HAUNTED WOODS - Blimey! Hello, mates! It's me, Stevo
Furwin, here to tell you about one of my favourite parts of the Halloween
season--Spooky PetPets! While you might be thinking that these creepy critters
are too scary for your precious furry darling, that's not entirely true! Owning
a Spooky PetPet can be a very rewarding experience, if they're taken proper
care of. These eerie little darlings have special needs and requirements - and
you may not always understand what they're trying to communicate with you. I
went down to the Spooky PetPet exhibits in our zoo, and I picked out some great
PetPets for the Krawk Krew to talk with. Of course, Quivel was terrified of
the Walking Carpet, so he won't be appearing in this documentary. Quivel spent
time with a nice Bearog instead, while I talked with an Abominable Snowball,
and Keri spent time with a Gremble.
We started out by asking some questions to our volunteer PetPets:
What's it like being a Spooky PetPet?
When I asked this question to Snowagerling, the Abominable Snowball, he got
a bit riled and bit me right on the ear! It rather hurt! Keri asked Nipper,
the Gremble, this very same question. His only response was a ghastly moaning
noise. At least she didn't get bit! Quivel discussed the matter with Gilliam,
the Bearog. All three heads started to hiss and snarl. When we take a look at
these responses, we can see that it's often very challenging for these beauties
in the wild. It's not easy being spooky. In a place like the Haunted Woods,
even the most tender-hearted PetPet has to act tough, mate.
What should someone considering buying a Spooky PetPet know about you?
When I asked this to Snowagerling, his eyes glowed purple! Blimey! Keri's Nipper
made another ghastly moaning noise. We were beginning to suspect its last meal
hadn't quite agreed with it. Quivel cheerfully consulted Gilliam, who growled
really menacingly! Poor Quivel fell right off his chair and onto the floor at
that! From this, we can see that the PetPets were trying to tell us something
very important. If you're considering buying one for your pet, you're in for
a rolling good time! Never a dull moment with a Spooky PetPet around the NeoHome!
And in case of a power outage, they can even light up your room with some good
old eye-glowing action! How's that for handy? What resourceful PetPets!
Do Spooky PetPets need love?
When I asked Snowagerling this question, he surprised me by walking all around
the room, with his arms outstretched! Now, this was very surprising because
of two things - he didn't exactly have arms, and he didn't exactly have feet,
either! But sure enough, they sprouted right from the snow. I gave him a nice
hug, keeping my ears carefully averted, just in case. Keri asked Nipper the
question... and it made a ghastly moaning noise. Again. Gilliam didn't quite
answer the question - but all six of his eyes glowed red when Quivel asked.
Red is the colour of love, mates! And blood. But well, we'll assume that he
really loves us because the other prospect would just be disturbing! So you
can see by their responses that yes, Spooky PetPets do in fact need love. Some
more than others.
What does a Spooky PetPet look for in an owner?
When I asked this question to Snowagerling, he did an amazing magic trick! He
turned into a puff of smoke, then turned back to normal. Crikey, how exciting!
When Keri asked Nipper this question, he too did the smoke trick! Gilliam, however,
just made a loud moaning noise at Quivel. From this, we can see that Spooky
PetPets are looking for a very special kind of owner - one who is ready to experience
the magic and wonder of a new friend from the creepy world of the Haunted Woods!
What is the meaning of life?
We were going to stop with that last question, but just in case Spooky PetPets
have mysterious Zennic synergy with the forces of the universe, we asked one
more. When I asked Snowagerling this question, I must have leaned in a bit too
close, because he bit me right on the ear! Ow! When Keri asked Nipper, he growled
pretty loudly! She grabbed Gilliam and asked him before Quivel had a chance
to. She threw in a few choice words that made us all wince. Much to our surprise,
the Bearog replied in perfect English "Oi! Don't swear!" From this we learned
that if PetPets know the meaning of life, they're sure not telling us. We also
learned that when the Missus is riled, it'll shock the Spooky PetPets right
into speaking perfectly!
Owner Experiences
After putting our Spooky PetPets back into their enclosures, I walked around
the Lair
of the Krawk Hunter asking some of our wonderful guildmates what they
thought about Spooky PetPets. First, I stopped to speak to two of our Krawk
Wranglers, Gokutrunks122 and Whitetiger4him.
Stevo: What sort of spooky PetPet do you have, mate?
Gokutrunks122: A Ghostkerchief.
Stevo: Why did you choose that particular PetPet?
Gokutrunks122: It looked cute!
Stevo: Have you ever had a bad experience with it?
Gokutrunks122: I mistook it for a tissue once. That got really ugly...
Stevo: Blimey! But most of your experiences have been positive, right?
Gokutrunks122: Right! Once, it even protected my pocket from thieves.
Stevo: What's the perfect Spooky PetPet for you?
Whitetiger4him: Meowclops - he's the perfect pet of my mutant Kougra!
Stevo: How does he communicate with your Kougra?
Whitetiger4him: He wants to talk a lot - but he doesn't want to be
talked to like he's just another PetPet. Usually, his eyes glow red and he stares
at you.
Last but not least, I had a talk with our Zoo Supervisor, Chaunage.
Stevo: What kind of Spooky PetPet do you have?
Chaunage: An Abominable Snowball, because it fits my personality.
Stevo: What sort of things does it like to do?
Chaunage: Usually, growl at people.
Stevo: Does the Snowball have any special needs you have to attend
to?
Chaunage: Well, Abominable Snowballs need to be cold a lot, so I store
them in Laura's room because she likes the thermostat down below freezing.
Wrapping Up
And there you have it! Spooky PetPets aren't just for Halloween - they're a
year-round addition to your happy Neopian family! Don't be afraid to adopt one
of these wonderful creatures, just because they like to growl and bite and moan
and howl. Sure, they'll bite you on the ear every now and then, but they're
great companions and good protectors! Special thanks to our guild mates for
sharing their experiences, and to our Spooky PetPets for letting us know how
they really feel! And as always, a shout out to our sponsor Shidi
for putting this all together! Feel free to visit us at the Lair of the Krawk
Hunter for more exciting stories of PetPet conservation! Blimey! |
