The Journey: Part One

As a shy blue Shoyru walked into the battle magic shop with a load of Neopoints, the shopkeeper looked up at her. She knew what her owner, Baloyarn(a.k.a. Amanda) had sent her for. "Greetings," coughed the shopkeeper. The Shoyru smiled as she made her way toward the back of the shop. She grabbed a basic lightning beam and took it to the front of the shop.

"I won't take less than 114 Neopoints for it," he said hoarsely.

"How about a hundred and eleven," the Shoyru coaxed.

"All right, I accept."

"And here's our discount card," the Shoyru added as she pushed the Neopoints and the package across the desk.

"Here's your change of 90 Neopoints. Have a nice day." The shopkeeper handed the Shoyru a small bag of Neopoints and the card and she was off.

As she exited the shop, she bumped into a kind looking Kacheek. Her cheerful appearance was quite appreciated. Neopoints spilled all over the floor. "Oh dear, I sure am sorry about that," replied the Shoyru as she gathered up the spilled Neopoints.

"Not a problem," the Kacheek replied. This particular Kacheek was blue just like the Shoyru. The Kacheek recounted all the Neopoints and replied, "Dang, I lost 90 Neopoints....Oh well..."

"I can give you 90 Neopoints."

"Really, would you?" the Kacheek stammered as the Shoyru shoved the bag of 90 Neopoints into the Kacheek's hands.

"Bye!" the blue Shoyru shouted over her shoulder.

She made her way across town and found the 90 Neopoints the Kacheek had lost. She picked them up, thinking of it as even. The Shoyru crossed the street and rushed into the cafe. She ordered a green apple, which happened to be her favourite. She devoured the apple and she was on her way. As she began home, a shout stopped her. She grabbed the 80 remaining Neopoints and turned to face another Shoyru, only this one was red. Behind him was a green Chia and a red Lupe. She stared at them.

"Yes?" she asked kindly.

"We have a bone to pick with you. You stole some Neopoints from us," the red Shoyru spoke.

"You must be mistaken. I've done no such thing and with your permission, I'll be on my way," she replied. But before she could continue, the Lupe stepped in front of her. "I'm warning you now, let me go home so I can return my extra Neopoints to my owner." she argued. But the Lupe didn't budge. The path was deserted, and there was nothing the Shoyru could do.

"I don't want to fight, I just want to go home!" she attempted. But it was no use.

"One of two options. You can give us that sack of Neopoints or have a 2 on 2 fight with us," the Chia shouted angrily.

Oh dear, she thought. This Shoyru was Katrycia. She was level 2 with no special abilities and nothing but a bolt of lightning to protect her. She was fast and quite intelligent. "I accept your fight," she sighed.

The red Shoyru stepped up. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the blue Kacheek dashing toward her. Too late though.

"Black frost cannon!" he shouted as a black beam sped toward her. Her speed was too great to get hit though. She dodged the cannon with effortless ease. Since she could think of nothing else, she countered him with 2 great flaps of her wings. He simply shook his head and landed on the ground. The Lupe stepped into the ring.

After nearly biting her elegant tail, she did a 360 and with all her might, she called, "Basic lightning beam!" The Lupe was hit and shot up in the air. With a flick of her tail, he fainted. Katrycia landed as the Kacheek neared her.

The red Shoyru was back with extra strength. "Lightning beam!" A large beam headed straight toward her. She flapped her wings, but the lightning beam hit her full force, sending her toppling onto the ground. She fell painfully. The Kacheek got in front of her, arms wide spread, ready to face the other Shoyru.

"Leave my friend alone! She stole no Neopoints whatsoever." The Shoyru just laughed.

"Don't get involved," I warned. She didn't move.

"Red frost cannon!" the Shoyru shouted as a large beam shot toward her.

"NO!" shrieked Katrycia. The beam hit the Kacheek with full force.

When the dust cleared, the Kacheek was gone. A tear fell from Katrycia's cheek. But the Kacheek was not gone. She landed smiling. The red Shoyru looked stunned.

"Blue frost cannon!" the Kacheek shouted. It hit the red Shoyru but didn't knock it down.

"Ultra Bubble Beam!" she shouted with fury as the line of bubbles hit the red Shoyru full force. She then leapt into the air and with much splendor, she turned around three times, chucked a wet snowball up into the air and smacked it with all the force she had. It hit the Shoyru on the head. The Chia, the Lupe, and the Shoyru ran off shouting. The Kacheek turned to face Katrycia.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah, but my owner's not. She's probably worried sick. I need to go home." Katrycia dusted herself off and the Kacheek followed her.

"I know what you mean. My name's Mysteey. What's yours?"

"I'm Katrycia. Pleased to meet you," Katrycia replied as they neared their owner's house. Both NeoPets knocked on the door and Amanda opened it.
