Halloween at the Haunted Woods!

     Donna put the flyer back into her pocket, took a deep breath and entered into the Haunted Woods. She looked around in amazement at how fantastic everything looked all decorated for Halloween; there were tree lights everywhere in all different colours, pumpkins in every corner all carved different shapes and faces with flickering candles inside of them to make them look even creepier. There were very lifelike cobwebs and even spiders on all the bushes. Hope they're not real Donna chuckled to herself nervously. And there were a few ghostly petpets running around making others jump in the process but they looked really good. Everywhere was buzzing and she could hear chatter and laughing and even screaming in the distance... Donna got lost in the moment there and thought she better check in at reception and put all her things away so she could have a look around for herself!

     She carried on walking, heading towards the haunted house when she came across a funny looking creature which, according to the research she did before coming, must be The Esophagor who always wants food..

     Donna quickly walked past him as she didn't have any food for him but she still heard him groaning 'II AMMM HUNGGRRYYY..... feeed mmeee' and found herself walking past a scary graveyard which they didn't say was next to the Haunted House! Donna doesn't think she'll be getting much sleep tonight! But she has to keep telling herself, it’s not real. It’s not real...

     Finally she made it into the Haunted House where she was greeted by a mummified Techo who didn't really say much just checked her in and gave her a discount on the room. Too late to back out now she says to herself as she is shown to her room which, compared to everything going on outside, looked pretty ordinary. She went over to the window to get a good view of the Haunted Woods and was really impressed by how it’s all come together for this occasion.

     She walked back out of the Haunted House, as she didn't want to miss another second. And just to the right was a shop with scary masks inside. So that’s what everyone was wearing! She had a look around and bought a scary werelupe mask and excited the shop. She put the mask on and carried on walking up, passing the stone castle. Ah that must be where Edna lives, she'd done her research on her too and unless you get her specific items she won't let you in and might even put a curse on you. She wasn't called a witch for nothing you know...

      Donna then came across the Gypsy camp where there were others dancing around a fire pit and toasting marshmallows and listening to music. The camp was also decorated up for Halloween too. A blue Zafara dressed in a Halloween mask like herself came bounding over and introduced herself as RJ and asked if she wanted to join in. Donna agreed but only for a little bit as she'd only just arrived and she still had so much to see!

     A short while after feeling dizzy with laughing so much and full from all the marshmallows she had, she said her goodbyes and made her way to the Deserted Fairground. Now this was more like it, this is what she mainly came here for.

     Soon as she entered she knew she was going to have so much fun! There were so many games and activities to do here she couldn't wait to get started. Firstly she had a few goes at the Corkgun gallery and won some soft cuddly Halloween themed soft toys which went straight into her backpack.

     Next she tried her luck with buying a scratch card at the kiosk but had no luck with that one. She wandered over to the spooky food stand and bought some snacks for later. She rather liked the look of the bat cookies and some stuffed pumpkins.

     Next was the museum house called Castle Nox. Good thing she brought along her camera as the house was full of ancient and creepy stuff to take pictures of. She could have sworn she felt someone was watching her through every room. But it can't have been, they're only pictures on the wall, they can't be real...

      She had spent a good deal of time in there as there was loads to look at with so many rooms. She thought she must carry on playing some more games before the night is over. Donna walked out and came face to face with the Wheel of Misfortune, where if you spin the wheel it will either give you something good or worthless. She thought she would try her luck and see what happens. 150 neopoints later and all she won was a pile of sludge which she put straight into the bin afterwards.

     Then it was the game of Test Your Strength next which she read that if you manage to reach the top score of 100 by hitting a big red button with the wooden mallet then you win the jackpot! But it’s very rare and by the looks of things not many people had managed to get close to that score. Donna waited in a queue and watched a Red Skieth have a go, he managed 57 before his pal a yellow Jetsam, had a go. But he only managed 36. Then it was Donna's turn. She took her mask off, put her backpack on the ground, flexed her muscles and picked up the wooden mallet.

     Donna thought she had hit it really hard but the meter didn't go up very high. In fact, it only went as high as 5 then flopped down again. She had another go and reached the number 7 this time. To save herself anymore embarrassment she put the mallet down and walked away quickly.

     She headed towards another game of Carnival of Terror where she had to shoot random clowns and if she managed to get a score of 725 she would win a prize! And after a few false starts and one score of 675 she had a very lucky game and managed to score 728 and walked away with a crème pie which she ate on the way to her next activity, which was the Coconut Shy stall.

     She threw a good amount of balls to try and knock off a coconut but unfortunately didn't manage to knock any off. She had a quick look around the Haunted Weapon shop but she didn't really want to buy anything from there and also came across a ghost pet stall where they 'paint' you ghost. So that’s where those ghost petpets got their spooky look from! The last place to look around was the Spooky Furniture Shop. After walking out of that shop she spotted one last game to try and that was Bagtuelle, where you shoot a mootix to a random a number and maybe win a prize. She launched the mootix onto the board and it landed on the number 7 and she won 500 neopoints, hooray!

     Afterwards it was time to head back so she made her way through the gates of The Deserted Fairground turning round and having one last look around. It truly was fun playing all the different games and least she won some prizes!

     She had time to quickly wander over the Brain Tree and took some pictures. And while walking back to the Haunted House she walked by another Museum like Castle called The Castle of Eliv Thade which she told herself that tomorrow morning she will have a look around in there before heading back home but right now it was rather late and the place was starting to quieten down a bit with everyone else had maybe gone off to sleep or home she certainly didn't want to be left alone out here so she quickened the pace and made it back to the Haunted house and made it to her room. Before she shut the curtains she had one last look around as it would all look different in the morning.

     Donna thought she would have trouble getting to sleep but actually she slept very well considering where she was...
