Didn't you just hate it when you first started playing NeoPets? Okay,
slow down - don't get mad at me yet! I'm serious here. When you first
start you usually get about 550 NP. Most beginners go, "Hey! Money!" But
that's not true! 550 NP is not a lot in Neopia at all. First of all, you
can rely on the Soup Faerie, I love her soooooooo much! And you can kind
of rely on the Money Tree, but heck - I have never gotten anything decent from
it!
Well, when you first start you have to do a lot of things:
a) Feed your pet (thank you Soup Faerie!)
b) Open a bank account (to save some of your money!)
c) Open a shop (to make more money!)
d) Generally entertain your pet!!!
But there are a few problems with this system. The first is the shop.
It costs 250 NP to open it, then how much to upgrade it??? And then much
more to stock it, restock it, get some contests going....Eventually you're
paying more for the shop than your customers!!! But that's normal. The
problem is that when you're first starting out you don't HAVE NP to spend
or do anything with.
Here, I'll give you some free advice to solve this problem:
a) Open the bank account and put in at least 100 NP-- DO NOT SPEND THIS
MONEY UNTIL YOUR SHOP IS DOING WELL
b) Do not buy toys for your pet until your shop is open and you have at
least 3 items in it.
A lot of you are probably going, "What!? No toys for our pets?! Are you
nuts!?" No, I'm not. I've actually discovered a way to make your pets
happy - and make a profit from it. Buy an item that's NOT food or trading
card, and play with your pet or read to your pet. With books you can read
the book to your pet and put it in your store. This entertains, enlightens,
and profits you and your little NeoPet family. With toys you can play
with your pet about 5 or 6 times before it becomes bored. After that,
put the toy in the shop. Remember: Don't price items more than 50 NP
more than you paid for it!!! And if you break or rip the toy, 50% off
from its estimated value is the only courteous thing to do.
Next: When you're playing games, as a beginner stick to games that are
free but you can earn money from playing. An example is Kacheek Seek or
Lenny Trivia. These two games are excellent! Your pets can play a long
time before growing bored of them and you earn up to and more than 25
NP each time you play! The only problem with Lenny Trivia is that if you
answer a question once you only profit from it once. But have no fear,
they update the questions a lot.
Oh, once you're into the big money (you have about 300 NP on you at a
time) start putting at least a quarter of the money from your Shop Till
into your bank account. I always do! If I earn 250 NP one day, I put 100
NP into the bank right away! I have over 3000 NP in my bank account for
emergencies or shopping days. Don't put too much in your bank account
at first, but do try to have a minimum of 100 NP in there at all times.
If you run out of money don't use that last 100 NP! Then you will be totally
broke and you'll have to start ALL OVER. And when you take out money,
never ever go around Neopia with more than 300 NP in your hand, there
are ghosts and such everywhere. Not to mention computer crashes!
My final tip is to read the money saving article in Issue 32 of the Neopian
Times. It was written by avidwriter88 and I have benefited from it greatly.
I hope you benefit from my tips as well.
Poor people: The Soup Faerie loves you!
Middle-class people: The Soup Faerie still loves you but it's time to
grow up and be responsible now!
Rich people: LOWER YOUR PRICES PLEASE! MY PRICES ARE CHEAP-O AND I'M STILL
MAKING MONEY! DON'T LOWER 'EM TOO LOW BUT AT LEAST 5% LESS THAN WHAT YOU
PAID FOR IT WOULD BE GREAT!!!
Oh, and Rich People one last thing: The bigger the variety in your shop
+ low prices = BIG MONEY.
****Please support TCFA! Cheap Faeries is the only way for pets to be
blessed, what if one day you went broke and needed a faerie to bless your
pet and you only had 50 NP and the faerie was 1000 NP?****
