Neopoints. There is at least one article about getting NP per Neopian
Times issue. So, what can you learn here that all of these articles haven’t
told you? Maybe nothing, maybe something. You know, one man’s trash is
another man’s treasure. Truth be told, same with NeoPets. I myself am
not some multimillionaire. But, in the digital world of NeoPets, I know
the ropes.
1) Personally, I think some of the major NP games (Codebreakers, Ice
Cream Factory, Kiko Match) aren’t so great, not because they don’t load
on the NPs, but because they take forever to download, and by the time
they do, I lose interest. If you aren’t like me, play, play, play! Hey!
They don’t cost anything, and when you’re done, you’re rolling in the
dough! I like Lenny Trivia, because 25 NP builds up, fast. It doesn’t
cost anything, and it’s interesting, too! Build your Neo-knowledge! I
also like Scorchy Slots. You won’t win the jackpot. Face that fact. However,
it is very possible to win 500 NP, faeries, and tons of “Something has
happened!” appear here. Great! I got a major NP-maker there: an underwater
map piece. However, you spend hundreds, so get some NP before this game.
2)Shops are the best source of income of all. No game you could play
can get you the amount of NP possible in a shop. First of all, people
want cheap food. Rare items are not always the best bet. Cheap food is
good, because people know other people want it. So make sure you’re the
cheapest on the Shop Wizard, and that is your key to success. However,
it takes time. Be patient. The Shop Wizard is a shop owner’s heaven. Cloud
nine. If you want people to come to your shop, be the cheapest on the
Shop Wizard. If you need to stock up, go there. Keep refreshing the page,
too. It goes to cheaper and cheaper shops. And hire someone or put your
own HTML in your shop. People underestimate how important it is. It’s
part of the overall feeling about the shop if it has some good HTML. Now,granted,
it doesn’t have to be some incredibly fancy whatchamacallits littered
all over the screen. That’s just clutter. A background and some bigger,
colored, maybe scrolling, text, and possibly an image. That’s plenty.
BTW (by the way) I do HTML and have a great place for backgrounds. Talk
to Katrinity.
3)Now, say you don’t have the NP for a shop, you’re stuck in a Quest
or something, and you need more than what games give you. Sign up for
sponsors. You don’t ever have to do anything with the sponsor again, but
it will give you the Neopoints. And if you’ve got an eye for art, a talent
for writing, a vision about photography, or just about anything, enter
a contest. Write some poems. Draw a NeoPets picture. Find the catacombs,
and do the storytelling contest. There are plenty of things to do to get
last-resort NPs! If there’s anything else about NP you need to know, Neomail
Katrinity.
So, you’ve taken my advice and you decide to enter the storytelling contest
or write a poem. I’ll let you know right now, writing is my domain. I
love it, and I know tons about it. For art, Neomail sparkelicious, my
artist friend. I just recently have discovered the art of poetry. I mainly
deal with articles, fantasy, short stories, I’m even writing my own novel.
But poetry is a lot of fun and I’ve got some tips that may or may not
be useful.
Find your voice. Sounds silly, I know, but really. Do you write sad,
serious work, or "cutesy," fun writing, or weird all the way
through? That’s your voice, your soul, your gut, your instinct, call it
what you like. I tend to be happy, with poems, anyway. Just recently,
I entered some NeoPets versions of songs, like Rockin’ Around the Internet,
NeoPets Fight Song (Pep Song), etc. I had fun writing them, even if they
didn’t get accepted.
Remember, you could be the next Emily Dickinson, or E. E. Cummings.
Or Dr. Suess for that matter. Well, that’s my advice. Really, I have more,
but I guess the title is deceiving. I couldn’t fit it in one article,
but, well, better luck next time. I would enjoy your suggestions, comments,
or anything you have to say. (Neomail either Katrinity or Carmelkat) Good
luck!
