Some of you out there are vegetarians yourselves (Myself
included). Have you thought about making your NeoPets go veggie? Here
is a guide to have your pets live a healthy, meatless diet.
NeoPets have many places where they can shop for food.
One of the best places is the Health Shop. Everything they have is organic,
and made without any animal products. The Organic Carrots seem to be a
favorite of my Uni. The supplements are also a good idea, but some pets
don't like taking pills. I suggest shopping here.
The food shop isn't a very good place to shop, but they
have some good items. They have a Vegan burger if you look very well.
If you want your pet to be a vegetarian, don't shop at
Hubert's Hot-dog stand. Don't even go near it.
The Tyrannian food shop has some good items, my pets
like their cactus very much. Be careful what you buy, though. Animal might
be lurking in it.
So now you know some shops you can go to to look for
food, I suggest you decide which type of vegetarian your pet will be.
(note: I have changed the names of the three types of vegetarians for
NeoPet purposes. The names just vary, but the meanings have the same thing)
Omo-Lacto - Eats milk and eggs (Be careful what omelette
you buy!), but eats no meat.
Lacto - Drinks milk, but has no meat or eggs.
Vegan - Drinks no milk, or eats any egg or meat. This
is the hardest pet to buy for.
Do you know what type you want your pet to be? Here are
a few hints for each type.
Omo-Lacto - Have your pet drink milk once a week (twice
if it fights in Battledome), and try going to the omelette every other
day. It might be hard to find something without meat, but you can try.
There are foods out there. I suggest stocking your pantry with these (healthy)
items:
Chocolate Milk
Milk
Carrot and Peas Omelette
Organic Red Apple
Organic Green Apple
Organic Carrot Pear
Desserts:
Cherry Jubilee
Neodrops
Bubble Gum
Chocolate Ice Cream
Strawberry Ice Cream
Lacto - These pets don't eat eggs, so don't try going
to the omelette. Be sure that what you eat doesn't have any eggs in them.
Sometimes, it is hard.
Healthy foods:
Milk
Anything Organic
Cinnamon Bun
Tropical Fruit Smoothie
Desserts:
White and Orange chocolate pets
Mint Ice Cream
Vegan - These types of pet are the hardest to buy for.
Since they can't have any Milk or Eggs, you buy mostly plant items. Health
Food shop is the only place I suggest going to most often. The Tyrannian
food shop has very good cactus plant, it is cheap too. Mostly, I suggest
going into other people's shops, they have a wide variety of food, so
you can shop in one place.
Healthy:
Vegan Burger (contains no meat)
Anything Organic
Any Plant Item
Streaky Bacon (just kidding)
Dessert:
Jellybeans
Lollipop
Almost any smoothie
Important: Even though some foods seem "eatable", they
aren't. Don't buy any of these:
Sugar Bunny
Grilled Cheese
Anything "cooked" or fried
Although it might not seem like it, all Neggs are made
without any meat products, no matter what their name. Eat on!
Great! Your pantry is stocked up with many food items,
but aren't you wondering about paintbrushes, faeries, toys, clothes, morphing
potions and grooming items? These paragraphs help you with the nonfood
items.
Paintbrushes are all made with a straw-type structure,
using no animal fur. All types of paintbrushes are acceptable.
Even though the thought of faeries being caught in a
bottle, seems "un-vegetarian" to buy, these are fine. The faeries like
it if they are released, and they will bless your pet. So if you find
a Faerie, release it, to put it out of pain.
Most toys are acceptable. Magical Toys and Fuzzie bears
are not. Magical toys are tested on animals, and use real fur, and genes.
Only magical plushies are bad, though. All other plushies are made with
fake fur.
Clothes are fine, depending on hat you buy. Leather jackets
are a no-no. Everything else seems fine.
Morphing potions and Transmogrification potions are off.
They tranquilize a pet, take all its genes, and leave it sleeping*. Transmogrification
potions aren't any better. Sloth made them, so it will leave the pets
mutant.
Grooming items are fine. The lipsticks are not tested
on animals, the blushes and perfumes are also a nice way to look fine.
Shampoo and Conditioner are not tested on animals either, even though
it seems like it.
I hope you enjoyed my article and learned a few things.
Turning vegetarian isn't always a bad thing! If your pet read this article,
and wants to become a vegetarian, I say, let him/her become one! Neomessage
me at ilocandy if it worked out. Did you know that a Neopian vegetarian
has a lesser change of getting diseases than the regular meat-eating one?
