The Beggar's Bet

The blue Kau sat miserably. Neofungz was normally a happy pet who enjoyed himself but now he felt terrible he had no toys and hadn’t eaten in days, his only friends in the world were Kranex the buzz and his owner Fungz whom never seemed to have more than 100 NP.

“I’m bored,” cried Neofungz. “Then come down to the money tree with me.” said his owner Fungz. “Maybe some one left some money” buzzed Kranex “Or a toy,” Neofungz sang excitedly. The three friends set off to the money tree in search of new items. After a little while Neofungz was insight of the tree he pulled up all his energy and sprinted to the tree as fast as possible Neofungz skidded at the tree but no one had left anything tears built up in his eyes he had hoped just for once to have something to play with but he got nothing. Fungz and Kranex soon caught up “Never mind maybe tomorrow,” whispered Fungz so both of his pets could hear.

Just then a girl rode up on a golden Uni she dropped a parcel by the tree and galloped off Neofungz’s face lit up as he opened the package inside was an ultra bubble beam as well as magical fairy armour and best of all a magical fire spell. That wasn’t all though there was also an improved lightning bolt and wooden blocking shield. The bubble beam, armour and spell were all equipped to Neofungz but the lightning bolt and shield were given to Kranex.

Kranex the Buzz and Neofungz the Kau battled all day until both were worn out but it soon became obvious that Neofungz was the better even so Kranex tried hard any way and only till he had lost seventeen times in a row he gave up. Neofungz’s level grew twice and soon his defence became ultimate and his speed and strength got to fast and heavy. It was then that Fungz had a great idea he would enter Neofungz in the battledome after discussing it with both pets it was agreed.

The very next day Neofungz awoke and accompanied by Kranex and Fungz he traveled to the Battledome. It was a massive place filled with the biggest looking pets Neofungz had ever seen the three companions ventured to the centre ring where a mean looking Skeith was fighting a frightened looking Kiko who’s owner was about to burst into tears. The Skeith started things off with a powerful zap from a robotic hand, the Kiko took a heavy hit but was just able to unleash a wild yellow freeze cannon which the Skeith expertly dodged and wrapped things up with a hit from his giant purple Basher. The poor Kiko unable to take any more dropped to the floor crying out in pain. Cheers broke out from around the crowd as the Skeith's owner bowed deeply and Yelled into crowd “Any more fools wanna challenge me, the undefeated master of all Neopia.” This was Neofungz’s big chance he leaped into the ring and took a battle stance the Skeith's owner started laughing loudly “I will crush this stupid Kau,” Fungz went red he knew Neofungz could never win but in a moment of anger he yelled out “I bet you one hundred thousand Neopoints you will lose to my pet,” Kranex’s face went blank “You haven’t got that much,” said Kranex . But before Fungz could answer the Skeith's trainer bellowed, “ Fine prepare to lose one hundred thousand NP.”

The battle started with the Skeith shooting a lightning bolt but Neofungz had learned how to dodge these and dived out the way just in time not to be hit. Without pause Neofungz blasted the Skeith with his Bubble beam. The Skeith staggered back at Neofungz’s attack but soon shook himself off and charged at Neofungz ready to knock him flying this time Neofungz didn’t dodge in time but instead was sent flying hitting his head hard off the Solid floor Neofungz staggered about in pure agony as the Skeith sent a ball of fire in his direction Neofungz once again was sent flying to floor. With nothing left Neofungz was almost ready to give up but then he saw Fungz’s sad face and remembered how Fungz had looked after him since he was just a baby and how when he had been ill Fungz spent all his money on medicine to make him better. He couldn’t let Fungz owe this jerk so much money he had to win with one last burst of energy Neofungz let loose the fire spell not expecting his enemy to fight back the Skeith was hit before he even saw what it was that hit him and was instantly knocked out! Neofungz had won and had earned his owner enough Neopoints to last a life time The beggar Fungz had won the bet and the three friends Kranex Neofungz and Fungz would no longer have to rely on other peoples old gifts.
