15 Ways to Celebrate Neopets' 15th Birthday

An event this big can't go ignored either! It needs to be celebrated in every way possible. That's where I come in. I'll be giving Neopians from all around 15 (*wink*) ways to celebrate the big day. These birthday ideas should keep you busy throughout the day and let you have lots of fun along the way.

On to the list!

1) Dress The Part

First and foremost is dressing yourself and your neopets around the occasion. The Commemorative Birthday Cupcake Costume is a great choice to start with. Try and find something that showcases a lot of colors and has a unique feel to it. Clothes featuring cake, ice cream, and the like are fun to wear for a birthday celebration. Perhaps even take a visit to the NC Mall and pick up the 10th Birthday Nostalgia Bundle? It contains a wide assortment of apparel that perfectly match what we're going for. Hey, even dressing up in your favorite AC gear would work! After all your favorite teams are likely having a party as well.

2) Decorate Your Neohome

A party is nothing without decorations. Planning on having a lot of neofriends over? Then it would be a good idea to set up tables and seating before the big day. Pick out some streamers and balloons and scatter them throughout the house. Decorating the main rooms you'll be having guests in will be enough to satisfy everyone.

3) Serve Some Delicious Treats

A party isn't complete without some food and drinks to back it up. After all, how else are you gonna keep guests occupied until the real event begins? Baking homemade dishes are always a appreciated delight for everyone, but store bought goods are just as delicious. The Neopian Bakery and Faerie Foods are excellent choices to look into for that. Try and gather some older meals just for the sake of preserving the past if you can.

4) Travel Neopia

Who said you had to stay at home to celebrate? Treat yourself to a special trip to your favorite Neopian land during the occasion. Purchase various party goods and foods while you're there and make some new friends along the way. Maybe have a picnic under the stars in Meridell? Or even have a beach party at Mystery Island? Whatever you decide, each land has its own way to party.

5) Cherish Those Old Memories

Take a trip down memory land and look through old Neopedia articles on past events, or talk with your neofriends about things Neopia had in the past. Think of all the positive events that happened to you while in Neopia. Remember the first time you hand painted your very first Neopet? Or the time you spent all that time on a game that was terribly frustrating, but you managed to make it through and win? Cherishing the past is a party all on its own.

5) Play Some Old Games

Remember all those old flash games that were around? Like The Last Smiley or the older versions of current games? Well, you could visit the game graveyard and relive some of those old memories. I know the game graveyard isn't the 'liveliest' place around to celebrate a birthday but we both know that place could do with a little happiness. You'll certainly be hit with a wave of nostalgia after playing through some of the games.

6) Obtain a Goodie Bag

Simply getting your hands on this year's goodie bag will be an event too. The bags are filled with tons of party favors, toys, and other surprises sure to keep you busy for the day. Buying some of the older goodie bags can be an excellent idea as well. You might find an older treasure buried deep inside it's contents, thus giving yourself a little surprise in the process.

7) Chat with Old Friends

Run on over to the Neoboards or neomail and talk with someone you haven't heard from in a while. Discussing some of Neopia's past events, a recent goal you just accomplished, or a random event you encountered are just some of the options you could start with. There's no time like the present!

8) Wear the Birthday Avatar with Pride

When you go to the news on the 15th you'll be awarded the Birthday Avatar. It is a birthday avatar after all, so why not use on it a birthday? You could make yourself a snazzy font to match it and spread the birthday joy wherever you go as well.

9) Finish a Goal

Accomplishing a personal achievement in the world would be a great present for the party. You'd be giving yourself a pat on the back while giving Neopia your time and attention to a particular feature. Spending a great deal of effort on something shows your dedication with the lands and will always be appreciated all around.

10) Participate in a Contest

Share your creative side with everyone and create something for of Neopia's many contests. There's lot to try out and you might find something enjoyable to keep entering later on. I know some contest have closed recently, but that still doesn't stop you from looking back on older entries either! Who knows... maybe looking at a past entry may give you some inspiration to start on something yourself.

11) Spend time With Your Neopets

Treating your pets with care and affection is just as important as planning a party. I mean, Neopets are the main reason Neopia's around in the first place! Buy them some toys and their favorite foods. It's their special days too and they shouldn't be left out. Playing games like Kacheek Seek are extremely exciting if you have a big family. Taking turns finding each other will get a laugh out of everyone while you spend some quality time together.

12) Go on a Spending Spree

Hit the malls and buy yourself a little something today. Spend those hard earned Neopoints on something special for you or your Neopet. Buy a paint brush you've been meaning to get. Trade some items for some of gallery items you've been eying. You've certainly earned a little break to just splurge on yourself. Today's the perfect day to do it!

13) Do the Daily Routine

Sweeping through those dailies of yours has become such a habit, you probably don't even think about it anymore. It'd be weird to suddenly stop completing them for a day so why stop now? Besides, with all the increased random events you'll get on the birthday, you might win something awesome. Or even beat that game you've been pursuing every day for the past month. Don't let the luck go to waste!

14) Pay Attention to the News

All throughout birthday week TNT will reveal some surprises for everyone. Make sure you pay attention to the news everyday. There's bound to be some new goodies for you to get your hands on. Maybe some new paint brush colors, a new game, or something else? You never know when you could be the one getting surprised.

15) Giving Thanks

Finally, and probably the most important one of them all, go out and give a big thanks to the people that made this all possible. Neopia wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for all the people working on the site all year. They've put loads of time and effort into the site's features. If anyone deserves a party break, it's definitely TNT. Thanks for all your hard work and letting Neopians have such a fun experience!
