Caring for Your Reptillior by ladykayk3
--------
We may see them as disease-spreading venomous petpets that should be locked up. We may want to keep our pets as far away from them as possible, to prevent an unwanted visit to the Healing Springs... or worse... 100k spent on Cactopus Cream. But, as I have proven, reptilliors can be great pets. Venom has NEVER ONCE bit ANY of my pets, even Fear, who handles him every hour. So this is the top five was to care for and bond with your reptillior. (Magtile... AS IF! Cobrall... HOW LAME! Reptillior... AWESOME!!!!)
RULE 1: Never EVER scare them...
You never want to scare your reptillior... it may end very badly. You must remember... REPTILLIORS ARE HIGHLY VENOMOUS. One mistake... and BOOM! Your pet has a disease. Don't worry, reptillioritus is a curable disease. If talking to your reptillior... never scream. Screaming will do one of two things: Make you and your pet look deaf and just plain silly, or scare the poor pet into protection mode. So simply, NEVER SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would also be wise if you keep your pet in a room away from noise when interacting with his/her reptillior. Focus is important when handling, feeding, or simply staring aimlessly at your petpet. Can you remember that? Good, we can continue.
RULE 2: Keep calm...
If... by any chance your reptillior bites your pet (Highly unlikely... my pet Fear has got reptillioritus five times from scarabs) you MUST STAY CALM. If you scold your petpet, he'll get scared and bite YOU. Remember our previous rule... don't scream. What you want to do: Get on your skeith attack gloves (they're the thickest, so your reptillior can't bite through them) and pick up the petpet. You'll want to walk, not run, to his petpet cage (I suggest the Sturdy Petpet Cage), then carefully put the pet in there.
REMEMBER TO LOCK THE CAGE. If he gets out and bites every one of your pets, you'll be spending 400,000 Neopoints. Then, you'll want to take your pet to the Hospital, then to the pharmacy. If there is no cactopus cream, you'll want to go to the Shop Wizard or the trading post. Or, the cheapest way is to take him/her to the healing springs every fifteen minutes.
RULE 3: Feed them correctly...
Feeding is a simple process: Remember the gloves mentioned earlier? Put those back on, then take your reptillior out of his cage. Place him where you want to feed him, which should be any flat surface with walls.Take out his food and place it in his feeding area. Or, this is normally not suggested, but very cheap, get a can of petpet food. This food is not healthy for a meat eater like your reptillior. This food contains NO meat, for vegetarian petpets. But for your reptillior, you must feed him something HIGH in protein. Or, for a treat, something high in fat.
Venom, my pet's reptillior, enjoys Blumaroo or Ransaurus steak. It can be any meat food, as long as it's REAL (So no fake blumaroo steak) and it has no shells. We took Venom to Kelp, and decided to treat him to Fresh Oysters. We thought he'd just eat the meat. But we ended up rushing him to the Hospital. The poor thing swallowed the shells! So, remember! NEVER FEED YOUR PET SOMETHING WITH SHELLS! This includes any eggs, unless you TRIPLE check to see if every piece of shell is still in the egg before feeding your reptillior.
RULE 4: Play properly...
Playing is important. Like you or your neopets, reptilliors will want to play... you just need to be careful about what you play with them. Remember, when playing with your reptillior, where the gloves! And, for your safety and the well being for the petpet, please supervise play. We don't want them to choke. I made a list of places you should take and play with your reptillior. The other list is places you should NEVER take it.
SHOULD: Toys:
- Petpet pipe maze (They love to slither around in the pipes.)
- Basketball (They'll push it back and forth.)
- Usuki Dolls (Surprisingly, they love this. They'll "attack" it.)
- Squeeze Toys (They love to get wet. This toy squirts water.)
- Bath Buckets (As mentioned, they love water.)
- Plastic Tiki Toys (They'll bat them around.)
Places:
- Tyrannia (They can rough-house rocks and not get hurt.)
- Mystery Island (The natives never mind to find a tree with bite marks in it.)
- Krawk Island (Same as Tyrannia, they can rough-house.)
- Moltara (Something about lava, they love.)
- Maraqua (The place is filled with water... must I say more?)
- Darigan Citadel (They are SUPPOSED to rough-house at the Petpet Arena.)
- Meridell (Have to head there to get to Darigan Citadel.)
SHOULDN'T Toys:
- Squeaky Toys (The sound will irritate both of you.)
- Plushies (The fur is horrible for them.)
- Keyrings (You don't want them to swallow metal... do you?)
- School Supplies (You don't want pencil lead in their diet.)
- Musical Instruments (As I found out, brass isn't good for them.)
Places:
- Faerieland (You don't want them to slither off the cloud, and there is no one there to rough-house.)
- Kadoatery (It's too tempting for them... a bunch of kadoaties.)
- ANY petpet shop (As stated above... way too tempting.)
- Altador (For some reason, they can't stand that place.)
- Brightvale (I believe it's about the moats...)
- Kiko Lake (They can't remember that you're SUPPOSED to stay on the glass bottom boat.)
- Kreludor/ Space Station (They aren't big robot fans.)
- Lutari Island (My reptillior can't stand the beautiful island for reasons I don't know of!)
- Roo Island (Remember... they eat Blumaroo Steak.)
- Shenkuu (They can't stand being high up.)
- Terror Mountain (Same as Shenkuu, and they can't stand the cold.)
Easy to remember. Good, we can head to our fifth rule.
RULE 5: Give them lots of attention...
Like any petpet, reptilliors need a healthy dose of attention. They can't stay in their cage for more than seven hours at a time. And when you do take them out, if you want them to be happy, you should play with them for at least an hour. Throw them a treat now and then. Take them places. You wouldn't like to be caught up in a cage all day, would you? Remember to feed them. You'll be the best owner then.
If you follow this simple page of rules, your reptillior can be as gentle as a faellie. Remember: Never scare them, stay calm, feed them, play with them PROPERLY, and give them loads of attention. You and your reptillior can be happier that way.
