The Ten Scariest Places in Neopia by ginelga
--------
You heard it, folks, Halloween is just around the corner. The leaves have rapidly
changed colors on their trees, shaking loosely and finally falling to the ground
for eternity. The decorations are up, some haunting and ghastly, some amusing
and fun. All around Neopia, Neopets are whispering excitedly to one another about
their plans for Halloween, and candy shops are emptying out all over the globe.
In light of this scary yet wondrous occasion, I have conjured up a list of
the ten scariest places in all of Neopia to visit. For daredevils, this is the
list you've been waiting for! Not a daredevil, I hear? Well, if you're just
one looking for some fun on Halloween night, why not take a few glimpses at
some of these places? But I warn you! Bring a friend along; you're out for a
scare!
10. The Brain Tree
This enormous tree is just too much to handle for me. Who ever saw a giant
talking tree with a brain? I don't know about you, but even the thought
of that scares me! Not only does he go insane when you cannot complete a quest
for him, he also fixes those menacing red eyes on you, seeming to hypnotize
you. I advise only true daredevils to visit this tree. Be prepared for anything
when it comes to this thing!
9. The Esophagor
Don't mess with this guy. When it lives underground in the depths of the Haunted
Woods, you don't even want to think about what it eats. Feel like doing a quest
for this guy? Go ahead; don't say I didn't warn you.
You never know what he'll do (or eat) if you fail a quest of his...
8. Jhudora's Cloud
This evil faerie can scare even a mighty Grarrl, causing the poor Neopet to
run screaming out of Faerieland. We all know that Jhudora offers quests - but
at a high price. And if one is to fail at a quest of hers... well, let's just
say that the poor Neopet probably won't want to visit her again. Unlike her
nemesis Illusen, she is not one to give second chances. She has an anger ready
to burst at any given moment, and dare you say the wrong word to her, you'll
be sorry. She is an extremely scary Faerie, and although it seems impossible,
her evilness seems to grow each year. Who knows what she has in store for this
year? Needless to say, as Neopia's evilest Faerie and one of the most infamous
antagonists in Neopia, a list of the scariest places in Neopia would not be
complete without her cloud on it.
7. The Deserted Fairground
What's so scary about an empty and uninhabited fairground, you might ask? Everything!
Have you seen this place? Look at it, it's got to be full of ghosts and evil
spirits and all that scary jazz. It's just plain spooky! I wouldn't want to
walk through that place alone, much less near Halloween time!
6. Turmaculus
What can I say about this giant sleeping hunk of junk? Nothing much except
that you have to watch your back (and your petpet's backs!) when you're around
him. No Neopet would like their precious petpet eaten by a giant monster all
because it woke him up at a bad time. Oh, the atrocities.
5. The Game Graveyard
Ahh, the Game Graveyard. It's not so much scary as it is sad. But ghosts are
known to appear over there once in a while. If you have the guts, visit the
graveyard to shed a tear or two and pay your respects, but don't be too shocked
if fearsome ghosts begin popping out of nowhere, taunting you. Graveyards are
known to be extremely haunted places, and who knows what those ghosts are capable
of doing, specifically around the mischievous time of Halloween! All I can say
is this: Beware!
4. Kreludan Mining Corp.
Picture this: You're on a faraway moon, far from home and wanting to go back
as soon as possible. You see a mine far away and see lights gleaming out of
it in every direction. You know you shouldn't, but you follow the lights anyway.
They're just too intriguing. You approach the mine and see a giant robot pointing
the biggest laser you have ever seen right at your face. The robot starts to
talk and you catch something about not having the proper authorization code.
It tells you to get out before it hurts you. You run away, and are left with
nightmares about the darned robot for years to come.
*Shudder* If that's not scary, I don't know what is. Please, don't go there
unless you're ready for a sever punishment.
3. The Snowager
Aaah, the infamous Snowager. With its piles of toys and priceless treasures
beneath it, this monster is definitely one to be reckoned with. If you're ever
caught off guard by it, I suggest you run like you never ran before. This monster
is a time bomb waiting to explode. Sure, it's in the depths of the Ice Caves
(not much of a Halloween feel there, I must say), but if you're up for a scare
and looking for something to get your heart pumping, dare to visit the Snowager!
But may I warn you: If you go while the monstrous beast is asleep and you wake
him up, prepare for the shock of your life!
2. The Deserted Tomb
In the depths of the lost city of Geraptiku lies a deserted tomb which has
been untouched for years. Unsure of what to find, unsuspecting Neopets venture
out into this tomb, searching for treasures beyond imagination.
That is, until you actually step foot into the terrifying obstacle.
You open the door and step into a dark hallway. Unable to see what is ahead
of you, you begin to shake nervously. Although you know you shouldn't, your
curiosity gets the best of you and you head on, unsure of what to expect.
You carry on when suddenly a large force throws you back down the hall. You
scream in pain and run out, vouching to never step foot in that wretched place
again.
You heard it from me, folks; that tomb is not one to be reckoned it. Enter
it with extreme caution.
1. The Secret Lab Ray
It can change your species, lower your stats, and for gosh sakes change your
gender! Some inexperienced and naive Neopians believe the infamous Lab
Ray to be a blessing. My, how they are wrong. The torturous things the Lab Ray
can do to your Neopet are horrendous to think about. For your own sake, do not
use the Lab Ray unless you are one hundred percent sure you know what you are
doing, and that you are willing to take the dreadful risk.
Well, folks, you heard it! Looking for a good and spooky time this Halloween?
If you're brave and up to anything, I suggest you visit all these places. Or
if you just want to have a memorable Halloween, I suggest you go and see some
of these places just so you can have some fond - although scary - memories to
share with your friends. Either way, Halloween is soon to come, and who ever
heard of a Halloween without any spookiness or scary occurrences?
