at Drake, who cowered, his back
against the wall, he felt very trapped. After that night, no more did Drake
disobey. Anthony still had his cold grin, and was laughing silently about something
with Rob after Shadn had left, upstairs to bed. The flame Lupe prowled towards
Drake, walking around him in circles.
"Well, if anything's a shame, it's disobeying in the dome. So you cowered out?
Is that it?"
Drake glared at him and answered quietly. "He didn't do anything to me, so
I didn't have any reason to hurt him."
The three Lupes exchanged glances and burst out laughing. Danro cackled wildly
for a moment, then began coughing and shut up. Anthony grinned.
"So, you don't get the purpose of a fight?"
"But I didn't-" Anthony snapped at Drake, and he was quiet. "The goal of the
fight is to destroy your opponent. Only one can leave that ring." Though it
wasn't true, Drake was confused and believed it. Rob paused for a moment, not
understanding what was going on.
"Wait a minu-" Anthony glared at Rob. "Oh, yeah yeah I get it!" Rob nodded
rapidly.
"Good..." Anthony said as he walked upstairs.
The lights turned out throughout the house, leaving it pitch black. But not
for Draco. He could see clearly in the dark, having adapted to it. He crawled
out from below the stairs, quietly stealing from the kitchen what little he
could without making sound. He prowled through the house silently. Passing by
Jekoon's door, he stared for a moment. It was half open; he could easily slip
in and get rid of the Eyrie, revenge. But if he did that, he would be found
out very quickly, and they'd get rid of him. It was buried deep inside; the
restraint that kept him from doing it grew fiercer every time he saw Jekoon.
Draco frowned in anger and walked off, in hopes of finding an open window. Though
he never did.
The following day...
The dust slowly cleared, so much sand had been blasted into the air by the
wind, and no one could see who was victorious. Slowly the dust settled, and
the odd Shoyru stood there, the defeated Buzz laying half covered in sand. The
owner gasped, running across toward the fallen pet, carefully picking it up.
Slowly she looked up, staring at Drake. "You...you destroyed Rax!" The crowd
spoke in hushed voices. A man walked up to Shadn, yelling something. Then he
handed him a piece of paper and walked away. Shadn stormed over to Drake, picking
him up and heading home. After another long speech from Shadn, Drake glanced
at Anthony, Danro, and Rob laughing hysterically. They had tricked him, and
gotten away with it.
Sunray fell into a fitful sleep. Images rushed past him so fast he couldn't
tell what they were. He saw his brothers, restrained by an invisible force.
He was also restrained as he tried to run to help, though he couldn't get any
further. The sky above flashed, the moon rising high, blue in color. Suddenly
he could move again, though still they were trapped. He began to run. Suddenly
he awoke with a start. Sunray looked around. He was in the forest again. "Wha...what
was that all about..." he shook his head, and slowly fell back asleep, this
time dreamless.
