Many people I know think the best way to get NP for your items is by making
a shop, making it big and buying things from everywhere to sell in your shop
for just barely more or sometimes even less than what you paid for! Others say
that auctions are a good way to get NP for the items. Well, not me, I believe
that the best way to cash in items is via trade. Yes trade, don't get me wrong
I don't mean to sound like those other options are bad. Oh no, I strongly suggest
a shop, I have one, who shouldn't? They are a pretty good way to make NP But
auctions, me personally I pretty much stay away from this, but whatever you
want. The reason why trades are good. There isn't a huge commitment. What I
mean is you don't HAVE to buy or sell it, like once something is bought it bought
to bad your done. But, in trades when you let go of it and what you let go for
is up to you.
Now, the reason I'm writing this is because trading is the best way for me
to trade in stuff that might have value. There are a few tips that I think could
help all of the Neopians reading this.
These tips are if you plan to start lots:
1. Put desirable things up for trades
What I mean is if you put a lot up with a Plastic Butter Knife I will almost
guarantee you will get no bids at all. Now if you were to put up something like
a Faerie, then I would guess probably you would get a bid in the next five minutes.
I once put a Space Map piece that I had a double of, I received a rare Battledome
item and 4,000 NP! That is what I mean by desirable.
2. Don't include things that are not of use to others
I believe this can help you in many many ways. What I mean is in a trade of a
Faerie or paint brush, *DO NOT* add things that are useless. This will make
bids disappear. It has happened to me. People don't want the extra things you
have in the lot.
3. Write a good wishlist
All right now, one thing that is very annoying when I go to see the newest twenty,
blaa's wishlist. None or try me or things like that. I recommend that you say
what amount of NP you are looking for, what items (if any), and state no junk
if that being the case and say that only reasonable offers are considered to
weed out any people who want to give you an omelette for a Faerie or Mote. I
also stress staying away from first offer and closes in five minutes, that might
just discourage people to bid. One other thing that I think that is kind of
obvious, but anyway, don't ask for a Codestone if the lot is for a Plastic Butter
Knife.
4. Don't make lots impossible to bid on
When I say this I mean don't make the NP price like 200k+rare item or something
like that. It just drives people away I think. But if your set on doing that
put in your wishlist, Neomail for separates (at least).
5. Cancel lots often if your not interested in your offers
I think that if you don't like the first two to four offers that you receive
just cancel the lot and re-post it. This way people will see it in newest twenty
instead of having to search for it.
Now if you are looking to browse lots, here are some tips.
1. Listen to people's wishlists
Very important as this can really change the outcome of the trade. You don't
have to listen word for word now, oh no you only need to give them some of the
things they ask for. It's just annoying to get a bid of a toothbrush and 100
NP for a Faerie (this happened to me) people don't want bids like that.
2. Withdraw NP and valuables before browsing
Even though you risk loosing these, you better your chance of the owner of the
lot to even see the offer if you don't have to go get what they want.
3. Never go buy what someone wants
This is very important because like above the trade could have already have
closed or of been traded by the time you return.
4. Don't spend more than one tenth of your NP on one trade
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT!! This can screw up the rest of your NeoPets account
for a long time. I won't even go that high. Anyway, just don't.
5. Never listen to people that say I'll give you my account or give you
a Web site to get NP
There isn't a person who shouldn't know this but anything that resembles
this is probably a scam, (sorry to the ones that aren't). That's all there really
is to say about that I think.
The following tip is for any time:
Use common sense
Just do.
Most of these are pretested by me except the ones that would mess up my account.
If anyone has any questions, Neomail me, become my Neofriend whatever. The only
reason I wrote this is that I want people to learn about one NP maker that is
good. And I hope that everyone did and will use the Trading
Post more often. |
