The Absorption of Powers: Part Four

"Run…run now, run quick!" whispered Starlingrad to himself. Suddenly, he paused, and felt an angel on his right, and a devil on his left, fighting.

The angel said, "Stop! Starlingrad, go save Shari."

But the devil cackled, "Save yourself first."

Starlingrad looked at them, and said to the angel, "You're right, I'll go back to save Shari! That Jake…I knew that guy was stiff! Should have known he was bad, bad guy!"

The angel laughed melodiously, while the devil vanished away in red smoke.

The Dark Faerie touched Shari's face, "Beauty." She said, her voice echoing over and over again. Shari felt in an utter state of doom, as she stared at Jake, standing next to the Dark Faerie. Flashes and flashes of their past journey came to her…

Flash… Shari felt her body falling fast and near to the waters, and she shouted to Jake for help. But there was no reply. Shari flapped her wings immediately, and leapt up into the air, and with a thud, landed herself onto the ground.

"Why didn't you help me?" They got up and once again faced the castle.

Jake looked at her and simply said, "I was about to, but you saved yourself."

Jake had wanted her destroyed!

Flash… Jake had said when they were talking to Myra, "A week ago, Shari's owner was kidnapped by someone." Shari had not even known whether or not her owner, Silver had been kidnapped.

Flash…"We want information on him." And, how did he know that the kidnapper was a he?

Flash… Myra's voice seemed to be echoing, and continuously saying to Shari, "Be careful." Then there was a wicked laugh…and they were back, and surrounded once again by the bricked wall.

"Who laughed?" Shari asked Jake.

"Nobody. I heard nothing." Jake and Myra, they were in cahoots!

Flash… Shari cried out happily. "The volcano! We're in Tyrannia!" Jake nodded solemnly, and walked forward. "Where are you going?" Shari asked.

Jake smiled- the first time, "I've an instinct. Your owner is here." Jake had known that the Dark Faerie, Natas, and Silver were in the volcano! He had purposely led Shari to the trap!

Why was she so stupid? It was so clear to her now, who Jake really was. "Traitor!" she cried, "Traitor!" She controlled her tears-she would not cry for someone like Jake. Never. Jake simply smiled.

Starlingrad quickly ran behind the Fire Faerie and thought to himself, "What am I gonna do?"

Suddenly, there was a clear, and strong voice, "Release me!" Starlingrad looked up, and saw Silver, Shari's owner that she had talked about until it was as if he knew her. He nodded to her commend, and quickly forced opened the metal cap of the glass bottle. The Fire Faerie rose out of the sky, looking weak, and yet enormously royal and noble looking.

"Flame!" Silver shouted, and a ball of fire, the shape of a phoenix came out. The phoenix roared balls of blue sparks that melted the ship heavily.

The Dark Faerie did not quiver, as she let go of Shari, and shouted, "Demons, rise up now for your queen!" Hundreds of Korbats, all painted black, with eyes shining lime green, showed their ferocious teeth, and snarled at Silver. The Dark Faerie laughed, long and hard, "Attack!" Shari took the chance to take revenge on Jake. She kicked him, once, and than again. "You traitor!"

Starlingrad laughed. It was his time of fun. Looking for a victim, his red eyes caught Natas running away from the ship. "Haha! Don't you dare run! The hero has come to capture you!" And Starlingrad chased after him, like a wild dog.

The Dark Faerie looked around her; she was not going to win this battle. She quickly shouted to Jake, her most loyal devoted follower. "You have served me well, follow me!" As they both disappear without a trace, Natas was screaming after them. He had thought he was the Dark Faerie's favourite. Who would have known?

Shari ran to her owner, who was lying on the ground. The Korbats had attacked her, and left when their queen vanished. "Shari," the Fire Faerie said weakly, "I know I will leave soon, I heard the Faerie Queen, calling me!" Shari was sobbing…. What will happen to her?

Starlingrad was laughing, heartily. "Not bad adventure." He had captured Natas. What was the purpose that the Dark Faerie had capture Shari's owner, Silver? Why did Jake want to lead Shari into this trap? What was going on?
