I've been a member of NeoPets since November 21, 1999, when we had a lowly 100 members, and we aaaaaaall knew each other. We had only a few shops, and a few NeoPets workers. We had no shops, and you had a very decent chance to get something from the shops and Money Tree. So, as I write this, I know very well what I'm talking about (not to sound haughty or anything, so if I do, I'm sowwie, and please forgive me ~.^), so please listen closely. ^_^

I just read an interesting article begging to "give the poorer Neopians lower prices and a better chance." I partly agree with some points of it, but mainly, I'm outraged. It's ridiculous. They claim the prices in shops are WAY TOO HIGH, but if you look around, many prices in shops are lower than the main Neopian shops. And the only way prices rise and fall is because of something called SUPPLY AND DEMAND. For those who don't know what that means, it simply means: 1. Prices fall when DEMAND is low, and rise when DEMAND is high. 2. When something is high in DEMAND, the SUPPLY rises. When something is low in DEMAND, the SUPPLY lowers.

So, obviously, the cause of some high prices is because of high demand. More people want it, and soon the prices rise because of 1. People quickly grabbing up the items priced cheap (called Inflation) and 2. people who want to get their moneys' worth when selling something. Making a PROFIT, to put it bluntly. And prices are set based on how much it was bought for.

If someone supposedly "cons" you into buying something for more than it is worth, then don't be stupid! Check the Shop Wizard to see if you can get that price any lower than it already is! Don't buy it until you've compared it to other prices! I mean, I'm sorry, but buying something because someone "conned" you just strikes me as dumb.

And I'm sick of people complaining the RICHER Neopians are haughty fools who treat their pets badly and set their prices too high. I'm rich, because I worked HARD, and I treat my pets very well, thank you. I always check the Shop Wizard before setting my prices and then set them 15 NP below whatever the lowest price in the Shop Wizard is. So *I'm* rich, and I'm doing my part as well, as are many other people with my same view.

You can get a lot of NP just because you play games. "Working hard" to play games and only getting 20 NP just doesn't sound right. Poke Match always gets me at least 220 NP a game, then three times, that's 660 NP. Then I play Kiko Match, which gets me at least 130, which is 390 NP. Add 'em up and you get 1,050 NP *minimum* from only *two* games. And then you complain the children have to work harder at the games. Well, I don't think so. NeoPets is, more or less, a game designed for fun. Poke Match and Kiko Match doesn't look all that bad to me, you know why? I thought MEMORY games were something you often played at 5 years old. So working hard to get 20 NP is just not that hard at all.

Rich people worked just as hard as anyone to get rich! They, too, just like EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF NeoPets, was once a member with only 100 NP! But, unlike the poor people who sit around complaining (And I'm not saying this is everyone, as I know many, many who are poor and work very hard, so I'm not trying to discriminate ~.^), we did something about it and tried hard to get rich. They too, were once people with a few NPs trying to support their pets. And magical items like Faeries are meant to have high prices, they're NOT SUPPOSED to be easy to get. If they were, guess what, then everyone would have one.

So don't blame the rich for high prices, because everybody has the same chance to get rich regardless (most of the time) of age. And even poor people who own a shop may set their prices high. I've seen this a lot. I just don't think it's right to blame the rich when we already do a lot, when some people (NOT EVERYONE, OKAY?!?!) sit around and complain.
