The Third Stone

I skipped merrily about the turf, not thinking about anything but play. We began rolling the ball back and forth when Amanda called us in. "What?" I piped.

"There's someone here to see you." Who would want to see me? I questioned myself. I went to the door. It was the red Grarrl. I quickly slammed the front door, smiling weakly. The last thing I wanted was a fight. "Wildfiree, open that door back up."

"Uh, he left?" I lied.

"Is there something I need to know?" She questioned me.

"Yeah, he practically tore me to pieces right in front of the whole student population." I grumbled angrily.

"May I speak to him, then?" Amanda inquired.

"Sure, and while your at it, give him this message... 'Leave My Family Alone'." I added, dashing into the back yard.

"Let's go in the woods." I suggested after exiting the house. "It'll be safer there, anyway."

We all bolted into the woods. Mysteey picked some mushrooms, Katrycia did some extra school work, and Twincklezz and I peered about the forest. I scratched at the ground a bit, when Twincklezz suggested we go deeper into the heart of the forest.

"Great Idea. Let's go." I said agreeably. We made our way slowly through the forest. The undergrowth was rough, so I finally gave up and climbed a tree.

Soon after, we were ambushed by ghosts. She bounded about, hissing madly, while I kicked dirt at them. It was no use, however. We fled deeper into the forest until we came to a clearing. The ghosts halted, and flew away. "What scared them off?" I questioned her. It was clear that she was as puzzled as I was.

"OWW!" I shouted.

"What?" Twincklezz said in a worried tone.

"This thing, it fell on my head and..." I stopped. It was another stone. This one was green and it had a leaf carved on it. "Another stone? What are these things!" I growled.

"I don't know, but let's go back before the ghosts find us." Twincklezz added swiftly. We bolted through the forest. Katrycia and Mysteey were still hard at work. I slipped the stone into my sack as I began to gather Healthshrooms. There was a lovely patch of green ones adjacent to the one Mysteey was working on. Stuffing a few into my pack, Twincklezz sat up.

"Amanda's calling." She stammered. "Let's go!" Before she finished, she bolted, soon followed by the remaining three. Upon our arrival, Amanda demanded to know of the days events. After slipping up stairs to stash the stone, we sat down to dinner.
