How to Dress Like a Neopian Villain

Villains are some of the best characters ever created by Neopets content department. Their psychological profiles are very detailed, complex and deep, so it's quite easy to find them inspiring.

But what if we want to emulate their looks on our Neopets? We chose some of the most famous Neopian villains – Jhudora, Hubrid Nox, Eliv Thade, and Mr. Krawley – and tried to dress some pets like them.

We tried to use mostly neopoint items, but we also had to add some Neocash wearables because of the lack of NP multispecies clothes.

Let's start our round up!

JHUDORA

Jhudora certainly is the evilest faerie out there. She's so 'nice' to offer Neopians to go on quests for her, but every Neopet is actually scared by her.

Jhudora Wig

This flowing, purple and green wig is a neopoint item you can easily find in shops for 75,000 neopoints a piece. It's not the cheapest wig out there, but it actually fits the character. The green streaks, combined with the purple base, make this wearable quite difficult to match in customisations, but they also assure your Neopet the best appearance. Even Jhudora herself will envy this head of perfect hair!

Dark Faerie Eye Shadow

Jhudora is the most famous among the dark faeries, and, thanks to this make up, your Neopet's gaze will look really evil, like hers. Even if its low rarity, this item is still quite expensive; you can buy it at the trading post for around 150k each, but you can also wish for it at the Wishing Well twice a day! If you're lucky enough, your wish will be granted soon.

Dark Faerie Smoke Dress

This purple piece of cloth came from one of the first Secret Meepit 'Stache games during 2012. It's retired now, but it's quite easy to find on the NC boards. Like the item description says, with this frayed long dress, your pet will get all the dark faeries approval. A proper green and purple dress to emulate Jhudora's one hasn't been created yet, so we have to be happy with this smoking, consumed wearable!

Fancy Purple Tights with Jewelled Flats

This well-coordinated pair of shoes easily recalls the dress mentioned above. You can find them at the NC Mall and have them for 150 NC only. The Fancy Purple Tights with Jewelled Flats are quite versatile and can be used to create many different outfits.

Jhudoras Fingernails

These fake, long, acid-green nails are actually similar to Jhudora's real ones. They are able to add an evil, sinister touch to your Neopets when they are wearing them. You can buy these 'pretty' Jhudoras Fingernails in shops for only 600 neopoints a piece, so they are a bargain, aren't they?

Jhudoras Spell

This handheld wearable item has just been released during last Jhudora's Day, so it's still expensive. The green flame easily reminds of a skull, so everybody would be scared if your pet was wearing it! At the moment, you can buy it at the trading post for around 700,000 neopoints, but if you care of the Wishing Well, then you can try winning it twice a day!

Deluxe Dark Faerie Wings

It's well known that faeries have wings and Jhudora really deserves the deluxe version of them! After all, she's the most famous dark faerie, isn't she? This dark purple pair of wings was a bonus item awarded during February 2012 but, if you didn't participate at that particular Faerie Quests event, you can still buy find them in shops for around 85,000 neopoints each. They are simple but not trivial, versatile and can be easily paired with any dark customisation you have in mind!

The Scene

We decided to choose the classical Jhudoras Bluff Background because behind our fake faerie we can see her real mansion among the clouds, surrounded by some wicked fog. This item costs around 90k a piece, but it surely is worth its price! Moreover, we liked to pair this background with the famous, easy-to-find Castle Parapets Foreground, which costs 2,000 neopoints only, and two retired NC items featuring Barbats, which are ones of the favourite Jhudora's petpets. The first wearable is called Halloween Tree and came out during 2012 for redeeming the Limited Edition Halloween Acara Key Quest Token; the other one is called Gauze and Barbats Garland and you could obtain it redeeming the Limited Edition Halloween Kacheek Key Quest Token during 2013.

HUBRID NOX

Hubrid Nox was an evil warlock who tried more than once to rule Neopia. He died during The Faeries' Ruin plot in 2010 and he's a honourary member of The Awakened Obelisk faction.

Basic Short Raven Wig

This recently released wig can be found in the NC Mall Basics Shop and costs 100NC only. It is plain and can be used in many different outfits. We chose it because it's one of the few wigs that makes Chia's hair disappear, but the most suitable head item to represent Nox probably is the Vampire Costume Wig. It's a retired item rereleased many times, so it's actually easy to find it on the NC boards.

Hubrid Nox Moustache

Hubrid Nox is well known for his black, thin, curled moustache, that's why they were released as a wearable item during 2010 Advent Calendar! They only cost 900 neopoints a piece and can be used by every male Neopet who wants to have an elegant, classy appearance.

Hubrid Nox Collectors Cape

This black and red cape was released during the first NC Mall collectors series in October 2009. It's not that easy to find on the NC boards, but it really resembles the original Hubrid Nox's cape! A good alternative to this quite rare item is the recently released Vampire Counts Cape. Instead of the golden and red brooch of the Collectors Cape, it has a white ruffled neckerchief, which gives a regal look to your Neopet, especially if they like the dark atmosphere of the Haunted Woods.

Frilly Neovian Shirt

The Frilly Neovian Shirt was retired last year from the NC Mall, but it has been out for so much time that every Neocash buyer should have at least one in their closet or safety deposit box. Its off-white shade gives a stylish, noble appearance, just like any true Neovian sirs.

Spellcasters Hands

Nox was a powerful warlock, so he used to cast colourful, dangerous spells. This wearable was awarded for unlocking a Green Luminous Cask during the Obelisk War in February 2013; every Neopet will be scared if they see someone using the chilling, light blue Spellcaster Hands!

Basic Black Trousers

This simple pair of trousers is buyable in the NC Mall Basics Shop for only 100NC a piece. They are quite handy and can be used for lots of different occasions, not only to dress up like Hubrid Nox. The Basic Black Trousers present a belt of the same shade of black so that your Neopet won't show others if their trousers size is too big.

Cobweb Shoes

The Cobweb Shoes are one of the very few neopoint multispecies wearable shoes out there, and can be found in shops for around 32,000 NP each. Being Hubrid Nox a ghost nowadays, he doesn't really need to polish his shoes to have the best looking appearance; he decided to let cobwebs grow on them, so he can really look consumed, as a real ghost.

The Scene

The Nox Castle Silhouette Background really is the most proper background for our Hubrid's fan. Its sinister, purple sky actually makes a shiver run down our spines only looking at that. And Nox's mansion silhouette on the left looks as creepy as he would have like it to be. This chilly background comes from a Halloween event and can be bought in shops for around 90k a piece. Adding the very cheap Haunted Wood Foreground (500 neopoints each), and the Neocash Tree and Pumpkin Silhouette item will be the cherry on top to create a perfect Nox outfit.

ELIV THADE

Eliv Thade is very well-known for its anagrams game, The Castle Of Eliv Thade. He used to be the greatest puzzle writer in the whole Neopia, but he failed solving a puzzle that one of his servants gave him. He was driven mad by that problem and he died alone in his castle. His ghost still wanders in the corridors of the castle, seeking his revenge from anyone who dares to enter, like the poor Usul Gilly, the main character of the game previously mentioned.

Eliv Thade Make-Up Kit

With this great neocash item, every Neopet has their chance to start looking like that evil Kacheek! It's an item retired from the NC Mall a long time ago, but it has been rereleased so many times that it's quite easy to find it up for trade on the NC boards. The Eliv Thade Make-Up Kit is so detailed that it also has some fake warts which look like the ones Eliv Thade has for real! This face paint is suitable for different kinds of Halloween costumes, you just need to use your creativity!

Eliv Thade Cloak

TNT released a bunch of items dedicated to the anagrams master; so we can also use this cloak to create a very similar look. Being a wearable item of a ghost, it has to look old and used, with scraps on its collar and many patches of different shades of purple. To obtain the Eliv Thade Cloak, you had to activate the Eliv Thade Key Quest Token until October 2011; if you didn't though, you can always search for one up for trade on the NC boards!

Hand Wrap

We don't know why, but Eliv Thade uses to appear with both hands and feet covered by white, shabby wraps; so, this neopoint item seemed to be the most appropriate one to imitate the infamous puzzle writer. You can handily find them in shops for around 2,200 neopoints a piece. What a bargain!

Neopian Times Writing Quill

The lack of writing quills among both neopoints and Neocash wearable items is quite disheartening. We had to choose the Neopian Times one because it's the ONLY one available! It looks like a real Weewoo quill, but you really have to be lucky to find one on sale at the trading post. In case, you can use the Stack of Tax Return Forms, which only costs 6,000 neopoints a piece. It's not that elegant, but at least is priced and buyable!

Beach Volley Ball Socks

There aren't any kinds of foot wrap out there, so this pair of socks is the most similar item we were able to find. The looking like volleyball stripes can easily remind of bandages, or wraps. The Beach Volley Ball Socks were awarded during the 2009 Daily Dare, but if you missed the event you can buy them in shops for only 2,000 neopoints each.

The Scene

Guess what? We also have an Eliv Thade Castle Background! If you activated an Eliv Thade Key Quest Token after October 2011, this is the prize you found in your inventory. It's a dark, sinister background with some spyder webs on its walls, as the perfect home for a ghost should be. We added another web, just to highlight the state of abandon of the castle. The Old Cobwebs Foreground is a very common neopoint item which costs only 10 neopoints a piece. You probably have at least one in your closet or in your safety deposit box! Last but not least, there's the Spyders Web Covered Chandelier. It's a retired prize from the JubJub Power Bounce NC Mall Game, but it is easy to find on the NC boards. This disturbing chandelier easily recall the Eliv Thade Castle Background, with its candles and the spyder webs among its metal arms.

MR KRAWLEY

This mysterious Krawk used to offer potions in the town of Neovia, in the Tale Of Woe plot. These potions satisfied the most wanted desire of the citizens who drank them, but they turned them into monsters. Krawley disappeared in a wisp of purple smoke before the end of the plot, so he could still be alive, hiding somewhere.

Elegant Gear Top Hat

This stylish hat is worn by every gentleman around Neopia! His black and gray shades make the top hat wearable with almost every kind of male outfit; the golden gears give it a fashionable, elegant touch. You can easily find the Elegant Gear Top Hat in shops for around 5,000 neopoints, so what are you waiting for?

Krawley Contacts

This disturbing, nut brown pair of contacts was named after Mr. Krawley himself so it's for sure a great item to add to our customisation! They were a Limited Edition item of the Tale of Woe Mystery Capsule, but they have been rereleased more than once, so it shouldn't be that difficult for you to find a pair of the Krawley Contacts on the NC boards. With their large pupils, the pet who decides to wear them can mesmerize others' attention and convince them to buy and drink those creepy potions in a bit.

Heavy Meridellian Cloak

We all know that Neovia is always foggy and, with all that humidity, you just need to wear a comfortable, warm coat. The perfect piece of cloth you might want your Neopet to wear is the Heavy Meridellian Cloak, then! With its soft fur around the neck, and its refined shaped details it actually looks like your best neopoint choice to go round Neovia. It costs around 85k a piece, which is a honest price for this great wearable item!

Mr. Krawley Collectors Vest and Tie

This shirt was a Collectible item available in the NC Mall only during January 2011. Bearing the name of the infamous Neovian Blue Krawk, the Mr. Krawley Collectors Vest and Tie is the perfect piece of cloth for those pets who want to copy his both elegant and sinister look. A good alternative to this Vest is the Fance Top, which is a quite rare neopoint wearable item. It is zoned under "jackets", though; so, if you choose this top, you have to get rid of the Heavy Meridellian Cloak, which is actually a shame!

Neovian Potion

A potion from Neovia is all we need to emulate Mr Krawley with our Neopet! This item was awarded during the 2012 Games Master Challenge, but if you missed the event you can easily buy it in shops for around 11,000 neopoints a piece. The emerald Neovian Potion really recall one of the potions you need to collect while playing Bruno's Backwoods Breakaway game, which is closely related to the Tale Of Woe plot and Mr Krawley apparitions.

Lawyer Briefcase

Mr Krawley appears in many pictures with a suitcase in his left hand. It probably contains a whole set of evil concoctions, so we wanted to replicate this detail to make your pet looking like that malicious, sinister Krawk. The Lawyer Briefcase was awarded during the 2009 Advent Calendar; if you missed the event, you can find it in shops for only 120 neopoints a piece, which really is a bargain!

Striped Neovian Trousers

This dark, stylish pair of trousers with thin, elegant, gray stripes was one of the Neovian Wonderclaw Machine prizes given out from September 2012 to May 2013; so it now is retired. Fortunately, the Striped Neovian Trousers are quite easy to find on the NC boards, so you can just trade for them! They're quite versatile and can be used to create different, elegant male outfits... even if the scene is not located in Neovia!

Elegant Gear Boots

If you choose to make your pet wear the Elegant Gear Top Hat, you would also like to pair it with the Elegant Gear Boots! These shoes are comfortable, resistant and also add a touch of elitism thanks to their golden gears, which easily recall the ones on the gray band of the previously mentioned top hat. This uptown pair of boots only costs around 4,500 neopoints each, it's a bargain, isn't it?

The Scene

To complete our Mr Krawley look, we chose the Neovia Shop Silhouette Background; it comes from the 2012 Prigpants Trick-or-Treat Bag and it costs around 100k a piece. Its different shades of gray and black make this background mysterious, minacious. It also looks good together with the colours of the Neopet outfit. The Silhouette Gate is a nice, well refined lower foreground item that can be easily found in shops for around 3,500 neopoints. It goes perfectly with dark backgrounds and help covering the lower part of our customisation, which would look quite empty and boring without it. Moreover, the Cover Of Darkness foreground represents the fog always surrounding Neovia very well, adding a sinister touch to our scene. It costs quite a bit nowadays, as it's an old Game Master Challenge prize; so you can buy it at the trading post for around 300k a piece. It's totally worth its cost though, because it can be used in many different ways, and helps creating very original, unique effects. Last but not least, we added the Fancy Wrought Iron Lamp to create a highlight near our Neopet. It was a NC item recently retired (during November 2013), so it's still easy to find on the NC boards.

This brings us to an end. There are so many Neopian villains out there that we could actually write a series of articles, so we chose just four of them. We hope you liked this parade of mean guys and discovered at least one wearable you didn't consider buying before!
