Tricks of the Trade

by magicwizard66

I know that there a many poor people out there who do not have much NP, so I decided to write this article to help you out. I use often use these methods and have enough in my bank account to earn 89 NP interest everyday.

Food: I know that many people are complaining about the price of food but there is a way of feeding your pets and maybe make a profit while doing so. First only create one pet, that way you can keep your expenses to a bare minimum! Ever since the giant Omelette arrived with Tyrannia, you can have a slice of Omelette once a day. One slice can last you a few days and if you take a slice everyday, soon you'll have more Omelette than you care to look at. Don't feed your pet with expensive foods such as Easter Neggs and bat cookies. Feed your pet plain and simple food, they will do just fine. Every time you find a Negg or some rare food item, check the shop wizard and if it fetches a high price, sell it in your shop (more on that later). Why feed your pet rare food item(s)when you can sell it and use the profits to buy even more food! I can tell you that I never had a food shortage because I have so many omelettes in my deposit box just waiting to be eaten. I received a mega rare tomato Omelette once and sold it for a cool 20,000 NP! Others may not fetch that high but it does pay off to spend a little time using the shop wizard.

Owning your own shop: I must say that creating my shop was probably the best thing I've ever done. Owning your own shop will allow you to sell items and hopefully make a profit. I usually sell stuff I get from quests and just "happening" to find stuff around the site. In the long term, it does pay off to upgrade your shop to a reasonable size. Don't use fancy backgrounds or images that take too long to load, people get frustrated when they have to wait ages for images to show up and leave before they buy something. Having a plain background and a small welcome note will do just fine because someone may want to purchase something for a quest or the employment agency.

Games: The greatest source of income for most people is playing games. Cheat! is an excellent game if you have the time, it may cost 50 NP a go but the rewards are great and you get a Battlecard every time you win. The higher the level, the more NP you win and it is possible to win up to 3000 NP. Switch-a-Roo is the best game for loads of NP I've been playing NeoPets long enough to win 1100 NP each go. Multiply that by 5 and I get 5500 NP each day to spend. I recommend this game because keeping your eye on the correct coconut is not as hard as it seems even on the "Stupidly fast" level. Meerca Chase is another great game if you have time to burn, you win NP and maybe a magical Meerca plushie (I have three green ones already). Don't play the games where you have to rely on your luck. Games such a Dice-A-Roo, black jack and the lottery have a very slim chance of winning anything.

Treasure Maps: I know what you're saying, you can't possibly afford to buy map pieces without withdrawing from your bank account to buy from someone's shop. The chances of finding one around the site are very small. Why not try the treasure hunt? If you know the clues well, you should be able to complete it in around 10 minutes and be rewarded with a piece of the space map. You either sell it in your shop or wait to have the complete set. I got 12000 NP and three rare items from this. Trade it for other maps such as the spooky and underwater maps. Do this on a regular basis and you'll have rare items and NP rolling in.

Quests: Can't afford codestones to raise your pet's abilities in the training school? Every time you get a random quest, I suggest you do it. There is no time limit and the faeries NEVER ask for expensive items. Usually you'll have to spent around 50-75 NP but it is worth it. On completion of the quest, your pet's ability raises by one level. Now isn't that much cheaper and easier than finding/buying Codestones? However, the down side to this is that these quests are few and far between. Only do the quests which you think you make a profit from. For instance, the Snow Faerie may ask to get a Herbal Bubbles Drink. It costs less than 100 NP and you get a random item, a snowball and some NP. Sometimes she may ask you to get 4 items which may include a Faerie, which could wind up costing you a wing and a paw. The witch in the Haunted Woods can be good and bad. I once got a Bat Cookie from her after only spending around 200 NP I sold it for a mere 6000 NP That's a 5800 NP profit!

I hope you found this article useful in your quest to make NP but remember that NeoPets is only a game and the main purpose is to have fun. Please feel free to Neomail me with any questions you have, I'm virtually online everyday and I'll be glad to answer any questions. Have fun!
