More Than I Could Have Dreamed--Apollette's Story by anastarr | |
I would have never dreamed that a scrawny young red Shoyruess like would ever
become a princess of an island... I mean, if you would have told me that when
I was younger, I would have said you were crazy. Believe it or not, becoming
Princess Apollette De'javro did not come easy, by all means.
I was brought up well enough, though my temper was famous through out the
land. My guardian, anastarr, would often tell me to 'try and go easy on your
brothers' I was the second oldest and only girl in the family. My fellow Shoyru,
Flaming_ash was far more outgoing than me and drug me around to various outings,
which is how I met my first love, Ocean_laughter. But months went by and Ocean
didn't talk to me, as many times as I tried to get his attention...so I dumped
him.
Off and on for the next few months, I was alone. Except for a few people. My
family, of course, and another friend, Terranis. Things were going great for
me. anastarr had painted me purple and I couldn't be more happy. But then Terranis
turned evil and nearly destroyed me. Frightened for what was left of my life,
I fled to the outer reaches of Neopia Central. More time passed and I eventually
ventured home only to discover Flaming_ash had also left to join a piracy. I
was crestfallen that one of my best friends had surely sealed his death wish.
But lo and behold, Ash returned and with him, his loot. The captain of the
ship had given him a Faerie paint brush in return for his excellent work. At
the time, Shoyrus nor Pteris could be painted with the faerie paint brush, and
Saturdaie, the resident Lupe of our family promptly refused to trade in his
'cool' fire look for a set of 'girly wings'. So, anastarr sent the paint brush
off to the Trading Post to see what would come about.
The next day, a mysterious package arrived at our doorstep. anastarr unwrapped
it curiously, and to our surprise, there was a Lost Desert Paint Brush within
it. Neither Kosea or Saturdaie wanted to be painted desert and Flaming_ash already
had a fetching shade of silver. Therefore, anastarr took me to the Rainbow Pool
that night and I was painted. Happy, we returned to the house. The next morning,
I woke with a sharp pain in my neck. I glanced at the mirror and noticed an
odd marking on the left side of my neck. The curved shape reminded me of a cobra.
I consoled one of anastarr's Lost Desert books about the cobra marking. What
I found would change me forever. A legend told of a Shoyru with the cobra marking
that would come to Sakhmet and rule over it. Underneath the legend was a hastily
drawn picture of a female Shoyru...the Shoyru in the ancient picture was ME.
The next few days were a whirlwind for me. The media had gotten a hold of the
whole situation and began blabbing about how the strange event was 'like a Cinderella
story, folks!', which annoyed me to no end. The representatives of Sakhmet's
Princess Vyssa
visited me and in very hushed tones, declared I could not take over Sakhmet
so soon in Vyssa's reign, regardless of whether or not I was the fabled princess
in the tales.
The Representatives did though, offer me something because of my overnight
fame. Tkaii Island, a small area just off the coast of Sakhmet. I gladly accepted,
happy for the fact I would have somewhere to get away from the nagging public.
I left Neopia Central quickly and settled down on Tkaii Island. It was a peaceful
place with a small population. Also to my surprise, a slight bonus. I met Terranis,
my friend from long ago. Almost overly happy to see him good again, I asked
if he would care to see Tkaii. Not only did he do that, but he also personally
volunteered to become my bodyguard.
Life again was--
The remainder of Princess Apollette De'javro's story was left unfinished...her
