TOP 5 BEST (or worst) MOMENTS WITH FLASH

An article brought to you by gabi100pitty, tangamandapiano and belindaword.

Hey everyone - here is your newest Neopian Times writer, gabi100pitty with a short article about the good (and the bad!) sides of Flash Player. Let's remember it together?

      1) Your first flash game avatar – It really felt great back then, huh? In my case, it was Gadgadsgame. As a newbie (kind of, been a newbie for a few years hehe), I remember I had no idea what an “avatar” was, and it felt weird that during common gameplay I had that little window showing up – I ended up pressing f5 and missed the text, worrying that I had done something wrong. I’m sure any of the 90’s kids (or earlier) can relate. Maybe your first game avatar was a different one – Nowadays I’m pretty terrible at Gadgadsgame so its crazy I managed to get an avatar back then, now I can only beat AAA.

I’ve decided to ask a few neopians about their Flash experience with game avatars: tangamandapiano and belindaword agreed to give their thoughts around the flash games.

Gabi100pitty: “What was your first Flash game avatar? Do you have any memories to share with our readers?”

Tangamandapiano: Kass basher! It was the easiest game for me… I didn't even need to check my avatar game to know that was definitely the first one.

Gabi100pitty: I was always really bad at this game, couldn’t reach the harder/stronger bat to bash Kass away. What about you, belindaword?

Belindaword: My first one was the turtum one… what was the name of the game… Ah! ultimate bullseye! Now we have ultimate bullseye II, but back in the day, I got it playing its first version, now on the games graveyard… Oh boy, it does bring you a few memories * emotional * I went running to tell my mom I had “my first game avatar” haha.

Gabi100pitty: That was quite an adorable memory, thank you for sharing! I wonder though, how many more neopians have such heartfelt memories like these? Do you have any good memories and would like to share your experience and/or memories with us?

      2) Meepit vs feepit – A true classic feud – Were you #TeamMeepit or #TeamFeepit? This game has to be the easiest flash game avatar – as long you knew your “secret movements” to fight, that is! – Who didn't felt like an elite gamer after getting their first game avatars (just to find out there were hundreds of harder games out there?). Well, if I can be honest, most of my missing avatars are game ones – I’ve been trying really hard to get some more before the flash conversion to HTML5, but there are still a few missing. Hopefully, we can still get game avatars after the full site conversion. Which games you are more excited to see them converted?

      3) Lair of the beast – Oooh boy, can you see the panicked flashbacks of younger neopians seeing this giant creature on your computer screen for the first time? I remember I screamed – back then everything looked so realistic! Haha. If only we knew how much things would evolve, it does bring a few happy (or… uh, not-so-happy?) tears, doesn’t it? The evil prehistoric monster hiding on Tyrannia’s caves - Who never got scared of thaaaaat guy as a kid? That is something I still laugh about to this day, me and my cousin and sister would click on it just to get scared and then giggle like crazy MSPP poogles – back then, getting scared was just as fun as getting a paint brush from the Fruit machine.

      4) Kiko POP – You meant to say – “that one high pitched noise out of nowhere when you clicked on a daily (forgetting it had music) while you had maximum volume because you were listening to music and got scared to bits and felt deaf for 10 seconds?” Oh boy, we hope it's not just us – Or at least not just me – This one daily got me around 5~6 times unprepared. My ears were screaming “Go down with kiko lake” for a while. But as long I got my prizes, I forgave that poor kiko, hehe.

I guess this one scare will prooooooooobably not be missed am I right? The prizes, will certainly be missed, though. : P

      5) SAVING the wheels – Were you an active player during the save the wheels event? Which one was your favourite? If I had to be honest, I was still a bit of a newbie back then, wish I had invested in the prizes. Have YOU checked the value of those faerie mazzews nowadays?

My forever favourite has to be the Knowledge Wheel though – Powerful scrolls and job coupons? Count me in.

Of course, the wheels were the first ones among other high priorities to be converted to HTML5, however, their older versions will never be forgotten. The event itself was really fun, poor and rich neopians alike, there were prizes for everyone.

Did you donate NP for this cause?

     *IN CONCLUSION*

Besides all the goodies and badies – Flash gave us great moments to remember, and while it might take us some time to get used to the new world of Neopia – All our memories will live within our hearts. And when we are more used to HTML5 we will probably wonder “How we played those games when the HTML5 version is so much better?” At least, its what we hope for the future.

We shouldn’t stay in the past, although it is fine to keep memories saved – Now we have a bright new future ahead, out there just waiting for us. It’s time to celebrate the new – We wish all our readers a Happy New Year – And hopefully 2021 things that we can enjoy about HTML5!

Remember to keep your Neopets safe as there are a few fireworks that still make some noise – Not all Neopets are brave, and you may want to hold your furbabies close to you as we say goodbye to the old and embrace the new decade.

Stay awesome, stay sweet, stay kind.
