Let's Eat! at the Altador Cup

For breakfast is the most important meal of the day and wandering around Altador looking for that rare Zo Junior Action Figure to round out your collection, it's best you get a good start. My preference is the Altador Omelette with a fresh goblet of Altadorian Nectar. The cheese omelette is teamed up with a crispy potato pancake with a fried egg on top. Just cutting into the fried egg and omelette with freshly made cheese just makes my mouth water! Soak up the delicious yolk with the pancake made with just enough crunch and wash it all down with hand squeezed juice made with locally grown fruits from the Follies Farms. If an omelette isn't quite your taste, perhaps a warm Fig Muffin straight from the oven? It has a fresh candied fig (also from the Follies Farms) and a simple sweet sauce.

Lunch now is a different matter and definitely depends whether you're willing to shell out a lot for more traditional Altadorian fare or if you're currently sitting and watching the latest match between Krawk Island and the Lost Desert (Defense, Rhee Solters!). Let's see what the nearby food stands have to offer.

Altador Cup Hot Dogs are a favorite of Cup fans and with the official stamp of approval by the Altador Cup representatives, it's easy to see why. Wrapped up in a striped paper wrapper which definitely helps keep the extra mustard from dripping on your fingers and a good grip when you leap from your seat cheering for your team. Nothing worse than losing your food and even worse when it lands on the big Lupe who happens to be wearing a jersey of the other team. Oops.

Of course the best drink to accompany your delicious Altador Cup Hot Dog is the Lime Berry Slushie, which comes in one of sixteen team collector cups. If you're a die hard fan of anything relating to the Cup, these are a nice souvenir as well. I can't say that the slushie is all that tasty unless you really do like the lime-berry flavor... But to each their own! Maybe you're like me and really can't handle both a hot dog and drink; might I suggest the Oranella Slushie Slinger Drinking Cap? Double slushies in a yummy citrusy oranella and a hands-free drink, what could be better?

When the games are winding down toward the end of the day, it's time for a late afternoon snack. It's going to be a while before the official scores of the day are posted for your team (which is Lost Desert, yes?) so it would be a smart idea to grab something to tide you over for that late dinner that is bound to happen.

After all, there were games all day and each play needs to be analyzed, argued over and debated by your fellow fans.

My recommendation to start: Altadorian Melitinias. I'm not entirely sure how to pronounce Melitinias but they are darn delicious! They are these little fancy cheese tarts that are baked and eaten warm. Though I have to admit that by the time I get around to biting into mine, it has already cooled off; too distracted by the discussion whether last year's defense has improved.

I love pita chips and it feels like the Bowl of Pita Chips is never ending. With all these pita chips, we must have hummus and lucky for us, we have three different kinds: Hummus, which has its own special pita chips. (Not sure how special but they are tasty!), Sundried Tomato Hummus which is always made fresh that day, and the Three Layer Hummus with, you guessed it, three flavors of regular, onion, and red tomato.

Alright, let's round out our snack with some fruit. Might I recommend the remarkably extra sweet Altadorian Grapes? Purple and green, they're juicy and make awesome ammo for throwing at someone that disagrees with your point. Wait. Scratch that! I'll also suggested some Figs or a lovely Fruit Cornucopia which has some delicious winged apples and figs. It's like playing Crisis Courier except for the scary minitheus!

Round out your snack with Nectar of the Heroes. I'm not sure if this drink is officially endorsed by the twelve Heroes, but it is typically served in a goblet, chilled with no ice. No ice means no watered down Nectar of the Heroes because you'll end up getting drawn into a conversation about the Faerieland team...

It's already late evening and after walking around trying to grab a just-before-closing deal on that awesomely-cool Tandrak Shaye Action Figure you need for your collection, you are hungry for dinner!

What's that? Too much eating and not enough cheering? Never mind you!

Altadorian Lentil Soup is healthy and filling and with a side of toasted Altadorian Bread with a Flask of Olive Oil for dipping, you can just have a seat. There is nothing not delicious about that meal!

An even lighter meal would be either an Olive and Feta Pie, a little messy but yummy nonetheless, or a Grilled Veggie Platter with aubergine, asparagus and artichoke leaves.

After eating an Altador Style Bratwurst and down way too many slushies during game time, you want to at least try one vegetable, right?

Anyway, desserts are a must and nothing says Altador like Lavender Ice Cream or Pomegranate Jelly. The latter I'm not sure how long it takes to get pomegranate juice to flavor the jelly but wow, is that good!

Whew, are you stuffed? Never worry, there's always tomorrow if there is something you missed today! Such as... the Lemon Sun Cake, Fig Ice Cream, or a Walnut Pomegranate Pastry. Hey, I wanna try some Stuffed Grape Leaves too...
