OK, we are all familiar with the greatly renowned Mystery
Island Training School and its competition Cap'n Threelegs' Swashbuckling
Academy. But the real question is, Which
one is cheaper? Which one is more time efficient? Or all in all, Which
one is better?
Well, okay, let's take a look-see and do some comparison

First, and foremost, you have to decide for yourself, which would you prefer
Speedy, or Cheap and there is a real big difference so you
should really consider. Looking at the table above, you would see a simple
equation that most of the time, speed would cost you some money.
My suggestion is, go with CHEAP. Most of the time anyway,
you won't manage to re-enroll your pet immediately right after the previous
one ends. So I really recommend the Swashbuckling Academy over the Training
School.
Also....a very very VERY important thing to consider is that YOU
NEED WEAPONS. If you use so much money on training, you might
not be able to afford some really good weapons out there. Specially those
Hidden in a Tower somewhere. And if you save up those Dubloons, with
some luck, and persistence, you might be able to get some weapons
smuggled by some pirates to a cove somewhere. So again...go for CHEAP.
Level 1-10
At this point, the academy is about 50% cheaper than the training school. It's
pretty obvious that if you don't have that much money to splurge, just go with
the Dubloons
Level 11-20
When you reach this level, you should see that the training cost is almost
about the same, but the time exactly 50% shorter for the Academy. So at
this point, consider giving your pet a change of scenery and send it to Mystery
Island for training, (and maybe some shopping from the Tiki-Tack man)
Level 21-30
Here is where you need to do some decisions. Would you like to spend
2000 NP extra and enroll in the Training School, or spend and
extra 5 hours in the Academy? Well, here some idea. On
days when you don't have access to Neopets (maybe weekdays), send your pet to
to the Academy, and on days when you visit your Neopets more (like weekends),
send it to the Training School
Level 31-40
Same goes from the previous level group, except this time, it's an extra
7 hours. So think about that on choosing which school to go to.
Level 41+
At this point, your only choice is the Mystery Island Training School.
And of course, some people would say "HEY, WHAT ABOUT NEGGS??"
Those people would be referring to Sneggs, Cool Neggs, etc. But don't listen
to them. They are not worth the money. Yea sure, instant stats...but
with even that, it's totally not worth it.
Consider COOL NEGG
One Cool Negg is currently valued at 120,000 NP. And all it does is
give your pets 1 Level, 2-3 HP, 2-3 Strength, 2-3 Movement.
OK, now let's assume you were lucky and got the max possible. And let's
say your at above 81+ so you need 4 codestones per stat.

First of all, I did not add the Movement points in the tally everyone one
know that speed doesn't really count in the Battledome.
As I said before, Cool Neggs are currently valued at 120,000 NP and
at the best case scenario it only gives you 98 000 NP worth
of stats. And even if you add Movement points in, it would be worth about
126 000 NP, which is really not a very good gain, considering getting the best
roll possible is not that common. And what happens if you get the worst
roll?? You'd have wasted about 22000 NP (even if you count in the Movement points)
Though a COOL NEGG is worth about 42-60 Hours of training
time. So if you are one of those multi-billion NP stockbrokers and business
people....and totally impatient, COOL NEGG might be a good alternative for you.
Note that I only discussed COOL NEGG. This is because if you ever
consider using Neggs, a COOL NEGGS would be your best bargain.
So that's about it for today!!!
