Neopian Cooking: Preparing Meridell and Altadorian by jrayeb3
--------
Neopia has many tasty and not so tasty foods. But, luckily, you can make some in your own real life kitchen, with some help from an adult! I'll repeat: Please, please use an adult. Then, you can try them and see if they are worth serving your pet. Today, we'll start with Altadorian and Meridellian cuisine. (psss...Maybe you'll see more in the Times! But shhhh....it's a secret)
First up is Altador! Their yummy food is somewhat easy to make. Stock up on honey and olives! I decided not to do the Tureen of Olives, becuase all you have to do is dump olives in a bowl. :/ You can if you want to, though.
1.Hero Gyro: This tasty treat is named after the heroes of Altador! It's just a marketing scheme really.
You will need:
- Chicken (left over rotisserie works great, but make sure it's already cooked.)
- Tomatoes
- Tortilla
- Lettuce
- Spinach (optional)
First, chop up your tomatoes. Put them in a bowl with your lettuce and stir it. Then, mix in your chicken and stir again. Now you add the spinach. Finally, place the mix on your tortilla and wrap up the way you would with a burrito. Serve on a fancy plate and enjoy! Tastes great cold, no need to heat it up.
2.Honey Filled Olive: A chilled olive filled with sweet honey.
You will need:
- Chilled green olives
- Honey
- Toothpick
- Paper
First, let your olives chill for a while, until they are nice and cold. Then, take out your honey, and carefully fill your olives. Now, on your paper, make an Altador sun. Cut it out, tape it or glue it on your toothpick, stick it in your olives, and enjoy! But please, take out the toothpick before you eat. It's a decoration, you Skeiths.
3.Aubergine and Olive Skewer: These aubergine get some of the flavour of the olives when roasted.
You will need:
- Some olives
- An aubergine, or eggplant
- A skewer
- A grill
First GET AN ADULT!!! I am not responsible for injuries that happen because you didn't have an adult help you! Next, have them help you slice the aubergine into small pieces. Then, place your aubergine on the grill and roast it until it's the way you want it. Last, place your aubergine and olives on the skewer and eat it up! Be careful, skewers are sharp.
4.Altador Dog: Only one hot dog is served in Altador and this is it.
You will need:
- A pita bread
- A hot dog
- Relish
- Ketchup
- Mustard
First, cook up your hot dog. However you like, just cook it. Next, place it in the pita bread just like you would place a hot dog in a bun. Last, put on your condiments. Relish, then mustard, then ketchup. IN THAT ORDER. ;) You want it to be authentic, and just the way your pet would eat it, right?
5. Lastly, we have Altadorian Olive Salad: Covered in bits of savoury meat and Altadorian olives.
You're going to need:
- Some more leftover chicken (maybe left over from your hero gyro?)
- Olives
- Lettuce
- And a tiny bit of spinach
Now, you will toss together the spinach and lettuce. Then, add the olives and chicken and toss again. This is a perfect salad for a fancy dinner, or to surprise your parents!! Now up is Meridell! They have some ahem, not always appetizing food, but we'll make the best of it.
1.Very Very Stale Bread: Beyond very stale is a state of bread known only as Very Very Stale.
You'll need:
First, dip your bread in water and place your bread in a bag. Then, leave it there for 2 months. Pick off the mold. Take it out and enjoy! Not to be confused with Very Stale Bread or Stale Bread, guys. Those go in for a shorter time, but if you'd like one of those, feel free to adjust the time.
2.Veggie Deluxe Stuffed Pepper: This pepper has so many vegetables in it that it has got to be good for you!
You are going to need:
- A bell pepper
- Peas
- Carrots
First, scrape the insides out of your bell pepper. Cook the carrots and peas, or at least warm in the microwave until hot. Then, place your veggies in the pepper and eat it up. Mmmmm, not rotten!!
3.Bullseye Pie: Try not to eat just the center, the whole pie is delicious!
MMMMMM! My mouth is watering! You will need:
- Some cherry pie filling
- Whipped cream
- A pie shell
First, spread whipped cream all through your pie shell. Next, place your cherries in a bullseye pattern. DO NOT STIR!! Place a big cherry in the middle for the bullseye, slice up and enjoy! No need to cook! Sorry, but you have to share. :'(
4.Regulation Meridellian Rations: It's probably got potatoes in it. Everything in Meridell has potatoes in it.
You are going to need:
- A small bag
- carrots
- raw potatoes
- other fruits or veggies
First and last, stuff your things in a bag. Great for going camping, so you can roast carrots and potatoes over the fire. Other than that, well... you'll have to be creative. You can also decorate the bag to make it look like Meridell's colours.
5. Last but not least, we have Blackened Honey: Burnt means done, right? A little info: If you want to make a Blackened Banana or a Blackened Hot Pepper, feel free to substitue for one of the other ingredents.
You will need:
- Leftover honey from Altador recipes
- A grill
First, put the honey on the grill. Cook it until black. You're done! Pleasantly burnt tasting, but still a little sweet! King Skarl wants me to tell you that it is his favorite, and he keeps his kitchens stocked with some Blackened Honey. That concludes our tasty food adventure. I recommended serving these to your parents! Join me again some other time as we make more food, and thanks for reading. P.S: Don't eat the Very Stale Bread or the Blackened Honey!! And, last big hug to jellyneo for letting me use the item database!
